  • Coretta was a terrific host and her place was exactly what we needed on our trip to NYC. Her place was in Brooklyn, close to the subway, grocery stores and restaurants. It was about a 15 minute subway ride straight to Manhattan! Coretta left us plenty of pillows, blankets, towels and toiletries for our stay. We also had everything we needed to make meals at the apt. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting NYC on a budget. Thank you so much Coretta! :)

  • I stayed in Coretta's apartment with a friend during our trip to NYC. We had a great time, the apartment was very clean and Coretta was a very accommodating host. The express A train was about a 9 or 10 min walk from the apartment and we took that to Midtown in under 30 minutes, so it was easy to get to the city. Overall we had a great stay, and it was nice to come back in the evenings to a nice, large, apartment outside of Manhattan.

  • Our trip to New York was great and staying at Coretta's place helped with that. The pictures of the suite were very accurate, and the suite was quite comfortable. The suite had everything that we needed, and the bed was very comfortable, but not the hide-a-way couch. Coretta was very accomodating with regards to the check-in and check-out. The neighbourhood was nice and clean during the day, but seemed a little sketchy at night. As young adults, we still felt comfortable at night and would not hesistate to stay with Coretta again.

  • The stay was great. It wasn't too far a walk to the express A train so getting to and from Manhattan was pretty quick. The pictures make the apartment look a bit more elegant than it was, but in all, it worked quite well for our needs. The shower head is tall which was a definite plus and the water pressure and temperature was fantastic. The bed was comfortable, but the futon and hide-a-bed were exactly what you'd expect with these types of sleeping apparatuses. All things considered we were all more than satisfied with the apartment in general. I would definitely recommend this apartment to friends for their stays in New York.

  • First, let me say that I had "warned' Coretta that my daughter and I were traveling from Syracuse by train and would arrive at the apartment around 10:30 pm; Coretta assured me that we could call her when we were outside the apartment and she would meet us with the key. Well, the train was late and we finally arrived in Brooklyn around midnight. Nevertheless, after we stumbled to the apartment and called, Coretta's husband graciously met us outside, helped us carry our luggage into the house, and gave us two sets of keys before leaving. A wonderful start to our stay!

The apartment is certainly large and well-equipped, there were beverages in the refrigerator upon arrival but I didn't know if they were for us or leftover from prior occupants, so we didn't touch them. The bed was surprisingly comfortable; I had probably the best night's sleep in that bed in the two weeks we were traveling. I got lost trying to find the local grocery store but once I did, it was, indeed, a mere 10 minutes' walk away. The subway was probably the same distance, although it seemed further since we were often dragging our luggage back and forth :) And we were allowed to leave our luggage in the place the day we checked out, so we could do some activities and come back to retrieve it before heading to JFK - very much appreciated!

I only have a few minor "complaints" - the neighbor in the apartment above who decided to vacuum her house at 7:00 in the morning (certainly not Coretta's fault); the lighting (I think eco-bulbs are in use; great for the environment but I personally prefer brighter lighting, especially at night); and the sacks of "stuff" sitting inside the apartment entryway, as you walk to the front door (looked like bags of trash - undoubtedly not, but not very appealing to look at several times a day).

All in all, we enjoyed the apartment, the neighborhood, and the location very much.

  • We liked the appartment very much. Very spacious. Pleasant bed and shower. Kitchen fully equipped. If the weather is right you can sit outside in the backyard. Neighborhood was interesting. Big supermarket 5-10 min walking. Nearest subway station local line 5 min walking, express 10 min walking. Very good restaurant 1 min walking.
On arrival the refridgerator contained several drinks and there were some tasty muffins etc. Coretta answered to our questions and needs promptly. We would definitely recommend this appartment to friends.

  • We were 3 people and there was ample space for us. Coretta was very very helpful in informing us about the neighbourhood. All promised facilities - wifi, tv and so on were working in perfect order.
Overall a very good and cheap place for visiting NYC. We even had some houseguests for dinner and Coretta helped us out with extra chairs.
