Room #1 shared house near downtown

House - Private room · Embarcadero Rd, Palo Alto, CA 94301, United States

The Space

We're an eclectic and international mix of guys and girls from early 20s to 30s. We work hard (startups, Stanford, NASA etc.) but like to kick back on the weekends.

- Downstairs room
- Internet, washer, dryer, etc.
- A place to make home :)
- Cool housemates to hang out with

The room is upstairs. Bed/sheets provided. You're free to use the kitchen, hang out in the garden, watch TV (we have hulu plus and netflix), surf the web, and make it your home while you're here. There is also a washing machine and dryer.

It's a pretty relaxed house and a great place to come drop in on if you need a place to stay for a bit.

Location is at Middlefield and Embarcadero, a few steps from the 35 bus line (runs frequently/directly to downtown). It is a quiet family neighborhood, 15 min walk or short bike ride from downtown. Plenty of street parking if you have car.

Other Things to Note

Not that we are big into rules but just a few things to note: The room is for one guest. Sorry, no pets.

  • This house is in a great location and seems to always be filled with interesting (in a good, worldly way) people. Ben was nice, accommodating, and easy to communicate with. I had to change my departing flight and leave a day earlier and Ben updated the reservation and refunded me instantly. The house is not immaculate but that's expected with 6 people in and out of the house everyday. This house is the best way to stay in Palo Alto, meet great people, feel welcomed, and not spend a lot of money. He also let me borrow his bike!

  • Ben and his roommates are really nice, chill guys and they made me feel welcome right away. While I just needed a place to crash for a few nights, "the Shire" feels very home-y and is a great place to hang out. The description is accurate when it says that the house isn't a good place for neat freaks, so that's something to be wary of, but it's a great option for someone who doesn't mind some mess and is looking for a cheap place to stay in Palo Alto.

  • Ben's house is a special place! All guys are extremely friendly and hard workers! Has been a pleasure!

  • Ben was a great host, very accommodating and responsive when my flight came in late. If you are much taller than six feet you are going to have trouble with the low ceilings, but for the rest of us it's a perfect way to spend time in Palo Alto.

  • The reservation was canceled 6 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • Staying with Ben & the crew was a blast! The accommodations were pretty solid and the guys made me me feel 100% at home. The 4th of July barbecue was the bomb!

  • Ben and the guys in the house are super friendly with the relaxed californian attitude i quite like. They work hard, so they´re around mostly in the evening. The house is great, just one of that Palo Alto houses with a more student-y flair to it...
