The location can't be beat!
Steps away from historic Grand Central Station and the United Nations Headquarters.
Walking distance to Bryant Park and NY Public Library.
1 subway stop (S train) from Times Square. Or you can just walk there, which takes 15-20 minutes.
Easy access to shopping centers: Bloomingdales, 5th Avenue, Flatiron, 42nd St, 34th St. Can take the subway directly to SoHo and East Village.
The neighborhood is safe and upscale. The apartment is on a quiet street (for Manhattan), but bookmarked by busy avenues. It is surrounded by many cute parks for spending a lazy afternoon people-watching.
There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The neighborhood is known for authentic Japanese cuisine. Many of the best Japanese restaurants in the city are only a few blocks away. The famous Sparks steakhouse and Smith & Wollensky (as featured in The Devil Wears Prada) are also nearby. Cipriani, Pershing Square Cafe, Grand Central Oyster Bar are some other famous restaurants in the neighborhood. Many other restaurants from all corners of the world: Turkish, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Chinese. Bonus: Ess-a-Bagel is only a few blocks away. Hunger is definitely out of the question!
Grand Central: 4, 5, 6, 7, S
53rd/Lexington: E, M
(Both lines are about 7-8 mins walk from the apartment.)
Since the subway lines covered include 4, 5, 6, 7, S, E, and M, it's very easy to go crosstown (Midtown West--including Penn Station and Port Authority Bus Terminal, Chelsea, West Village) as well as north-south (Upper East Side, Gramercy, Flatiron, Union Square, East Village, Financial District).
And since the apartment is on the east side, it's easy to get to LGA and JFK, with shuttles nearby at Grand Central.

Wendy es una anfitriona maravillosa, discreta y muy amable. Siempre dispuesta a ayudar y solucionar problemas.
La situación del apartamento es muy buena, cerca de Central Station, y la habitación grande y espaciosa con una cama muy confortable.
La vivienda limpia y se puede usar la cocina para desayunos y pequeñas cenas.
Nos hemos sentido como en casa. Totalmente recomendable.
Muchas gracias Wendy
Just returned from another trip to NYC and my second stay with Wendy at her lovely apartment in midtown Manhattan.
I had been hoping for the temperature in the city to be a little warmer, but it was always nice to return to Wendy's warm apartment at the end of the day. I also knew I would get a good night's sleep as the king size double bed is so comfortable.
Those not familiar with apartment sizes particularly in Manhattan, will realise that this one is quite large and spacious.
As mentioned in my review last October, the location is ideal for travel to any part of the city, with good subway and bus links very close by. It is also located in a safe and remarkably quiet area of the city.
Wendy was again a great host and helped to make my stay an extremely pleasurable experience. Thanks again Wendy!
Simple, clean apartment in a good location, met with friendly host. For details see the description of her listing and other reviews :)
Wendy is a thoughtful, careful, considerate and incredibly friendly host. She goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. Even more, she's a Breaking Bad fan!
The apartment is always clean and cozy. The room is spacious and includes everything you need (iron, TV, sofa chair, two closets). There's laundry in the building and the neighborhood has just about everything.
I would certainly recommend her place to anyone.
Wendy's apartment was perfect. My boyfriend and I rented her apartment for 12 nights during winter and kept us warm throughout our whole stay. Location was convenient as it was in walking distance from subways (10 minutes). It was clean, odor free and spacious. No complaints at all. The building conveniently had a laundry room and a 24 hour doorman who were all very welcoming. Wendy herself was kind, accommodating and very helpful! Such a wonderful host.
My stay at Wendy's place was perfect. The apartment is very clean and spacious. The location is great as it is close to Grand Central but is on a quiet street. Everything you need is nearby. And Wendy was a very thoughtful and friendly person. I would love to stay there when I visit NYC again!
Wendy and her apartment were AMAZING. I couldn't have asked for more. Her apartment is right in the heart of the city, less than 5min walk from Grand Central Station, huge, spacious, clean & comfortable.
The area is also safe & easily navigatable.
Wendy herself is a superstar. She always responded to my texts promptly especially when it came to questions on directions. She's very nice, very easy going and there's not a doubt i'd stay with her again next time!
I've lived in NYC for about 3.5 years now, I and absolutely love it. I enjoy sharing tips and recommendations about what to do in the city, but I actually also learn a lot from my guests! Some of my interests are: skiing, tennis, art, and technology. I look forward to meeting you!
