The location can't be beat!

Steps away from historic Grand Central Station and the United Nations Headquarters.

Walking distance to Bryant Park and NY Public Library.

1 subway stop (S train) from Times Square. Or you can just walk there, which takes 15-20 minutes.

Easy access to shopping centers: Bloomingdales, 5th Avenue, Flatiron, 42nd St, 34th St. Can take the subway directly to SoHo and East Village.

The neighborhood is safe and upscale. The apartment is on a quiet street (for Manhattan), but bookmarked by busy avenues. It is surrounded by many cute parks for spending a lazy afternoon people-watching.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The neighborhood is known for authentic Japanese cuisine. Many of the best Japanese restaurants in the city are only a few blocks away. The famous Sparks steakhouse and Smith & Wollensky (as featured in The Devil Wears Prada) are also nearby. Cipriani, Pershing Square Cafe, Grand Central Oyster Bar are some other famous restaurants in the neighborhood. Many other restaurants from all corners of the world: Turkish, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Chinese. Bonus: Ess-a-Bagel is only a few blocks away. Hunger is definitely out of the question!

Subway lines:
Grand Central: 4, 5, 6, 7, S
53rd/Lexington: E, M
(Both lines are about 7-8 mins walk from the apartment.)

Bus:
M

Since the subway lines covered include 4, 5, 6, 7, S, E, and M, it's very easy to go crosstown (Midtown West--including Penn Station and Port Authority Bus Terminal, Chelsea, West Village) as well as north-south (Upper East Side, Gramercy, Flatiron, Union Square, East Village, Financial District).

And since the apartment is on the east side, it's easy to get to LGA and JFK, with shuttles nearby at Grand Central.

I've lived in NYC for about 4 years now, and I absolutely love it. I enjoy sharing tips and recommendations about what to do in the city, but I actually also learn a lot from my guests! Some of my interests are: skiing, tennis, art, and technology. I look forward to meeting you!
