A one bedroom with large walk in closet and private bathroom is available four blocks from the Playa del Rey beach, and a 2 minute walk to bars and restaurants.
The room has natural lighting from a large window. Wood floors throughout. It is furnished with a queen bed, desk, chair, TV with a Roku box. There is also a chair that folds out into a single bed.
There is wifi and a Roku box with multiple movie and tv channel options available. Access to the in-unit washer and dryer, private patio and kitchen/dining room is also available. There isn't a living room, so watching TV and relaxing are in-room activities. Free street parking is readily available.
Smoking is allowed outside only. If you want to get rowdy, it is best to walk walk to one of many dive and casual bars.
Kitchen, and dining area are shared spaces, and that includes space in the fridge and cupboards, as well as access to the washer & dryer. For recreation, I have 2 beach cruisers available, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach towels, 2-3 boogie boards, and beach mats available for guests.
I am a busy person, I work from home occasionally. and go out 3-4 nights a week. I entertain friends over food and wine a few times a month, and you are always welcome to join.
Interaction varies by weekend or weekdays - but as a general rule, I meet guests when they arrive, and see them in the morning over breakfast, and in the evening.
Playa del Rey is a quiet beach town, bordered by the Ballona Wetlands, bluffs, the marina and the ocean. The locals are laid back and friendly. It is a relaxing island retreat in a busy city. Playa is 10 minutes from LAX, and 10-15 minutes to Manhattan Beach, Venice and Santa Monica, depending on traffic, of course. It is also close to the 90, a 405 offshoot, for quick access to the rest of the city.
Kayaking in the Marina is a 20 minute walk / 7 minute bike ride away. The Marina also has boat tours, whale watching, bike rentals, kayaks and paddle boards.
In Playa, there is a lagoon and park with BBQ's and bird watching, or tours of the wetlands on the weekend; There is an easily accessible beach bike path, and Dockweiler beach is the only beach in LA that allows bonfires.
The Easiest way to get around Los Angeles is by car, as the city is so spread out.
There is a bus stop a few buildings away, that comes every 1/2 hour.
There is also a bus from the Marina, about a 15 minute walk away, that goes directly to the metro line that easily connects with the rest of the city.
I also recommend using Lyft or Uber or a taxi to get around.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Sandra's. It is just what we needed and wanted: a comfortable, clean place to stay while in the area. Sandra and her sister April are charming and good people. I would recommend their place to anyone.
We will be back next year if she has room for us!
Sandra's home was terrific! She has a wonderful eye- I'm picky about design being a designer myself and love color, and it suited us to a tee! Getting to or communicating with her was a breeze and we love her neighborhood's recommendations. Although we failed to meet in person, she was available by text and very helpful. She even left fruit and coffee for us!! We look forward to staying there again!
Sandy's place was ideal for our needs. It was great to have our own bathroom and access to cruiser bikes. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and airport. Along with being adjacent to other great areas along the LA beaches. The room is very spacious and Sandy has maps and lots of other little nice things to make your stay a great success. Thanks!
Staying at Sandy's was great!! She was so warm, welcoming and generous!! Lots of helpful advice and guides for experience Playa del Rey and the nearby beaches in addition to picking up some breakfast foods for us as we got in quite late the night before and didn't have time to get anything. More than anything we enjoyed the conversation! I would definitely recommend staying here :)
Sandy and April were fantastic hosts and the place was lovely, clean, and in a great location near the beach. Highly recommend staying with them!
Sandy was a fantastic host and the room was great. She had fresh fruit for us on arrival and I only wish we'd had more time to hangout. The room was huge with a walk in closet and large bathroom. We enjoyed riding the beach cruisers down to the beach, just a few minutes away. I highly recommend this place for a beach retreat while being a short drive to Santa Monica.
The room is very confortable and clean, the house is in a great location, 2' from the beach;
Sandra has been such a great host, I really felt home!! thanks one more time!!
I would defenetely recommend the place!!
Sandra was super welcoming and fun. The space was great and the location in Playa del Rey is easily accessible and has some sweet restaurants nearby. Definitely enjoyed my stay and recommend Sandra's place to anyone looking to visit the beach!
My friend and I spent a very good and relax time at Sandy's place. She is so cool, easy to communicate, really have fun to talk with her. Sandy's house is in a quite and safe neighborhood, near to Venice and Santa Monica beach. Two beaches gave me different feelings, which is so interesting. I guarantee you will definitely have a wonderful time here. Room is well-prepared, neat and cozy. And I do like the decoration of Sandy's house. I would like to recommend Sandy's place to everyone.
Sandra was lovely!
Super friendly with lots of great advice on where to go and what to do nearby. Her place is really cute, we both felt very much at home.
Thanks Sandra for the stay!
