Escape to Vermont with @stayvermodern

Positioned right in the center of all that Southern Vermont has to offer, while still privately nestled in the Green Mountains. The chalet is a classic 1970’s Adirondack style cabin with the perfect mix of modern amenities and Vermont charm. Minutes to everything including multiple ski resorts, world class dining, legendary shopping, and some of the finest restaurants in Vermont.

The space
We believe that our well-being is deeply connected to the environment we occupy. Our vision is to create spaces that encourage you to connect with nature in a clean, comfortable, and minimalist space.

Centrally located so everyone on your trip will be happy and have plenty to do:

2 minutes to hiking access on the Appalachian Trail
4 minutes to our favorite restaurants
5 minutes to Bromley Mountain Ski Resort
8 minutes to shopping in Manchester, VT
17 minutes to Stratton Mountain Resort

The chalet has three private bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The eat-in kitchen includes everything needed for a night cooking in and a dishwasher for easy and hygienic cleanup. The kitchen is open to the inviting living space that includes a dramatic a-frame ceiling and windows, down sofa, original Harry Bertoia diamond chairs, and a wood burning fireplace stocked with plenty of wood to keep you warm. The mudroom includes a brand new washer and dryer and plenty of storage to keep your gear dry. The large deck on the front of the house includes a gas grill and outdoor furniture, except during the winter season. As expected, we include plenty of clean towels and all of the bedding needed for your stay.

The loft is considered the master suite and includes a cozy queen bed, private seating area, and brand-new bathroom with a shower. Wake up with bookend views out of the a-frame windows on both sides of the chalet.

The other two bedrooms are on the main level. One bedroom has a queen bed, an original Harry Bertoia diamond chair, plenty of room to hang clothes, and a wooded view out of the window. The second bedroom on the main level includes solid wood twin bunk beds, desk for journaling or setting up a laptop, and a wooded view out of the window.

The full bathroom on the main floor includes a tub/shower combo with a freshly tiled surround and a glass panel splash guard. An easy to clean marble topped vanity provides plenty of storage during your stay.

Both bathrooms are stocked with our favorite products including organic essential oil body wash, shampoo, and conditioner as well as hair dryers, cotton pads and hair ties.

Is there any technology in the chalet? Yes, of course. This cabin is the perfect work-from-anywhere cabin. We have highspeed Xfinity internet, a 50-inch smart TV including our house Netflix account, a Sonos speaker in the living room, keyless entry on the front door (remember your code – the door self-locks), a smart thermostat, and hard-wired carbon and smoke detectors to keep you safe during your stay. Cell service has not been an issue here.

Where you’ll be

Winhall, Vermont, United States

The chalet is located in a wooded mountain neighborhood off of a very well-maintained road. Once you turn into the neighborhood it turns into a dirt road, which at times in the winter can be slick due to the amount of snow we get. If traveling during the winter, be sure to travel in a car with good tires or all-wheel drive.

The neighborhood is perfect for coffee walks in the morning. We love walking the neighborhood. There are incredible mountain views, a small stream and waterfall, and potential deer sightings just a few steps away!

I am a native Vermonter with a passion for new experiences. I love to travel for good food and wine or experiences like snowboarding or hiking.

I was born, raised, and currently live in Vermont but traveled a ton for my consulting gig after graduating college. My work for a Big 4 accounting firm sent me across the US. My love for staying in new and unique places started here. As I traveled from state to state I got a front row seat to the uniqueness of each stay from small mom and pop establishments to some of the finest big-name hotels.

Even though I left the consulting gig some time ago, the traveling never stopped. Today, I work in finance for the fastest growing life insurance company in the US. I spend most of my free time with my family and friends dreaming up new Airbnb’s, ensuring my guests have everything they need for a luxury mountain stay in Vermont, and curating some awesome gear for my family’s men’s shop in Vermont.

Say what, consulting to clothing? My grandfather started a fine men’s shop in Rutland, VT back in 1956. The whole life has been spent in the shop, learning about owning a small business and the importance of customer service from my grandfather, father and uncle. My father and uncle run the shop today and in 2020 I began taking a more active role in curating goods and the customer experience.

It’s safe to say customer service runs in my blood. Through Airbnb I hope to provide an experience that I feel so fortunate to have living in Vermont. I want you to feel at home in the Green Mountains with a mix of luxury, Vermont charm and 5-star customer service.
