Dar Rbab is a 300 year old house in the heart of the walled medina of Fes. We have four rooms available, hence the other listings under Dar Rbab. This one is named after the Indian silk bedspread.
The room has a double bed and a separate single bed, so will sleep three people. There's a private, en suite bathroom down a short flight of stairs; it's a traditional hammam style, with tadelekt walls - basically a wet room.
We aren't running a maison d'hote or hotel; Dar Rbab is sometimes a family home to myself, my wife Ghizlane (who is Moroccan) and our two young daughters. When we are away, the house is run by S'Mohamed and our housekeeper, Aicha.
The house is in the region of 300 years old, and has all the features associated with historic houses in Fes. The centre of the two storey building is a courtyard, with pillars supporting balconies at the first floor. Access to all the principal rooms is by massive sets of cedarwood double doors, elaborately decorated and gilded on their inner sides.
The ground floor has a comfortable salon, courtyard and fitted kitchen.
Families with children are welcome.
We part own a Moroccan Tourist Transport company and are happy to provide quotes to take you on into the Atlas, the Sahara, the Rif, Marrakech and Essaouira. Rates start at 120 euros per day for an air conditioned 4x4/SUV, fuel, and an English speaking driver/guide.
An amazing house with nice peaple who care for your comfort. The rooms are adorable and absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was the best breakfast during the Marokko trip. But you really need not to go by taxi (for 150 Dirham) you can pick a Petit Taxis for (12 Dirham as well). I recomend to experience Fes on your own.
The photos don't lie - this Riad is a true beauty. Tastefully renovated with an eye for detail the rooms are rather sparsely furnitured. It surely is not a family home but a professionally run business. Knowing this you will have a great time here. We really liked the place and the other guests it (website hidden): we wouldn't have minded if breakfast had been a bit bigger.
tres beau riad, tres bon accueil, mohamed est vraiment de bons conseils, quelqu'un d extra, vous pouvez lui faire confiance pour vous envoyer dans de bonnes adresses. je recommande a tout le monde.
We had a wonderful time at the Dar Rbab. It is a really good accommodation for that price plus a very nice host. It completed our great time in Fes.
Our stay at Dar Rbab was great! The house is indeed very old and the atmosphere great. We also liked breakfast, which was something between morrocan and french. Regarding the medina and to find the place: I think it was great we had someone how showed us the way to the front door. However, the people offering their help can become quite anoying... just during our stay "OpenStreetMap" got an update an the Dar Rbab is shown at the correct location; I'd suggest to give it a try if you have a smartphone and are able to read a map :-)
Joli riad, bien décoré. L'endroit est cependant assez difficile à trouver.
Consigliato.
Dar Rbab is a lovely place to stay in the heart of Fes. The room was very comfortable with nice beds, hot shower, air conditioning and good wifi signal. The breakfast was also delicious and Mark was very helpful when we were trying to get bus tickets to our next destination, even offering us a lift into Ville Nouvelle.
My husband and I stayed at this riad for 2 nights in May, the location was not easy to find so we booked airport pick up with Mark and also had a guide to take us in and out. The room can accommodate up to 3 people but it was not clean, we had to wear our shoes in the room coz the floor seemed dirty, we weren't comfortable with the bed sheets and blanket either. The bathroom is dark as u can see from the pics, it's also smelly. Service-wide was ok, the staff helped calling his friend in the new town to get bus ticket for our next day trip to Chefchaouen and delivered to us without charging extra. But he's not very helpful when we asked for dinner recommendation, he ended up calling someone who took us to a restaurant where we had to pay a premium for a dinner set (they charged 250dh while it's usually around 80-120dh). We could have paid a few euros more for much better options and if you are on budget there are also better choices out there (the Spanish couple we met during our desert your said they paid less than 200dh to stay with a local family with clean rooms for 2 nights and they even cooked for them).
