Check In
  • Ireland would not have been Ireland without our ideal location and wonderful hostess! The views were panoramic. The flat was clean, inviting, and convenient. Alison is friendly, knowledgeable and gave excellent advice. I would definitely recommend staying there.

    Response from Alison:

Thanks Myra - and not one mention of the quest to find the perfect shepherds pie

  • Alison's directions to the apartment were perfect, and my husband and I had no trouble finding it after getting off the Airlink bus, just on the other side of the river. The apartment was just as described on Airbnb- it's a fantastic and convenient location, and a beautiful space! We walked nearly everywhere during our 4 days in Dublin(over the St. Patrick's day holiday), only using the LUAS once when we were in a hurry. There is a grocery store just a 2 minute walk from the apartment, and we enjoyed shopping there and preparing food in the apartment. The concierge at the front desk was helpful when we needed help getting a taxi to the airport, because we were leaving before the bus service began. There was another person staying in the other room of the apartment, but we only saw her twice, and it was no problem at all. Overall, it was well worth the savings vs booking a hotel- and we loved having the comforts of home, even though we only booked a private room. We have used Airbnb apartments in 3 other European cities, and this one met all our expectations. Highly recommend this place!

Glad you enjoyed your stay Florent, you a re welcome back any time

  • Allisons place is perfect in terms of location, accessibility and comfort. The apartment is better than the pictures convey. getting around is easy- Temple Bar is a 15 min walk down the River Liffey. The apartment sits in a highly secure compound bang opposite the famous Jamieson Distillery in Smithfield which is now becoming the new address in town. There is an AIRLINK ( Aiport Shuttle Bus Express ) stop on the main road by the river ( 1.5 minutes from the apartment) - Stop is ARRAN QUAY-SMITHFIELD which gets you to and from the airport for 6 Euros per adult single trip. I would walk back every night around midnight and never once felt unsafe as a single female. The room has a stunning view of all of Dublin and since you have access to the entire apartment- gives you a wonderful sense of being home. Alison is charming and a warm and gracious hostess...would love to come back and stay with her. The only drawback is the noisy teenagers ( who live in the Generator Hostel across the street) screaming down the street in the middle of the night which might disrupt your sleep if you were jetlagged like me...but once you close the window...its as good as blocked out. I would definitely recommend staying here...

    Response from Alison:

Hi Andrita, Gld you enjoyed your stay and thank your for your review. Yes was a big Irish Rugby weekend - so a lot of exuberance from the tourists and sport fans staying in the Hostel on the opposite side of the square- this is unusual and I am very glad that the window being closed blocked it completely...thats triple glazing for you ;)

  • It was my very first time with Airbnb, and my first time in Dublin. I can say that I am completely satisfied and enthusiastic with this choice!
Alison is a very nice person who will make you feel at home or, even better, live a very comfortable experience in Dublin! Not only did she welcome us in a perfect way, she was very helpful, even in booking a taxi for the early morning departure, and she recommended us on what to visit. If you happen to have a chat with her, you can have a contact with the Irish culture and history – something not easy to ‘breath’ in a short visit to this town.
The apartment, as said, it is AMAZING! It would be worthy to spend all time staring at the amazing skyline from the wide windows of the bedrooms or even from the cozy livingroom.
Anything you can desire or expect from the perfect place to stay in Dublin, it is in Alison’s apartment. It is a added value to a pleasant visit to Dublin.
I will strongly recommend you this choice.
    Thank you Alison!

  • My friend Carissa and I loved our stay in Alison’s home while in Dublin. It was in a great location and within walking distance to the city center. We were able to get around Dublin very easily from where we were, including catching the Airlink to the airport. There was also a nice Italian restaurant, cinema, a nice café (recommended by Alison), and not to mention the Old Jameson Distillery steps away.

Alison was a fantastic host. She shared a lot of her knowledge with us and we really appreciate her hospitality. Her home is beautiful and the room was great and had amazing views. There was plenty of space for the both of us and everything was really clean and tidy. She even had towels for us, a hair dryer, and styling hair straightener for us to use. It was nice having a TV in the room (including DVD player & DVDs) to relax a bit after a day full of activities. She also allowed us to use her kitchen, which was really nice after traveling for so long. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed our time there. If you stay with Alison, you’ll not only be staying in a lovely place, but with a great person!

I am a dentist working in Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. I am English and moved to this wonderful city 7 years ago so I know it pretty well by now. I also have a home in Turkey and travel there as often as I can to pick up some sun....although the weather in ireland is better than its reputation suggests and I have very many sunny mornings drinking coffee on my balcony with great views as far as the Wicklow Mountains and the Dublin coastline I love to travel and when I am visiting somewhere - I prefer to spend time getting to really know somewhere rather than passing though it, and Dublin certainly deserves more than a passing visit and has a lot more to offer than Temple Bar and the Guiness Factory! I speak Spanish fluently, have a smattering of french, german and turkish - but I can usually find a way to communicate and connect with people wherever I am in the world. I enjoy live music, theatre and film. I am happy wandering or traveling alone - but also love to spend time with my dear friends and meeting new people. I can't live without good coffee, an internet connection, my dearest friends and family ...... and the freedom to travel and get away from all of the above from time to time ;) I enjoy traveling including planning trips as often as possible - but once I am away I try to be spontaneous and flexible and take things as they come.....whats's it like to have me as a guest........well hassle free I hope;) ....what's it like to stay at my place - well I would say its relaxed and easy going, with as much or as little conversation and privacy as you choose....
