This apartment is offered at a fair price in a neighborhood with much to recommend it. We were met at the appointed time, and Daniel responded promptly to email queries.
While the apartment depicted in the advertisement is the one actually rented, the address listed on Airbnb and confirmed in the booking documents is NOT the address at which the apartment is located: that building bans short-term leasing of the Airbnb sort. This made for a bit of awkwardness when encountering other residents on the stairs.
Furthermore, the address listed in the original booking was much more desirable because it was further from the noisy intersection this apartment overlooks. With traffic and pedestrians who become quiet only after 2.30, the intersection becomes noisy again around 6.30. If you plan to go in the summer, you will need ear plugs and sleepmasks as you will want the windows wide open at night for a comfortable temperature.
Several problems noted in earlier reviews also persisted in July 2015, such as the fact that the apartment was spottily cleaned. From our arrival, the shower drain was also completely blocked, risking flooding every time and creating a mess on the shower floor as well. Moreover, getting in and especially out of the shower would present a significant problem to anyone with concerns about balance, or to anyone bigger than us (140 lbs.): you must step up and down through quite a narrow opening, and there is no hand-hold. The step is about a foot high (30 cm), and the entrance about as wide.
The apartment was exactly how it was described. The location was great! Close to the metro and very convenient. Nice restaurants and a grocery store very close by. We really enjoyed our stay in Paris! Thank you Daniel!
Good location in the Latin Quarter with easy access to metro. Simple accommodation and decoration, but comfortable bed and fold-out couch. Shower was VERY small, but everything else is nice!
PERFECT PLACE TO ENJOY PARIS! The location couldn't be better, situated next to the Metro in a quiet but vibrant neighborhood. The accommodations were wonderful, all you could need. Everything was at hand: boulangerie on the corner and magasin and market up the street. Plenty of cafes nearby. For the independent visitor to Paris, this is the place. Merci beaucoup, Daniel!
Daniel was a very nice host, the communication with him was uncomplicated. Even if it is not as clean as in a hotel, we spend a great time and would stay there again. We felt really comfortable in the apartement, which was exactly the way it is described in the announcement.
The location is absolutly perfect to discover Paris, the Metro and shops are quite near and you feel like a real Parisian. We had no problems during our stay.
The apartment is smaller than it looks on the pictures, but it is perfectly located just next to the metro station. Daniel is a good host, very responsive and will meet you on time, whenever your appointment is. It is located in an old building, not luxurious, but is equipped with everything you need, so you can buy stuff from the local shops and have dinner at home. Which is something you cannot achieve in a hotel. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood nearby, so you will really enjoy your time there.
Downsides - it is in an old building, looking a bit strange, curious neighbours. It needs a bit more cleaning before guests getting changed. The shower is a tiny one - only 60x60 and is 30cm from the floor. So to get in is a real challenge, especially if you are 100kg+(if you are 110+ forget about being able to get in and take shower at all). The second bed is actually a sofa, which is not very comfortable. Good WIFI, TV.
Overall - very good location, good host. Some downsides. Suitable for 2-4 persons.
