About This Listing
Welcome To My Home!
Wow! Can you believe it? That beach you see in the picture above is just 150 metres from my home.
That’s right. It’s not a postcard or a stock image from some tropical island. That’s my beach! And if you stay at my place, it can be your beach – at least for the duration of your stay.
I live in a beautiful, contemporary home in the seaside suburb of Clifton Beach, Cairns. My street is very quiet, and just minute’s stroll from Clifton Beach (yep, the same one in the photo). It’s a very secure, prestigious neighborhood.
And it’s all just 40 minutes drive to Port Douglas and 30 minutes to Kuranda Village.
The lifestyle here is tranquil, relaxed and rejuvenating, it will nourish your soul. Experience it for yourself.
If you choose to stay with me, included in your accommodation is a large private room, queen bed, spacious bathroom, bath and separate toilet.
Facilities include high-speed wireless ADSL 2 throughout the home, along with a BOSE 5.1 home theatre system with 50 inch wide screen television. You can download any movie on iTunes through Apple TV if you feel like staying in for a night.
I am more than happy to provide airport transfers where I can free of charge. I am also happy to give you information on how to get the most out of exploring the region from a local perspective, so you can avoid tourist traps and take advantage of our local “secrets”.
My office is located at the Shangri-La Hotel at the Cairns Marina in the city. My Airbnb guests have full use of the 5 star pool at the hotel with cocktail waiters and food menu on call. See photos.
Things To Do And See…Just A Walk Away.
About 25 minutes to the North is Palm Cove, one of the most beautiful suburbs of Cairns. There are more than 20 restaurants along the paved street across from palm trees lining the beach’s edge. Eateries range from a choice of five-star gourmet experiences to take away fish and chips.
The new, modern Clifton Village Shopping Centre with Coles Supermarket, Australia Post, Banks, Medical Centre, Pharmacy and other specialty stores is even closer (see photo).
Cairns Night Zoo is also just a walk away. It’s a world-class attraction featuring Australian native animals, including crocodiles, kangaroos, koalas, snakes and other animals. See website for more details.
Port Douglas (see photo) is 40 minutes drive north along one of Australia’s most famous drives (see photo). The road winds along the coastline with magnificent, breathtaking views of the Coral Ocean along the way.
Pristine Cape Tribulation is 120 minutes away to the north. Here, the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. This is the only place in the world where two world heritage sites come together. There are numerous free rainforest walks in Cape Tribulation.
Kuranda Village and Barron Falls (see photo) are just 30 minutes drive to the west of Clifton Beach. Kuranda is a boutique village with genuine Australian arts and crafts, cafes and restaurants, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region.
There are many other attractions within just a few minutes drive. These include AJ Hackett Bungy Jumping, Trinity Beach restaurants, Skyrail, Tjapukai Aboriginal Centre, Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures, Rex Lookout, James Cook University (JCU), Lake Placid, Copperlode Dam and Barron Gorge, just to name a few.
Sunbus (public transport) into the city can be caught along the Arlington Esplanade, which is a few minutes walk from home.
Clifton Beach has BBQ’s, children’s playground and lifeguard beach petrol on duty.
There are cycle paths between the beach suburbs and a major shopping complex just 10 minutes drive away.
Come and enjoy one of the most beautiful places on our planet.
My aim is to bring happiness to my guests by providing a home away from home experience.
Warmest wishes and safe travels.
Time pending my friend Julie can take you on private, personalised day tour to Cape Tribulation/Daintree, Milla Milla Water Fall Circuit, Tablelands, Kuranda and many other areas for a reasonable fee.
Typically I try to do without rules as the most important outcome for me is that my guests have the best possible experience while they stay with me with effortless ease, comfort and fun.
With this in mind I kindly ask my guests be considerate, respectful, clean and tidy while they enjoy staying with me.
If you require something special like a favorite food, I am happy to buy it for you and have it ready when you arrive.
Sen was a fantastic host! He went above and beyond on making us feel comfortable and in his lovely home that is less then a 3minute walk to the beach. His home is a short drive or bus ride from the main area of Cairns (the Lagun, shopping, tourist areas). If you're booking tours & adventure trips I suggest you request the near by pick up locations that's a 5minute walk from Sen's home (contact Sen for the name). Sen had great advice and tips about where to book trips, local restaurants, transportation, and much more!
.Less then 3min walk to the sandy beach (won't find that in Cairns main tourist area)
.Tour pick-up location is a short 5min walk (1min drive)
.Lovely caring host who goes above and beyond to create a memorable experience!!
20min drive to Cairns, 40min bus ride
(It's a great little drive so it wasn't an issue for us)
We would absolutely recommend Sen and his great home!
Thank you very much Nathalie. It was lovely hosting you and Suzy and assisting you with transport, planning trips etc. It was really my pleasure as I wanted to make sure you got the most out of the few days holiday you had in Cairns.
I have to apologise for the bad weather you had in Cairns with the unseasonal rain, but I trust you managed to see and do everything you expected to prior to arriving in Cairns.
Just a small correction on spelling the word Lagoon. Which was put there as the city area does not have a beach. As a result Northern Beaches of Cairns, specially Clifton Beach and Palm Cove are highly sort after by tourists.
Take good care and happy travels.
It was such a pleasure having you and Rolf stay with me Andrea. Thank you so much for being such considerate guests in everything you did. Your energy and motivation was simply amazing and I think you saw more of the region that any of my other guests.
