About this listing
Welcome to Seattle!
You will find a cozy and quiet private room and bath with a separate basement entrance just steps from Lake Union. A comfortable queen bed, WIFI, TV/Movies, washer-dryer access, microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker make this a small home away from home. Relax in a serene setting, opening into a beautiful back garden with a BBQ, outdoor fireplace, dining area, and plenty of nooks to read and restore.
We are one block from Lake Union in the Eastlake neighborhood; close to UW, Capitol Hill, Amazon, and downtown Seattle. Buses here run about every 15 minutes and will take you to all major city attractions. Street parking is also available with our guest pass. A short 3 block stroll will bring you to restaurants ranging from pizza to local organic, coffee shops, specialty grocery stores, Yoga, massage, and hair/nail salons.
The neighborhood is an urban mix of old craftsman homes, houseboats, and modern architecture with a handful of water-front pocket parks - friendly and safe in a convenient location. Walk/run/bike the Cheshiahud Loop Trail - a 6-mile loop around Lake Union, passing Gasworks Park and the eclectic Fremont neighborhood. Also close is the Burke Gilman Trail - a lovely paved pedestrian/bike trail winding around Lake Washington 27 miles, ending at Marymoor Park. You will also be within walking distance to kayak rentals, boat tours, and float planes to the San Juan Islands.
Our home and rental are dog friendly - we have a great rescue dog who enjoys her cat buddies, but looks forward to dog visitors. The back yard is completely fenced, and dog bed, leash, and bowls are provided. We can also direct you to several local off-leash dog parks. If you have a swimming dog, lake access is right around the corner.
We live upstairs and are generally quiet folks, (except during soccer matches!!) but you will hear the hardwood floors as well as normal house sounds. We do enjoy meeting new people, and a bit o' socializing, but will leave you to yourselves if you prefer. If you have booked 7 or more days, we will need access to the washer/dryer once a week at your convenience.
This residence welcomes ALL - PFLAG spoken here.

We spent six beautiful days at Dee & Adam's place. The room was exactly as described: warm, cozy, comfy bed, very clean and fully equipped with everything we needed (washing machine, coffe maker, tv ... ). The back garden was a pleasant surprise, very quiet and romantic, we spent there some wonderful time reading and having breakfasts. The neighborhood was quiet and really close to Lake Union and all kind of restaurants are just few walking minutes away. We rented a car at Seattle Airport so the Parking Permit Dee & Adam gave us was a big plus for us.
Dee & Adam were wonderful hosts! They gave us a lot of informations and suggestions and always answered all of our questions and needs but at the same time they gave us all the privacy we needed. Dee, Adam, lovely Hershey, JB and Luna are such a wonderful family, we really loved our time with them! We had a wonderful time and we will for sure stay here again next time we'll be visiting Seattle! It was our first experience with airbnb and it was great!
Dee was so kind and hospitable to us on our stay. She was available, but gave us our privacy. The room was very clean and ready to go for us. She even had a Keurig with coffee and tea for us. Side note--most places in Seattle do not have air conditioning at all. This room did not, but the evenings got really cool (in the 50s), so it was not a big deal.
This is a cute place with alot of character and a quiet, pretty, and relatively central neighborhood with a number of local northwest-type characters around.
It, is however, very homey--if you want something a bit less cluttered and more hotel-like it might not be for you.
We really enjoyed our stay in Seattle at Dee and Adam's place. They have used the space so well to create a warm, cosy and 'home to home' environment in their lovely home, which was also in a convenient location. The help and advice provided by both Dee and Adam (especially UBER!!) was second to none and made our short visit to Seattle so much easier for us - thank you both! We will definitely stay here again if we're lucky enough to visit Seattle agin. Thanks so much :)
What a great little spot in Eastlake! Cozy and private - perfect for a couple of nights for my husband and I. We were out and about so much and never needed anything when we were at the house, so we never actually met Dee or Adam. They were at work when we arrived, but we planned that ahead so getting into our space was a non-issue.
As mentioned in their description, we could definitely hear some creaky floors and house noises above us, but nothing that some earplugs couldn't take care of. Quiet neighborhood made it feel like we weren't even in a major city, but we were pretty close to everything we needed. Had the convenience of having our car with us, so can't comment on public transit. Easy little walk down to watch the sunset on the lake or slightly uphill to restaurants, etc. They also had a cute patio area where we just hung out, read and enjoyed the nice weather.
We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back the next time we are in Seattle. Thanks again Dee & Adam!
Very beautiful and cozy room! And their garden is amazing! This is my first time using Airbnb so I have to say Dee and Adam really made a perfect first impression. In the room there is pretty much everything you will need, including bowls and plates and disposable fox&knife. Definitely will choose them again if I go to Seattle.
Adam and Dee's place made my Seattle trip unforgettable. If you'd like to have a sunset run near Lake Union, have delicious food, and have a feeling of being at home, this is THE place you want to stay. Dee and Adam are wonderful and lovely hosts. They gave me complete privacy and still have plenty of chance to chat - the best way to know Seattle. Hersey and James Bond are also great friends.
We loved having you as well! Our sailing adventure had definitely added to your adventure. Come back and see us anytime - you are most welcome. Good luck in your Phd continuation - you deserve many good things. All our best, Dee & Adam. (And Hershey and James Bond)
About the Host, Dee & Adam
We are Adam & Doreen and Hershey the dog. A native Seattleite and a Geordie from Newcastle, England, we welcome you to our fabulous city and humble abode. We both love to travel, exploring the "back roads", farmers markets, places we've never been, hikes with our (best ever) dog, sailing, snow-shoeing, and all manner of adventure. Some of our favorite travels have been to Yorkshire, London, Paris, the Dingle Peninsula, Oahu, Santibel Island, and most recently, a fantastic road trip through the California Redwoods.
Adam is a computer whiz, working in CAD design and nuts for soccer, baseball & sailing. I'm in the mental health sector and have a serious attachment to my camera, shooting pictures as much as possible. In between work and travel, we also tend our city garden of flowers, vegetables and for the first time this year, grapes.
We're both easy-going, like to meet new people, non-smokers. Loving the Northwest, we can supply you with all manner of information on tourist sites including museums, parks, tours, day trips, kayak rentals, restaurants and pubs. I'm also a non-drinker, friend of Bill W, but Adam likes a Newcastle Brown Ale now and again, and of course talking soccer.
We look forward to having you share our little piece of city oasis. Cheers!
