Interaction with Guests
Some guests like privacy, while others like interaction and guidance on local attractions and events.
The creative tropical gardens and park like grounds go down to the edge of the river. We are surrounded by horses and luxury properties on one side and a river and famous, historic reserve and on the other side. The river flows down the entire length of our property and meets the KeriKeri Sea Inlet . A walking track leads to two waterfalls (considered the best walk in the area) & starts at our Lodge.
Great kayaking on the river and we have a private jetty.
It only takes 20 minutes to walk to town through the woods, and there are good local taxis and inter-city or major town bus services.
Other Things to Note
The P(website hidden) Lodge Estate comprises 2 acres of gardens and mature trees. There are creative, multi-tiered grounds offering many private and tranquil spaces. There is a gentle flowing river and wide views to the Inlet and adjacent, large Historic Pa Site. As such, we have plentiful and varied bird-life. Please respect our wildlife and do not feed the ducks.
The river is a fish reserve, so no fishing allowed. No children in the old boat shed (lower level) and no swimming without supervision of parents.
Please clean up well after your visit by washing, drying up and putting away all crockery, cutlery, glasses, dishes & pans. As we are subtropical, we would ask guests to kindly dispose each day of rubbish in our recycling area to avoid unwanted ants and insects. Please leave wet towels in the bathroom and close doors of units when leaving.
Drinking water is available from filter tap only.
Beautiful place - 10/10, highly recommend this cute, comfy and cozy place. Was a bit cold so we were given hot water bottles and extra blankets before we even asked! Cool! Also, there was some banana loaf left in the kitchen which we had a bit of, so nice :) kitchen and toilets clean - amazing work guys!
Thanks Stephen! Your generosity was most appreciated given the wet weather! TRuly a unique place... we'll be back!
I stayed at Pagoda Lodge for 2 nights, I wish I could have stayed longer! It was so relaxing and peaceful. The staff and the other guests all seemed super friendly.

About the Host, Stephen
The owners, Kathy and Stephen Frewen, spent more than 20 years in Asia and were immediately drawn to the harmonious balance of “earth, wind and water”. The pagoda roofs, the variety of rare and mature trees, the tranquil river and the abundant bird life all create a certain magic, now enhanced by the serene Buddhas from Borobudur.
