Charming apartment in a building of 1600 in the heart of Florence.
Perfect for a couple with a cozy loft bed, and even with the addition of a sofa bed for two or one children (or maybe for the third wheel!), this pied-à-terre recently renovated, offers all the comforts of a modern environment, conceived and designed on a daily use, since is usually occupied by the owners, often traveling for work. Inside, a fully equipped electric kitchen, a very silent washing machine, HD LED TV with DTT broadcasts, large closet, a small and intimate bathroom with shower also adjustable for a vertical jet.
Situated within the ancient walls in the district of Santa Croce, you will be immersed in the local culture, with the close and lively market of Sant 'Ambrogio and his busy small square, perfect for a glass of wine and an happy-hour at sunset (and free WiFi). Only 5 minutes walk from the most famous monuments like the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Giotto's bell tower and its Baptistery, the Uffizi Gallery, the Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti and its magnificent Boboli Gardens, and too many still to be seen. Alternatively, also the nearby urban bus lines 06 or C2 will take you in the central Piazza Santa Maria Novella in about 15 minutes, and a few meters away, located on the viali (our boulevards), with line 13, you will reach the picturesque Piazzale Michelangelo in few minutes, where you'll see the plateau of one of the most recognizable skylines in the world (for information on public transport visit (website hidden)).
And do not forget to leave some time for shopping, Florence is well known throughout Italy for its hand-crafted, and competitive manufacturing high-level, either in the world of fashion, jewelry and furnishings, often recognizable on the population. All the historic center is sprinkled with small shops and local craft brands, the choice is yours.
Oh yes, I can spend few words on food if you want, but still it will not work. Food is an amazing experience, it's "the art", make and destroy...and well, guess what, in italy we do it at least 3 times a day, everyday, and apparently we do it pretty swell, so with our advice you'll not forget it, I swear.
Now the bad things: parking is one of the biggest problems even for us, locals, and with our central location, we do not recommend to arrive by car, having regard to its uselessness in the town center, and its expensive and difficult parking solution... walk, or possibly rent a bicycle is highly preferable and objectively cheaper, funnier and healthier. However, there are private garages located not too far from the apartment, and they like honey, we can easily help you to find one of these, or when possible, an other solution.
We are a family of travelers, and we have always had in our blood this sense of hospitality, labor and conviviality. It will be a pleasure to inform and introduce you to some places or sites off the beaten path from the traditional tourism (sadly inevitable), the less chic and more cheap 'n' cheer restaurants and bars, and the less publicized local events, to at least try and keep the memory of a beautiful city and the people, that is what we seek in a successful holiday, and it's what we expect you to have.
Anyway, enjoy Florence, it is a beautiful place...Ciao belli!

Il piccolo appartamento di Ale è molto carino, pulito e in una posizione comodissima: peccato essersi fermata solo due notti!!!!
Great location, nice comfy apartment that has all the basics. Apt was a bit cool in the evening, but there's a heater. Overall a very good experience.
We had a great stay at Ale's place! He was very easy-going and accommodating to pass the keys at our arrival time, and his apartment is the perfect base to explore Florence. The major tourist attractions are within walking distance, yet it was very quiet at night, slightly away from the tourist masses. The apartment was very clean and cozy, feeling very spacious with the bed aloft. It also has a lot more charm than your average hotel room! My only complaint is that we could not warm the apartment as well as we would have liked in the cold December weather. If you're coming in warmer months it should not be an issue! I would strongly recommend anyone visiting Florence to stay here. Thanks Ale for a great stay! I rubbed the snout of Il Porcellino - so I hope to be coming back!
It was just as advertised & I had a lovely, comfortable time in this apartment. It's good location & you have access to just about everything via walking or by bus. I enjoyed it & would recommend it to everyone!!!!! THANK YOU TO BOTH ALE & HIS VERY GRACIOUS MOTHER. Stephanie Nov. '13
This apartment is great value - location was perfect for me, its homely, well equipped and warm, bed is comfy as, there was limoncello in the fridge yum!, and Ale is lovely. No problems, felt safe and happy and would stay here again. Thank you!
We had a very nice stay in Ale's apartment. It is very well-located, you can reach all the main attractions within a 15 minute walk. The apartment is very cosy and has everything you need. There are lots of nice restaurants and shops around and Ale gave us some nice tips. Also Ale's mother, who welcomed us, was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again at our next stay in Firenze!!
Great stay. Ale is a real pro - very communicative and considerate. His place is in a great neighborhood and you can walk to most of the major sights in 10-15 minutes.
My wife and I enjoyed staying at Ale's apartment. It's in a great location, and it has everything that we needed during our stay. The internet worked fast, and the kitchen was stocked with all the pots and pans needed to cook meals. Ale was very friendly, too. I highly recommend staying here!
Ale was waiting for me right outside the apartment when I got to Florence. He made my whole trip there easy and enjoyable. His timely communication and lists of places to visit were both top notch.
We spent two days in this nice flat. It is well situated in the heart of the historic area, just a bit away so you are with the actual fiorentinos and not with the tourists ( about a 15 minutes from the duomo or palazzo vecchio.
If you have a car , you must look for parking sant ambrogio before going to the flat. It is very close, then you walk to the flat. You wont need your car during your stay.
The flat is exacltly as you see it on the photos. In spite of being in the ground floor it is very quiet as the street is a pedestrian one.
Ale is very easy going host.
