Welcome To My Home!
Wow! Can you believe it? That beach you see in the picture above is just 200m metres from my home.
That’s right. It’s not a postcard or a stock image from some tropical island. That’s my beach! And if you stay at my place, it can be your beach – at least for the duration of your stay.
I live in a beautiful, contemporary home in the seaside suburb of Clifton Beach in Cairns. My street is very quiet, and just minute’s stroll from Clifton Beach (yep, the same one in the photo). It’s a very secure, prestigious and sort after neighborhood.
And it’s all just 40 minutes drive to Port Douglas and 30 minutes to Kuranda Village. Most of the main attractions are closer to my home than the city and tour operators will provide transfers to all of those attractions including the Great Barrier Reef.
The airport is 20 minutes drive to the South while the city centre is 30 minutes in the same direction in peak traffic. No matter where you stay in Cairns, I recommend a rental vehicle as driving here is easy and it will provide you with the freedom to explore the region in your own time.
The lifestyle here is relaxing and tranquil surrounded by nature and natural attractions in all directions.
If you choose to stay with me, included in your accommodation is a comfortable private room, quality queen bed, spacious bathroom, bath and separate toilet. I have 2 rooms listed on Airbnb.
Facilities include high-speed wireless ADSL 2 throughout the home, along with a BOSE 5.1 home theatre system with 70 inch wide screen television. You can download any movie on iTunes through Apple TV if you feel like staying in for a night.
I am also happy to give you information on how to get the most out of exploring the region from a local perspective, so you can avoid tourist traps and take advantage of our local “secrets”.
Things To Do And See…Just A Walk Away.
About 20 minutes walk to the North is Palm Cove, one of the most beautiful suburbs of Cairns. There are more than 20 restaurants/cafes along the paved street across from palm trees lining the beach’s edge. Eateries range from a choice of five-star gourmet experiences to take away fish and chips.
The new, modern Clifton Village Shopping Centre with Coles Supermarket, Australia Post, Banks, Medical Centre, Pharmacy and other specialty stores is a 10 minute walk. My favorite Thai restaurant is also here along with a pizzeria and excellent fish and chip outlet.
Cairns Night Zoo is also just a walk away too, about 15 minutes. It’s a world-class attraction featuring Australian native animals, including crocodiles, kangaroos, koalas, snakes and other animals. See website for more details.
Port Douglas (see photo) is 40 minutes drive north along one of Australia’s most famous drives (see photo). The road winds along the coastline with magnificent, breathtaking views of the Coral Ocean along the way. Mossman Gouge which is 20 minutes north of Port Douglas is one of my personal favorite places to visit.
Pristine Cape Tribulation is 120 minutes away to the north. This is where the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. The only place in the world where two world heritage sites come together. There are numerous free rainforest walks in Cape Tribulation.
Kuranda Village and Barron Falls (see photo) are just 30 minutes drive to the west of Clifton Beach. Kuranda is a boutique village with genuine Australian arts and crafts, cafes and tourists attractions, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region.
There are many other attractions within just a few minutes drive. These include the very popular Skyrail, AJ Hackett Bungy Jumping, Trinity Beach restaurants, Tjapukai Aboriginal Centre, Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures, Rex Lookout, James Cook University (JCU), Lake Placid, Copperlode Dam and Barron Gorge, just to name a few. I have often taken my guests to many of these places.
I own an ad agency and my office is located at the Shangri-La Hotel at the Cairns Marina in the city. My Airbnb guests have full use of the 5 star pool at the hotel with cocktail waiters and food menu on call. See photos.
Sunbus (public transport) into the city can be taken along the Arlington Esplanade along the beach, which is a few minutes walk from home.
Clifton Beach has BBQ’s, children’s playground and lifeguard beach petrol on duty.
There are cycle paths between Clifton Beach and all other beach suburbs and the rental company will drop off and pick up bikes from my home.
Come and enjoy one of the most naturally beautiful places any where in the world.
My aim is to providing a sense of belonging with a home away from home experience for my guests and I strive to ensure your holiday runs as smooth as possible in every way.
Warmest wishes and safe travels.
Time pending my friend Julie can take you on private, personalised day tour to Cape Tribulation/Daintree, Milla Milla Water Fall Circuit, Tablelands, Kuranda and many other areas for a reasonable fee.
Typically I try to be as flexible as possible because the most important outcome for me is that my guests have the best possible experience while they stay in my home.
So with this in mind I kindly ask my guests to exercise common sense, be considerate, respectful, clean and tidy while they're staying with me.

Hello, bonjour, hola, ciao, hallo, aloha...
I was born a traveler. From a young age, I’ve been lucky enough to live in a number of locations around the world. This has allowed me to meet people of many cultures and backgrounds. It’s an experience I cherish and it has largely formed my own love of travel and passion for building relationships with like-minded travelers.
My most treasured memories of travel are often measured by the positive experiences gained through contact with others. This is something I like to reciprocate to my guests here in Cairns, by being the best host I can through providing guidance and support to my guest where needed.
Airbnb is a fabulous way to accomplish this goal.
I am the co-founder of an advertising agency based out of Cairns. I often travel to Sydney, Melbourne and even overseas on occasions. My business partner and good friend Roberto is in one of my profile photos.
I enjoy open discussions over a meal, visiting nearby attractions with my guests, cooking, driving my cars, science (especially astronomy!) and, most of all, meeting people and making new friends. A photo with a group of my close friends is in my profile photos.
Travel safely and enjoy the wonder of Australia.
