About This Listing
Welcome to Seattle!
You will find a cozy and quiet private room and bath with a separate basement entrance just steps from Lake Union. A comfortable queen bed, WIFI, TV/Movies, washer-dryer access, microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker make this a small home away from home. Relax in a serene setting, opening into a beautiful back garden with a BBQ, outdoor fireplace, dining area, and plenty of nooks to read and restore.
We are one block from Lake Union in the Eastlake neighborhood; close to UW, Capitol Hill, Amazon, and downtown Seattle. Buses here run about every 15 minutes and will take you to all major city attractions. Street parking is also available with our guest pass. A short 3 block stroll will bring you to restaurants ranging from pizza to local organic, coffee shops, specialty grocery stores, Yoga, massage, and hair/nail salons.
The neighborhood is an urban mix of old craftsman homes, houseboats, and modern architecture with a handful of water-front pocket parks - friendly and safe in a convenient location. Walk/run/bike the Cheshiahud Loop Trail - a 6-mile loop around Lake Union, passing Gasworks Park and the eclectic Fremont neighborhood. Also close is the Burke Gilman Trail - a lovely paved pedestrian/bike trail winding around Lake Washington 27 miles, ending at Marymoor Park. You will also be within walking distance to kayak rentals, boat tours, and float planes to the San Juan Islands.
Our home and rental are dog friendly - we have a great rescue dog who enjoys her cat buddies, but looks forward to dog visitors. The back yard is completely fenced, and dog bed, leash, and bowls are provided. We can also direct you to several local off-leash dog parks. If you have a swimming dog, lake access is right around the corner.
We live upstairs and are generally quiet folks, (except during soccer matches!!) but you will hear the hardwood floors as well as normal house sounds. We do enjoy meeting new people, and a bit o' socializing, but will leave you to yourselves if you prefer. If you have booked 7 or more days, we will need access to the washer/dryer once a week at your convenience.

Dee and Adam made sure I arrived safely to Private Eastlake; even drove to pick me up so I did not need to ride a bus late at night.
Everything I needed was ready upon arrival; clean and tidy. The space was adequate for me. The bed & pillows were so comfortable plus extra blankets, which I love. The neighborhood was pleasant and quiet. I enjoyed eating my breakfast out on the patio table.
I would not hesitate to return to this site.
Dee was friendly and helpful; made me feel right at home.
Had a cozy three night stay with Dee and Adam. The private room feels more like a small private apartment with a nice adjoining garden area. Well equipped, comfortable and within walking distance to many eateries and coffee houses. Steps away from Lake Union, but limited access to the waterfront. Very convenient location to UW, Gaslamp district and downtown. Dee is very friendly, quick with responses to text or email, and full of wonderful suggestions for things to do and places to go. We wanted a full waterfront sunset experience and she recommended Alki Beach in West Seattle, which was amazing! Would stay here again! Thanks Dee!
It was a great little cozy place right next to Eastlake. The setup was quiet, comfortable, and really professional with virtually everything you would need for a short stay. We also had great fun talking with Dee and Adam, and they are very warm and knowledgeable hosts. Thank you!
Nice little garden apartment with easy access to Lake Union and Eastlake restaurants. Quiet, clean and cozy. Dee was a friendly host.
Had a great stay with Adam and Dee, the neighbourhood and lake views are lovely, and there are plenty of things nearby (there's a folder full of local attractions provided), whilst also not being too far from downtown. The room is a little unit in and of itself with its own washer, dryer, fridge, microwave, and a private entrance. Highly recommended!
Friendly hosts. Cute and clean place. Very beautiful neighborhood only one block to lake. Room had everything I needed. Highly recommend.
Dee & Adam made my boyfriend and my stay really stress free and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. Greeting us was a cute sign and a cozy clean room. We really enjoyed how close we were to the city (about a 2 mile walk or a quick bus ride) and the private entrance into the suite. The suite came with everything we needed for a two night stay, including a coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave as well as a desk area and spacious bathroom. My boyfriend, who is 6'7" had a little issue with the size of the shower, but for me at 5'3" it was fine. We highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a private space that is near the city without being downtown.
About the Host, Dee & Adam
We are Adam & Doreen and Hershey the dog. A native Seattleite and a Geordie from Newcastle, England, we welcome you to our fabulous city and humble abode. We both love to travel, exploring the "back roads", farmers markets, places we've never been, hikes with our (best ever) dog, sailing, snow-shoeing, and all manner of adventure. Some of our favorite travels have been to Yorkshire, London, Paris, the Dingle Peninsula, Oahu, Santibel Island, and most recently, a fantastic road trip through the California Redwoods.
Adam is a computer whiz, working in CAD design and nuts for soccer, baseball & sailing. I'm in the mental health sector and have a serious attachment to my camera, shooting pictures as much as possible. In between work and travel, we also tend our city garden of flowers, vegetables and for the first time this year, grapes.
We're both easy-going, like to meet new people, non-smokers. Loving the Northwest, we can supply you with all manner of information on tourist sites including museums, parks, tours, day trips, kayak rentals, restaurants and pubs. I'm also a non-drinker, friend of Bill W, but Adam likes a Newcastle Brown Ale now and again, and of course talking soccer.
We look forward to having you share our little piece of city oasis. Cheers!
