Hi ... I hope I can be your host and offer a great experience staying in my city centre apartment !
I check my email constantly and endeavour to reply to all emails very promptly as I know it helps you plan ... PLEASE CONTACT ME TO CONFIRM AVAILABILITY BEFORE YOU SEND A BOOKING REQUEST ... Thanks!
This listing is for a very comfortable double couch bed, (that sleeps two and I've classified it a real bed as it's better than most!) in my living room where you will have SOLE use of at night for sleeping with full bed linen and towels provided. In the daytime as its my living room its a shared space :)
In this apartment I also offer two double rooms ('Dublin city centre home from home' 1 and 2), each with a large bed for two people.
People book through airbnb to get local information and a friendly welcome in your host's home rather than a neutral sterile apartment - I hope you will enjoy your stay in my home with myself and any other guests visiting Dublin. Dublin is a great city - ready to welcome you!
I usually offer my couch only when 'Dublin city centre home from home 1 & 2' is unavailable and particularly for short stays of one or maximum two nights ... so check the availability of each listing on it's calender as they can differ ..... - its always worthwhile to message me anyway - thanks!
It's nice to know who might be coming to stay so if you can please fill me in just a little on your group and your overall travel plans!
I live in Dublin city centre in Smithfield just 10 mins walk from the heart of Dublin and it's principal 'boulevard' O'Connell Street and the cool social/bar/restaurant quarter - Temple Bar.
I am 4 minutes walk from the Luas (tram) Red line which is a direct link to the National Convention Centre.
In addition there is a host of shops/restaurants/bars located just steps from your Dublin home from home - see the gallery of pics for some cool places at your doorstep!
I have a lot of experience in hosting people and showing people my city – I love talking about recent irish history and my apartment looks onto the Four Courts building – one of the many historical buildings in Dublin! I can leave you to your own schedule or am happy to suggest good things to do and see, both in Dublin and in the surrounding countryside and beyond .... from galleries and museums to shopping to country / historical walks – just ask – I am happy to point you in the right direction – Dublin awaits you!
There are many tourist attractions such as Jameson Distillery and National Museum, Collins Barracks along with the famous Cobblestone Bar, renowned for irish music and a good pint of Guinness, right at your doorstep! Just across Dublin's prinicpal river, the Liffey, is St. James' Gate - home of Guinness since 1759!

Rory is a wonderful host, very helpful and a friendly person.
He gave me all the informations, good addresses, and best things to do during my visit.
The appartment, very well located in Dublin, was clean and the atmosphere cosy and friendly. I had a great time with Rory and his assistant Romuald.
I definitely recommend the appartment, and I hope to come back and see them again.
Thank you very much Rory and Romuald.
Rory was a great host. He was not only hospitable and welcoming, but also had tons of ideas and recommendations for my time in Dublin. I highly recommend Rory as a host.
Rory was extremely friendly and very helpful! Although the room I initially inquired about was not available he offered and arranged the couch for my stay. Very approachable and easy to contact.
The stay with Rory was as expected, clean, well put together and easy. He was friendly, a good help when needed, and a great help in transport. The location is easy to walk to, with some great places around. We continue to recommend him!
Staying at Rory's was a lovely and seamless experience. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and made sure to be available when I had any questions or needs. When I arrived, he helped me with my bags, gave me a city map, and went through all the best sites on it with me. It was literally like staying at a hotel, but nicer and more personal. The location was perfect; easy-to-find, kitty-corner from a deli, and an easy walk to most of the rest of Dublin. I will try to book with him every time I come back to Dublin.
Staying at Rory's apartment was one of the best decisions we made in Ireland! Rory was an excellent host providing plenty of directions, suggestions, and travel tips even before we arrived in Dublin! It was such a relief to have someone so helpful directing you how to get to his place and providing a list of great restaurants, pubs, and places to visit.Rory is witty, easygoing, and extremely accommodating; the perfect host! Rory went out of his way to make us feel at home and help with our tour and travel plans. Be sure to take a Wild Rover tour if you are looking to see more of gorgeous Ireland!
The apartment was very clean, nicely maintained, and suitable for 2 to stay in a room or a larger family/ group to use the whole apartment. It was perfectly convenient to all the great sightseeing in Dublin and possible to walk if you have the energy or take the close-by tram or inexpensive taxis. A great deal for any traveler and a perfect place to stay and experience Dublin!
Can't wait to return!
This time I was simply transiting through Dublin, to catch an intercontinental flight in the early morning. Rory was very kind and helpful. He waited for my late arrival in the evening and provided me with very useful information to plan my trip back to the airport the following morning, and a very comfortable bed for the few hours of sleep I had in front of me. Rory is also located in such a central and convenient area of town that made connecting with the airport so easy and inexpensive. Great value accommodation for those traveling on a budget.
A very relaxed atmosphere and Rory is a wealth of information. Ask him about booking on tours!!
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
