A stone's throw from the Sarphatipark , Museum square, the Rai and the Albert Cuyp market , we rent out former student residences for a short period of time, preferably for a minimum of 4 days and a maximum of one month. It involves two large bedroom
The blue studio's is one of the three studio's in our house. The Blue studio is situated on the third floor ( 48 steps high) and faces the backcourtyard of the whole neighbourhood. Right downstairs you can see my garden with my chooks and cat being busy with their lives. Blue is a private room with its own little kitchen and bathroom. It is not a fancy room but is has all the basics it needs and it is clean and tidy. In blue you'll wake up with the birds, no citynoice.
Our neighborhood is often called Cartier Latin: it is a melting pot of many cultures with many different cuisines: Dutch, Italian, Turkish, Arabian, Italian, Ethiopian, South American, Indonesian, Thai, you name it, it is all with a minutes available.
Also a great choice of supermarkets in the area open until 10 pm and after there are other shops open until after midnight.
Cinema is around the corner, as well as a bicycle rent as well as public transport, I have the cheapest public transportcarts here waiting for you, so don't buy anything expensive at the airport or station.
Also around the corner the biggest out market of Amsterdam; the Albert Cuyp where you can buy everything. Museum quarter is here, as well as the Rai.
Amsterdam is a small city, you can reach everything by feet and walking is the best way to explore the city.
Recently I wrote a guide, it is called: spots2B Amsterdam and it is written in English. It has six cool areas described in it with lots of ideas for good spots with the variety of: historical, cultural, shops, soft drugs, music, food & drinks, outgoing, beautiful places, things to do and free concerts. I have put a few photo's of it on my listing. You can order it together with your booking for 5 euros per book.
Nothing will be shared with others but the staircase. The room is totally private!
Interaction with Guests
Closer to the date of your arrival we will tell you where you can find the keys or who is going to hand over the keys.Dotti and her daughter live downstairs, you can ask them for assistance when available. We although appreciate each others privacy and we will not interfere.
Amsterdam is a small city, the best way to experience it is to walk. Personally I don't like tourists on bikes, we are fast and routine d bike riders, usually tourist are slow and wandering around and that makes the situation extremely dangerous!
Other Things to Note
If you want to book for a shorter period than three days, this is only possible when there is that precise gab on the Calender.
We like you to leave the room as clean as you found it, we don't mind smokers as long as they open the windows for fresh air. Gas and electricity is expensive so please turn of the heating system when you're out. People from some Nationalities open the windows together with the heather, for us that is the same as throwing money out of the window!
Dotti is a lovely host! And I loved my Blue Studio, facing the back of the house! It was nice and quiet and cosy. A real home to come back home to. For me everything was just perfect!
As the name suggests, this apartment is very basic, but ultimately cozy and comfortable for the price. Dotti was very friendly and made it easy to plan our arrival. She also provided us with a quick overview of Amsterdam and gave us a copy of a guide book that she had written. The neighborhood is slightly out of the way from central Amsterdam, but my girlfriend and I actually preferred to stay in the quiet and cute neighborhood of De Pijp. There was a beautiful park just a block away and the museum district was just a short 10-15 minute walk from the studio. The kitchen and bathroom were very dated, but we didn't expect to cook so that was not a big issue. The stairs are also quite steep, but not so bad without any bags.
One note: Our trip coincided with some major renovations taking place on the unit below ours, which lead to some early morning construction noises and seriously unpleasant fumes in our room on a few occasions. This likely won't affect future visitors, but we would have appreciated a warning before booking or upon arrival.
Really nice room with a very nice area. Especially if you're young, cause 5 min. from the appartment is the nicest area with bars and cafes! We will be back! :)
The studio was absolutely brilliant. I couldn't have thought of something better. Great location, loads of freedom and flexibility. I will definitely come back.
Me and my friend had a great stay in Dottis apartment! :)
Also when there were some little problems, Dotti had always a fast solution.
The apartment is not to big, has everything you need and is in a great place.
I can recommend you to stay in Dottis apartment too.
Had a great time at Dotti's apartment, it was ideally located away from the "Disneyland" city centre in a beautiful, green and quiet neighboourhood! There was everything you need for a short stay. Thank you!

Hi, I live with my daughter (16) and a Spanish friend downstairs, the studio's are on the first floor and on the top level. Since I run the studio's I look at my city in a more critical way and still I have to admit: it is beautiful, with all the history and its hidden secrets. Together with my colleague I have just written a booklet about Amsterdam in English for all foreign visitors. We are united in spots 2 b as a company now. In leisure time I like running along the river in the morning and I play tennis. I love cooking, eating, traveling, reading and listening to music. And I like talking with my visitors about Amsterdam and the rest of the world.
