We had such a lovely time at Lucia's Apartment and didn't want to leave! Lucia was easy to communicate with, very friendly and left us a bottle of local wine which we enjoyed on the rooftop terrace of the apartment. Everything was in walking distance and we especially liked the market and the arancini shop over the street! Great beach nearby too, at Fontane Bianche. We so recommend Ortigia and hope to come back some day.
Nice apartment, great for exploring the area on foot. Parking is hard to come by on the street but a pay parking lot is less then a block away. Checkin was very easy. The terrace has wonderful views of the area and makes a great dinner spot.
The B&B by Lucia enjoys a prime location in the charming historic district of Ortigia in Siracusa. There are many nice restaurants in the neighbourhood and a nice market and good breakfast-and lunch store around the corner.
The view from the apartment and from the large roof terrace is great. Very pleasant to sit there. Lucia gave us a good welcome with a bottle of wine and personal assistance in finding a parking place. Parking in the area is free, but many places are for permit holders that you should know.
The apartment is suitable for 8 people. But then there are not enough seats. For four people it's perfect. In the living room there is a sofa bed with Loft bed. We have not slept here because it get very warm in the morning in this room. In the bedroom one floor down it's fine sleep. Cool and quiet.
We have had an excellent stay at Lucia. Can recommend it to everyone.
Just wonderful! Sebastiano and Lucia were very friendly and helpful with lots of useful recommendations. There was even a list of favorable restaurants and some travel guide books for further information. The apartment is ideally located, at the entrance to Ortigia, free street parking can be found around the corner. There is a bar/cafe downstairs and a street market across the road where you can buy fresh food for cooking. The apartment itself was recently refurbished and very clean.
The kitchen was well equipped and basic groceries for cooking and breakfast including a bottle of tasty wine were provided! Access to the bedroom over a bridge/stair construction is unusual but it is very quiet downstairs at night. Highlights are definitely the two small balconies and the private roof terrace with a great view at the Apollo Temple.
Sebastian and Lucia are a lovely couple and contributed to a very enjoyable week. Simple instructions to reach the apartment from Catania airport using public transport were provided ahead of the trip and we were greeted upon arrival. The apartment was simply furnished but complete for our needs and the use of the roof top terrace was a special bonus. The location of the apartment is superb, being just a short stroll to the many bars and restaurants of the wonderful old town of Ortygia. Despite its central location it is very peaceful for sleeping and we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed week in the sunshine!
I can only send my warmest recomandation for staying at Lucias place. She is a great host and we felt safe from the first correspondance. She answered quickly and she was available for any questions. The apartment felt fresh and clean and she had also left us a welcome greeting which made us feel at home:-).The location is close to a local market, with seaview(from two sides) from the apartment and a historic sight just outside the window. The area is cozy and the atmosphere is authentic with its sounds from the local market and cafees. Furthermore there are great restaurants in the area(lucia gave us the suggestions). Ps 50m from the door we found a great fishrestaurant with excellent seafood and service.
About the Host, Lucia