I am sure you will see a lot more of Australia before you leave Australia next January and I will contact you when I am next in Sydney and hopefully we will get a chance to have a meal or coffee together. Take care.
We had a great time in Sen's house while we were staying in Cairns for our honeymoon. Sen was such a nice man who was willing to help us to enjoy the time in Cairns. He helped us to book for activities and recommended good places to visit.
Sen's house is really lovely. It is located in a safe area and quite closed to a mall and restaurants. All the facilities in his house are good and useful. We remember that a wallaby came to the back yard and we took a picture with him. Overall, Sen's place is the best choice for our trip to Cairns.
It was really lovely to meet you and Hyeonsu and I enjoyed getting to know you over our dinners. I am sure you will always remember your honeymoon time in Cairns and some of the events that took place with fond memories.
All the very best with your new life as a married couple and I trust it is blissfully happy for you both.
As discussed I'd love to host you again, this time make sure to stay a little longer than 3 days. Keep in touch and thank you so much for the lovely card and gift you gave me.
Take care and warmest wishes.
Sen is absolutely fantastic. It's like meeting a friend in a new place. He was kind enough to spare time on a working day and drive us around, showing us where we could rent a car, grab a bite, shop for essentials etc.
His house is a stunning property, spacious, well lit, airy, very comfortable! Sen let us use his kitchen and washing machine, which was a huge blessing since we'd been traveling for over 10 days. He trusted us to lock up and leave when he was leaving for a business trip, which just goes to show how comfortable Sen makes you feel when you stay with him.
He also helped us plan our trip, so we got the maximum out of our short time in Cairns. I'm really happy I got to meet Sen, and hope we can stay in his lovely apartment again sometime!
I am so glad you had such a lovely time staying at my home Aparajita. I strive to make sure my guests are well looked after with their travel needs while they are staying with me. This is a service I can offer easily and it often makes a big difference to their overall experience.
It was my pleasure to host you and Arvind as both of you are fabulous, easy going guests with a genuine interest in meeting Airbnb hosts and fitting in, with a positive attitude. Thank you.
If I may make a small correction to your lovely review Aparajita for my future guests, my home is a free standing home with it's own garden and not an apartment.
I look forward to staying in touch and perhaps even get the opportunity to work with you at a future date.
I had a very nice time staying with Sen! His house is modern, clean, and comfortable and I felt at home immediately. The location was ideal for me to go to both Cairns and Port Douglas for snorkelling expeditions on the barrier reef, and my trip turned out much better because Sen helped me plan which sights to see and the logistics of getting around. Sen showed me around the area the first night, and took me to a grocery store, so that I was able to prepare the food I wanted for breakfast in his well-equipped kitchen. Sen was busy with work, but made time to have dinner with me 2 nights, and stayed in touch via phone. Traveling solo, I really appreciated having someone to spend time with, but also having the space to be alone when I wanted it. Overall, a great value, and really nice experience meeting Sen!
You're so welcome Aaron and thank you so much for being such a great and easy guest to host. It was my pleasure to spend time with you and I enjoyed getting to know you over the dinners that we shared.
I am glad you got the most out of your short trip to Cairns as I love sharing the region with my Airbnb guests when ever I get the opportunity and the time to do so. There is so much to see and do around here outside the main attractions that are unknown to the typical tourist. Sharing those little secrets is what I love doing the most.
All the very best getting back to work in China and stay in touch. Hope to see you again somewhere.
Sen kindly picked us up from where we were staying to bring us to his home. He made sure we felt at home, and we enjoyed a dinner together. One of our favorite things that we did with Sen was watch to fascinating documentaries with him. Thank you so much Sen for showing those to us! His house is located in a nice area, and it's right next to the beach. It's a little far from Cairns city (although we mainly went to Cairns to see nature, the beach, etc.) if you're taking the bus, but it is right next to a very pretty area called Palm Cove.
It was great to meet you Kate and Mohammad and thank you for choosing to stay with me. I enjoyed the riveting conversations we engaged in and the industry of commuter science and where it is headed is fascinating indeed.
I loved sharing and showing my favorite documentaries with you and I am glad that you found them so interesting.
All the very best with your studies in Australia and the travel you will be doing in the coming months to support your studies. I am sure you will excel with flying colors.

About the Host, Sen
Hello, bonjour, hola, ciao, hallo, aloha...
I was born a traveler. From a young age, I’ve been lucky enough to live in a number of locations around the world. This has allowed me to meet people of many cultures and backgrounds. It’s an experience I cherish and it has largely formed my own love of travel and passion for building relationships with like-minded travelers.
My most treasured memories of travel are often measured by the positive experiences gained through contact with others. This is something I like to reciprocate to my guests here in Cairns, by being the best host I can through providing guidance and support to my guest where needed.
Airbnb is a fabulous way to accomplish this goal.
I am the co-founder of an advertising agency based out of Cairns. I often travel to Sydney, Melbourne and even overseas on occasions. My business partner and good friend Roberto is in one of my profile photos.
I enjoy open discussions over a meal, visiting nearby attractions with my guests, cooking, driving my cars, science (especially astronomy!) and, most of all, meeting people and making new friends. A photo with a group of my close friends is in my profile photos.
Travel safely and enjoy the wonder of Australia.
