Close to the coast, ‘The Hollies, Dorset’ is a mid-terrace single story cottage in a pretty village 5 mins stroll from an excellent pub. Easy access to local towns, beaches and visitor attractions inc Lulworth, Durdle Door and Monkey World.
3 bed (2 double, 1 single) *fold-out bed for extra child. Big well-equipped kitchen. Cosy lounge.
Enc rear garden, 2 parking spaces, dog friendly (please enquire) & super walks from the doorstep.
A relaxing, quiet spot for a couple or small family.

The space
Light, comfortable and contemporary rooms featuring a modern kitchen with big dining table and bifold doors straight out onto the garden. A patio area in the enclosed, rear garden has an outdoor table and chairs for summer dining and a portable BBQ to cook on.
Heading from the kitchen towards the bedrooms and bathroom, an open plan lounge offers a cosy, 'real effect' electric flame fire.
Both the front double and single bedrooms look out onto the pretty garden while the back double bedroom features a skylight with a remote solar powered blind and up-lighting.
Between the bedrooms is a modern fitted bathroom with a p-shaped bath, overhead shower and heated towel rail.
A lovely setting and quiet location for guests looking to get away from it all, with a village green at the bottom of the lane for ball games.

From the drive the front door is reached via 3 steps up and along a paved path.

🦮 Dogs MUST accompany their family out-and-about and not be left alone unattended at the property.

🐑🚜🐴 ‘The Hollies’ backs onto farmland with livestock, so we politely request you pop your dog on a lead when you arrive and don’t let your dog and children run-over our neighbours lawns 🌷🪻. Our rear garden is private and enclosed.

🦋🐝🐸🦊🐞🦔 Wildlife friendly, we sometimes have hedgehogs visit the garden - if you’re lucky you may see one! Please do not leave out food for them, (though a dish of water is fine 💦).

🏡 Be mindful we are mid-terrace and respectful of our neighbours who live here and of our shared areas with them, such as the drive and front path. This is essentially a quiet spot for a relaxing break.

Neighborhood highlights

Chaldon Herring is a little gem of a village. A quiet, rural farming backwater on the edge of the Jurassic Coast with past connections to a group of renowned artists, writers and philosophers including Sylvia Townsend Warner.
Tucked down a no-through lane, The Hollies is just a short drive from historic Durdle Door and picturesque Lulworth Cove or, for enthusiastic walkers, a direct hike over the hills.
Visitor attractions such as the Lulworth Castle, Tank Museum and Monkey World are approx. 15 mins drive away, with Corfe Castle and Studland a short drive on from the Saxon town of Wareham.
There is an excellent pub in the village, The Sailors Return, that serves great home cooked food and is dog friendly (booking is advisable).
For those who love great, fresh local produce and cooking, the nearby local farmshops of Jurassic Coast or Kate’s provide all you need for the makings of a delicious dinner or picnic lunch and there is a friendly village shop with a Post Office counter in Winfrith for all basic essentials, local honey and gin, pastries and gifts.

I love living in the countryside and close to the sea and enjoy spending time with my family and our pets. We are lucky enough to have amazing quality farmshops nearby that stock locally sourced food and produce. I enjoy being outdoors and in the garden, painting, walking and horse riding.
