Enjoy a stylishly designed room with the most comfortable King size bed overlooking our garden. Located in expat neighborhood right between Louise and Chatelain.
Our neighborhood is known as one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Brussels with its bars, restaurants, upscale shops and a tram right around the corner that brings to the midst of the touristy areas within 3 stops. See detailed (website hidden) maps on our pictures
The area is called Châtelain in Ixelles and (as you can read online) is known for its bobo chic feel, its upscale stores on Avenue Louise, its easy accessibility to all tourist areas and being one of the safest areas.
This is also why our neighborhood is very much liked by expats as it feels quite and peaceful all the while being in the center of Brussels.
As read on Tripadvisor:
"This is one of the loveliest areas in Brussels with lots of restaurants, bars, shops and "multi-national" hippy yuppies all. On a sunny day, you might struggle to find a place to sit down for a beer. If you love shoes shopping, you must go to De Griff where you can find discounted designer shoes. "
Below in the description are more comments found throughout the internet about our neighborhood (Châtelain)

AS PER VISITOR COMMENTS ON OUR NEIGHBORHOOD READ ON TRIPADVISOR
***"When I manage to get home early enough in the summer on a Wednesday, one of my favourite activities is to go the Chatelain market and meet with friends and soak up the atmosphere. It usually becomes a big street party with people spilling out on the street not only at the market, but also in the neighbouring bars. The market itself is a proper market with some food stalls dotted in between. Then there are some stalls where you can buy wine/champagne either by the glass or by the bottle at very sensible prices. And if you feel like it there are oysters available as well. All in all avery pleasant way of spending the early evening. "
***"I have lived in Brussels for only 4 months. I live 5 minutes away from Place du Chatelain by foot, and it is one of my favorite places because it is lively and very fun. Go on a Wednesday and it is a guaranteed good time...lots of people watching, food merchants, people to meet! "
***"Place Chatelain is a busy place with a very nice ambience. On the streets around Chatelaine you will find plenty of bars and places very you can just have a snack or it a gourmet meal. Foods from Libanon, Italy, Asia etc. Wednesday's afternoons there is a food market, but also many people come to have a drink and meet up with friends after work. Whatch out - on wednesdays it can be tricky to find parking in the neighborhood. Chatelain is one of my favorite places in Brussels, I love to go there in the summer when everybody is out enjoying the great atmosphere! "

Most important of all, please feel at home
It's been really great to stay with Elf & Garret. Both have made me feel really at home and have made my move from London to Brussels much easier. The best thing I take from the time I've spent with them is the friendship they have offered. I'll be looking forward to staying in touch.
(see also my prior review)
Elf & Garret (as well as their dogs Mambo & Droopy) made me feel very welcome and very much at home, so much so that I asked to stay with them again. Their recommendations regarding where to go (and where not to go) have been of fantastic help and the times we've gone for dinner or a drink have been great fun, too!
The room is tastefully decorated and quite spacious, and the bed is big and very comfy. The area in which the apartment is located is great as well. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars close by. The public transport connections are also very good. You can get anywhere quite quickly.
All in all a highly recommendable place to stay in Brussels!
Very good location and absolutely clean room. Elf and Garret gave me so much good advise and information, it helped me a lot. Also they runs a cute cafe near VUB(University).
Elf and Garret are really nice people and I had a great stay with them. I went to Brussells to meet up to work with some friends and most evenings were spent with late dinner discussions. I would come home late, with a small candle burning in the hall, for me to not enter to total darkness. Very nice. :)
In the morning there would be coffee in the kitchen and the neigbourhood very welcoming for nice shops, a glass of wine and light lunches. Elf and Garret has also a whole set of maps and suggestions if you wish to be a real explorer. :)
Even though for few hours only I've much appreciated the hospitality of Elf & Garret and the nice and clean room offered by them; Mambo and Droopy are both adorable; I'll surely be back there.
Elf & Garret are wonderful hosts, just fantastic people in general. I would not have been able to navigate the city so well and find so many good places to eat. The well appointed room has a desk that overlooks a beautiful garden. The king size bed is very comfortable and there is plenty of space to store your stuff. The dogs are very friendly and are used to having "new friends" around. Ixelles is a vibrant and fun neighborhood. There's wonderful food, a hip, young vibe and plenty of shops to browse. I would definitely stay here again.
Elf and Garret's lovely apartment in Chatelain was absolutely perfect. From a freshly baked cookie upon arrival to the cozy room, it was exactly what I was looking for.
Elf was extremely helpful both upon arrival and departure and I would recommend this to anyone traveling to Brussels!
