The Happy House is a historic 2 bedroom Victorian Cottage built in 1892. Designed to maintain the original charm w/all the amenities to make your stay in Galveston a unique experience and something to remember. The perfect place for small families, couples, friends trip, travel workers, history lovers.

The space
You & your guest will love the New Orleans vibe of the home and the great location. Located in the National Registered East End Historical District.
The Southern Victorian Cottage greets you with her charming white picket fence, original large windows, louvered shutters, restored “Double Tombstone” front door, 23k gold hand gilded house numbers and the haint blue porch ceiling. Custom outdoor copper gas lanterns bring a warm ambiance to the homes exterior. Romantic brick paved courtyard with large dining space for 6, professional landscaped and custom gas lanterns. Large bathroom with vintage styling.
The Happy House is your island retreat with original historic Victorian charm and endless amenities for guests and their pets. All you need to bring are your clothes, we have the rest covered.
Time slows down on the island and its best to slow down and take it all in. So We highly recommend walking or riding a bike to our favorite breakfast spot Sunflower Cafe and lunch at Mosquito Cafe both just a couple blocks from the house.
Included in your rental:
-Primary bedroom, 1 Queen bed and smart ROKU TV
-2nd bedroom, 2 Double beds
-Extra bedding if needed
-6 sets of bathing towels
-Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need (All Clad pots/pans, small appliances like blender, toaster, rice cooker).
-Paper plates/cups/utensils
-Kitchen spices/oils/hot sauces
-Living room as large Smart TV for all your streaming apps
-Blue Ray player if you decide to bring a gaming system to plug into.
-Full size washer/dryer located under the home in the storage area.
-Outdoor dining area with umbrella for shade.
-Large lifesize outdoor connect 4 game
- Keurig with K-cups and local coffee shop ground coffee, tea, water and snacks provided.
-Guest should bring toiletries but we have personal toiletry sets just in-case you forget something.
-Hair dryer and straitner
-Iron, ironing board and clothes steamer
-2 unisex bath robes that are perfect to relax in after a long day at the beach
-Gas grill/accessories with propane tank provided.
-Beach gear (wagon/chairs/umbrella/cooler/boggie boards/sand toys) and beach towels. A $200 rental value if you rent from the concierge or at the beach.
-Board games, card games (cards against humanity/uno/playing cards) and childrens toys available (please supervise young children for choking hazards).
-Dedicated work space.
-High Speed Fiber Internet.
-Books for all interest and many by local authors.
-2 adult bikes for guest use with locks.
-USB outlets beside all beds.
*Pets (dogs) are welcome at The Happy House for an additional pet fee of $100 per pet. If you have more than 1 dog then you must have host approval. Our home is not large and depending on the amount of humans staying the home may not fit multiple dogs. No breed or size restriction. Your pet MUST be added to the reservation so that we can make sure the home is set up for their stay with us. Owners must bring their own dog crate/food/bed. We will have treats, pet waist bags available with prior notice.
*All guest's names over 18 years of age need to be added to the booking.
*We strongly encourage our guest to purchase travel insurance. Due to our location on the Gulf Coast we experience many unplanned weather events that may disrupt your travel.

Guest have use of the entire property including under the home in the storage area. The home is elevated so there are 8 steps to get in/out of the home. The East End Historic District is a Nationally Registered Historic Neighborhood. We recommend walking, biking or even renting a golf cart to slow down and take in the charm of the 19th century architecture

Small 1" step down transition from entry into rest of house and same transition into kitchen. 1" step up transition in bathroom from wood floor to the tile.
