A stone's throw from the Sarphatipark , Museum square, the Rai and the Albert Cuyp market , we rent out former student residences for a short period of time, preferably for a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of one month. It involves two large bedroom
The blue studio's is one of the three studio's in our house. The Blue studio is situated on the third floor ( 48 steps high) and faces the backcourtyard of the whole neighbourhood. Right downstairs you can see my garden with my chooks and cat being busy with their lives. Blue is a private room with its own little kitchen and bathroom. It is not a fancy room but is has all the basics it needs and it is clean and tidy. In blue you'll wake up with the birds, no citynoice.
Our neighborhood is often called Cartier Latin: it is a melting pot of many cultures with many different cuisines: Dutch, Italian, Turkish, Arabian, Italian, Ethiopian, South American, Indonesian, Thai, you name it, it is all with a minutes available.
Also a great choice of supermarkets in the area open until 10 pm and after there are other shops open until after midnight.
Cinema is around the corner, as well as a bicycle rent as well as public transport, I have the cheapest public transportcarts here waiting for you, so don't buy anything expensive at the airport or station.
Also around the corner the biggest out market of Amsterdam; the Albert Cuyp where you can buy everything. Museum quarter is here, as well as the Rai.
Amsterdam is a small city, you can reach everything by feet and walking is the best way to explore the city.
Recently I wrote a guide, it is called: spots2B Amsterdam and it is written in English. It has six cool areas described in it with lots of ideas for good spots with the variety of: historical, cultural, shops, soft drugs, music, food & drinks, outgoing, beautiful places, things to do and free concerts. I have put a few photo's of it on my listing. You can order it together with your booking for 5 euros per book.
Nothing will be shared with others but the staircase. The room is totally private!
Closer to the date of your arrival we will tell you where you can find the keys or who is going to hand over the keys.Dotti and her daughter live downstairs, you can ask them for assistance when available. We although appreciate each others privacy and we will not interfere.
Amsterdam is a small city, the best way to experience it is to walk. Personally I don't like tourists on bikes, we are fast and routine d bike riders, usually tourist are slow and wandering around and that makes the situation extremely dangerous!
If you want to book for a shorter period than three days, this is only possible when there is that precise gab on the Calender.
It was my first trip abroad. Our plane was late. I lost the route to the house Dorothy. But she waited us until late in the evening, were treated to a delicious tea. And kindly answered all the questions. The Studio was good. Very cosy and warm. Large and soft bed. It was wonderful! And in the morning outside the window flew green parrots. )))) And is not the result of a coffee shop. They are real)) This trip I gave my mom's birthday. And it was the best vacation and anniversary. Thanks for everything! I hope we'll meet again.
Dotti has arranged our welcome in the studio, as she was not available the day of our arrival. This exchange via mobile phone worked well.
The room is cosy and comfortable and you feel welcomed as there are e.g. tea and some cosmetic articles at your disposal and - Dotti's guide which can indeed be a guideline for events and culinary advises.
The localization in the Pipe area is also excellent because it's convivial there with plenty of cafes and you are "obliged" to discover not only the central zone of Amsterdam.
The only drawback I can tell of are the mattresses which are too soft...
You have my recommendation to reserve there!
We stayed in the blue studio and the apartment was great. It was clean and very comfortable and had everything we needed. The location of the apartment was perfect, De Pijp is a really nice area and the apt is near the trams, which we used to get from the Airport, to Centraal Station and to the neighborhood of Jordaan (you can easily walk anywhere as well from this location, the city is very small) There were several great places to eat and drink in the area.
Dotti was away so we checked in with her neighbor, the process was all very smooth and easy. I highly recommend staying at one of her studios if you are looking to stay in Amsterdam!
Hola! Soy de Chile y en febrero estuve en Amsterdam con mi novia, todo fue perfecto, la atención de Dotti fue magnifica, nos estrego un mapa y un libro para visitar Amsterdam con los mejores tips y lugares. Muy recomendable! ;)
Dotti's Blue Studio and entire house was the perfect location for my first trip to Amsterdam. The neighborhood was extremely accessible to the rest of the city, and my roommate and I were always so excited to not only take on the city by day, but know we had a place that felt like home to go to at night. The bed was unbelievably comfortable and the studio was perfect. Great windows, and decoration. If I was to come to Amsterdam again, I'd hope that the studio was open!
Dotti studio is great! Well equiped kitchen, nice view, big bathroom and now there is a new lcd tv diferent from the one in the pictures. Dotti is also really nice and as long as you need her she well be helpfull. The only thing that i dislike was the internet conection that was really unstable, it went on and off several times. But the studio is just amazing, nice neighborhood with restaurants and markets close by foot and easy acess to the other city areas by tram.
Muchas gracias Dotti!
Dotti was an excellent hostess. From day she answered all our questions and we were greeted as such we agreed. In addition, she recommended some places to visit and eat, and gave us one of her Amsterdam guide which has a lot of information. Thank you Dotti!
We had a great stay in the blue studio. The Pijp area of Amsterdam is such a great area of the city! Dorthe was so helpful and friendly, and the book that she lent us (that she wrote!) was really great.
Dotti is really nice host!
The flat is incredible, is not in the center of amsterdam, but that is great, because you can go everywhere by walking, and also you can rest from the living night always.
She was really nice, and help us with everything!, the flat was just for us, really quiet and clean.
The apartment is in a great neighbourhood. The studio is small but has a large washroom. The kitchen is well stocked so we were able to make ourselves breakfast every morning. Dottie responded to all our e-mails immediately. We rented bikes from a place just down the street for several days and would encourage anyone visiting the city to do the same. There is a fine jazz club just up the street and many good restaurants in the area.Overall a good experience.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
