Interaction with Guests
As much as you need, but I respect the privacy of my guests and hope they do in return.
Everything is walking distance and the beach is close. There is some construction on the walk down to the beach but when you arrive to the beach it's beautiful.
Uber or Taxi or lyft. we do not have great public transportation
you will have access to the patio and Jacuzzi for an additional fee. You will also have parking that is private and in back and private entrance. No parties please.
I stayed at the studio apartment for a full month. Carrie is a great host, very kind and sweet. She always responded quickly and made every effort to make me feel welcome and accommodate any needs I might have. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and very pleasant. The downtown area is a short walk away and has many places to go. The beach is also a short walk away. As for the studio, it is perfect. It is private and well kept, inside and out. The bed and pillows are comfortable and the bathroom is clean. The wifi and tv worked well. There was a lovely welcoming basket, which I did not expect, and Carrie even made sure the studio was nice and warm in the relatively cold weather in which I arrived. She also has some good books in there. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The room was very quite and clean...the area very presentable....the downtown area within walking distance.
Carrie was a pleasure to deal with, and responded promptly to my booking request. Her place is beautiful and features a really pleasant courtyard with a jacuzzi and patio table which is great for working a bit outdoors, which is never a problem in El Segundo. I booked one of my colleagues here for a week and he enjoyed it: Carrie was generous and lent her bicycle to my colleague for use during his week stay. The room itself was very tidy and well-decorated, and she had put in a very nice snack basket with fresh fruit, cookies, croissants and wine that was very welcoming. It was a great place for my colleague to stay and a nice alternative from the otherwise characterless hotels of the area.
Unfortunately we did not meet Carrie whilst we were staying but Carrie responded to my e-mails and once in the apartment, there was information about the local area, making our stay more enjoyable. Local beach was about 3-5 min drive away and was under construction so we drove to Hermose and Manhatten beaches which were lovely and only 25 mins away. Bed was confortable and washing facilities were good. Plus only 10 min drive from LAX.
We never met our host(ess) but we got welcoming emails from her.
The location was perfect for our needs and it was very quiet and serene. Bedding was comfortable.
We would book again.
Carrie is a wonderful host and her guesthouse is a beautiful, private and comfortable space. I would recommend it to anyone. It's spotless, close to the airport and beach, in a lovely neighbourhood, and Carrie has put so much extra thought into everything she makes available to her guests, making her guests feel welcome, comfortable and safe. On top of that, she is kind, welcoming, and totally responsive to anything that you might need. I would hope to stay here again if I'm ever back in the area.

Originally from upstate New York, I visited California when I was 20 and loved it so much I decided to stay. I have now lived in El Segundo for over 20 years. I am a professional businesswoman in medical imaging and I work for General Electric, where I lead and support a healthcare team in sales and marketing. Before my career at GE, I was the CEO and president of my own advertising agency. I discovered Airbnb in 2012 and it has since become a passion of mine. I spend most of my time traveling, whether for work or adventure, so I know what travelers need and want. They need comfort, a nice clean bed, an affordable place to stay that is close to everything, and a friend. I love helping people, hosting, offering fine service to make them feel at home while they are away. I also help my visitors that are looking to relocate with an excellent real estate agent referral. As I mentioned, most of my time is on the road but there will always be a note on the door or someone at the house to help. Some of my favorite destinations are the south of France, Belgium, Germany, Asia, and Costa Rica.
I have one son, Tyler, who goes to a university in California and wants to work for Airbnb corporate someday. Tyler helps manage our Airbnb website and rental. He also helps with operations when I'm not available. We both love Airbnb because it connects travelers with locals and has a culture of great, accountable service.
I am a social butterfly and blessed with a lot of amazing friends. I enjoy going to yoga everyday when I'm home and like to ride my bike to yoga (I'm a corporate America hippy).
I am part of a professional choral group and enjoy opera, jazz, contemporary, and world music. My favorite movies are: The Internship (old corporate hard working people that do have something to offer the young millenniums' ), Harold and Maude, Being John Malchovich, Notting Hill, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Midnight in Paris.
As a hostess, I will greet you and give you an overview of the town. And, of course, I will leave you to your privacy. If you need anything, I am a knock or a phone call away. I have a stroller, highchair, and small baby bed if needed. I live in the front house and dogs are always welcome. You have your own entrance in the back. I love children and they are welcome too. Disneyland and Hollywood are very close.
My purpose in life is to give. Airbnb helps me with this by allowing me to share my home with others!
