A tastefully converted open plan apartment whose walls are well over 400 years old! Comprising of a kitchenette, living/bedroom and a shower room . This little hideaway has an open wrought iron balcony where one can sit and read or simply look onto a small quite stepped street . located some 10 minutes away from the main artery of public transport, which traverses the island. The apartments are situated just beneath the Upper Barrakka Gardens which were designed by and for the Knights back in the 16th century. A stone throw away from the shopping centre, albeit in a quaint area of this beautiful Baroque city cradled with 12 km of fortifications.
We spent 3 marvellous days in Valetta at Michael's place. The flat is very cosy, well equiped and well located, in old city, close to the sea. Michael is very kind and helpful. We warmly recommend this apartment.
The reservation was canceled 33 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Very nice apartment that is perfectly located. 5 min walk from the some nice restaurants and bars. We had no problem parking our rented car nearby, so it's a good place to start if you want to explore the island.
We got a very warm welcome and got some nice personal tips about where to go and where to eat.
Great little place. Clean & tidy with everything we needed. Great view from the first apartment. As there was no one arriving the day i left, Michael kindly let me stay in the apartment until my departure time. Wonderful location, quiet and easy to get to everything. Easy parking right next to the apartment.
As the first review for this property, I'll try to cover as much as possible, but the overview is: very highly recommended! Firstly, the flat is in a virtually unbeatable location: tucked in a side street both quiet and scenic, yet only a few minutes walk from the central streets of Valletta, it has the advantages of being both peaceful and conveniently situated. As it is a short (5-10min) walk from the bus station, and the whole of Malta is well served by bus routes, it is also an excellent starting point for exploring the country. The flat has great facilities, and there was even bread, milk, mineral water and ground coffee provided; furthermore, it was spotless (professionally cleaned and fumigated before arrival [I even met the cleaner when I was checking out, too]). Although modern in decor, the building itself is old and was originally designed with ventilation, rather than air-con, in mind - so unlike 'new' buildings, it doesn't become an oven during the day (I visited mid-summer) and is comfortable at night (I slept well and didn't even need the [otherwise very efficient] ceiling fan). Best of all, though, Michael is an excellent host - the flat came with all manner of maps, bus timetables and a Malta guidebook, but Michael is a font of local knowledge, annotated a map in considerable detail, and offered many recommendations for bars, restaurants, sights, etc. - these are worth following up on! (Would also recommend the Bridge Bar, two minutes down the road from the flat, with live jazz outside on a Friday night and the clientele spilling into the streets). An excellent time and a clearly experienced host; would recommend to anyone!
