The Space

Come and enjoy the feeling of Tyrolian furnishings including a luxurious canopy bed. There is a large and sunny balcony from where you can sit and relax while taking in the beautiful mountains and valley of the Zugspitzarena.

The kitchen is very well equipped. Washer and dryer are available downstairs. Apartment located on the first floor (2nd floor USA).

We are just 10 km from the German border and 25 from Garmisch Partenkirchen - away from the touristy, beaten paths. Spend hours hiking, biking, golfing, 'shrooming or swimming in lakes with spring water and in winter skiing, snowboarding, Xcountry, snowshoeing, sledding and apres-skiing. A new large middle station is being built summer 2012. That should be great to visit.

WiFi is available free at our apartments.
Flatscreen TV and DVD player included.

Use of the local pool is also free of charge (check season - approx. May to Mid-October and Christmas to Easter). Sauna at additional charge.

In the summer you can use the lifts to start your hiking up a little higher. There are numerous paths to wander on. Two sport shops offer guided hike tours - some are free of charge to our guests. They also offer rafting, biking, rock-climbing for hire.

There are children's playgrounds available; one with really neat little pedal cars. During the summer holidays the community hosts a play afternoon with moonwalk and other attractions. (Weather permitting.)

The house is located at the end of a cul-de-sac. We have a pedal car, swing set, slide and sandbox in the garden. Just a short distance down the road you can ride a real summer toboggan.
For you golfers there is a 9-hole golf course with some of the prettiest (website hidden) back riding is available in the next town.

Make sure to plan on visiting Castle Neuschwanstein and the often forgotten Castle Linderhof. Just two of Ludwigs II. castles in Bavaria - a 40 min. drive from here. In Garmisch there are the Hollental and Partnach gorges to explore. Great for hikes and hearty lunches at those beloved alm huts. Garmisches shopping area has many of those lovely painted mural buildings.

There is a paddle boat ride on the Heiterwanger See (summer only). A private animal and play park for the little ones, fortress ruins to explore (Reutte) or visit Innsbruck just an hour away.

What would Tyrolia be without good hearty eating? Just ask and we'll tell you some of our favorite places in the area.

There is a sleeper sofa in the living room and a roll bed in the 2nd BR for a total of 7 beds.

Ehrwald (email hidden) for a mountain experience. Hope to see you here soon.

We're a German / American Family (Dad / Mom). We now live on the Austrian side of the Zugspitze just 10 km away from the border and 25 km to Garmisch Partenkirchen. We used to live between Dusseldorf and Cologne. We also rent out lovely flats here in Ehrwald. But we also like to travel. Two boys, both 16, live at home. I work out of the home, my husband commutes to Stuttgart every week. We love skiing (I'm the worst), the men like biking, we hike and my favorite hobby right now is mushroom hunting. My family has survived over 20 years of wild mushrooms. We visited Marokko and Barcelona this year and Paris upcoming. Last year we visited Disney Orlando where are oldest was working at the time. I personally am quite humorful, strictly non-smoking due to allergies and adore my family. In my earlier life I worked in Marketing in the automotive and electronic industries. (Detroit, Cologne). We all look forward to new experiences and meeting people. It is difficult to find new friends, everyone has so much to do in their lives, but sometimes it works out and it is just fun to meet nice people anytime.
