There are the 6½ hectare heritage-listed Botanical Gardens just east of Barkly Street and the O'Donnell Gardens with its towering palm streets located right next to Luna Park. Much of St Kilda's coastline is also lined with gardens, stretching from the formal Catani Gardens along Beaconsfield Parade southwards to open expanses of lawn fronting the golden sands of St Kilda's (website hidden) Kilda is good base for exploring all that Melbourne has to offer. Very welcoming, beautiful little space. Short walk to the heart of St Kilda.
We had a wonderful weekend in Melbourne.
Karen's studio is great, everything you could possibly want and need! It is in a fantastic location, only minutes from bars, restaurants and shops on Chapel St.
Karen was more than accommodating, allowing us to check out late as we had an evening flight.
Would recommend for sure!!
An excellent place to stay that was both cosy and so close to all that Melbourne has to offer. Karen couldn't have been a better host and recommend anyone staying in Melbourne to seek Karen out not only for her amazing hospitality but also the wonderful accomodation.
I arrived quite late but was given precise directions to the unit. it was easy to access as the unit was very identifiable due to the Latin wording shown in the photo. In the morning, I met the host who lives upstairs.
I stayed in the private studio on the ground level for several days and the upstairs bedroom within the apartment unit for one night. Both were quite nice though the upstairs bedroom and Karen's apartment was particularly appealing.
Karen has a beautiful and mellow Great Dane that I volunteered to take for a walk one morning. There is a nice park nearby where we walked too. It made me feel like a local!
The unit is within walking distance of Chapel Street but also is quite close to the St. Kilda light rail stop. This stop takes you directly to CBD Mel in about 15 minutes.
Karen and her daughter prepared a nice cheese spread one evening, which we all shared.
Karen also put me in touch with a doctor at a clinic as I was having a minor health issue.
Her partner also gave me a ride to the nearby airport shuttle pickup location on the day of my departure.
Just one of the best experiences I have had with AIR...
Had a great week in Melbourne and although it was wet, windy and cold for most of the time, I was very warm in the studio. It delivered everything the description promised: it was quiet, very private and comfortable; with great little bathroom and kitchen, and only a few minutes from the trams.
No natural light, but bright and well lit inside.
Thanks Karen for friendly reception too! Advice and all the extras made it feel very much like home.
Karen was very welcoming even before we arrived she was in contact with us to ensure that we didn't have any problems. The area is terrific. Central yet not in the middle of the city. The place although small, it was warm and cosy and had an adequate kitchen and good shower. Bed was comfy as well. Absolutely fine for a couple.
