Description

The Space

A one bedroom with large walk in closet and private bathroom is available four blocks from the Playa del Rey beach, and a 2 minute walk to bars and restaurants.

The room has natural lighting from a large window. Wood floors throughout. It is furnished with a queen bed, desk, chair, TV with a Roku box. There is also a chair that folds out into a single bed.

There is wifi and a Roku box with multiple movie and tv channel options available. Access to the in-unit washer and dryer, private patio and kitchen/dining room is also available. There isn't a living room, so watching TV and relaxing are in-room activities. Free street parking is readily available.

Smoking is allowed outside only. If you want to get rowdy, it is best to walk walk to one of many dive and casual bars.

Kitchen, and dining area are shared spaces, and that includes space in the fridge and cupboards, as well as access to the washer & dryer. For recreation, I have 2 beach cruisers available, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach towels, 2-3 boogie boards, and beach mats available for guests.

I am a busy person, I work from home occasionally. and go out 3-4 nights a week. I entertain friends over food and wine a few times a month, and you are always welcome to join.
Interaction varies by weekend or weekdays - but as a general rule, I meet guests when they arrive, and see them in the morning over breakfast, and in the evening.

Playa del Rey is a quiet beach town, bordered by the Ballona Wetlands, bluffs, the marina and the ocean. The locals are laid back and friendly. It is a relaxing island retreat in a busy city. Playa is 10 minutes from LAX, and 10-15 minutes to Manhattan Beach, Venice and Santa Monica, depending on traffic, of course. It is also close to the 90, a 405 offshoot, for quick access to the rest of the city.

Kayaking in the Marina is a 20 minute walk / 7 minute bike ride away. The Marina also has boat tours, whale watching, bike rentals, kayaks and paddle boards.

In Playa, there is a lagoon and park with BBQ's and bird watching, or tours of the wetlands on the weekend; There is an easily accessible beach bike path, and Dockweiler beach is the only beach in LA that allows bonfires.

The Easiest way to get around Los Angeles is by car, as the city is so spread out.
There is a bus stop a few buildings away, that comes every 1/2 hour.
There is also a bus from the Marina, about a 15 minute walk away, that goes directly to the metro line that easily connects with the rest of the city.
I also recommend using Lyft or Uber or a taxi to get around.

House Rules

Smoking is allowed outside only.
No dogs or other animals.

Please do not park in the driveway - even to drop off luggage or pack up the car. There have been car damage to my neighbor's cars in the past, and they get put out when someone parks in their spot - which in turn compromises the status of my ability to host on Airbnb.

The rest is courtesy - cleaning up after yourself, putting dishes in the dishwasher, wiping counters, keeping the bathroom clean. If you bring sand in from the beach, vacuum / sweep, etc.
Tell me if you break something so I can replace it.

Have a great stay!
