We had a wonderful stay at Mina's home. The location is perfect (we both know Seoul, and it was great to stay at what we consider as the nicest area, with a very nice choice of cafés at less than 15 minutes by walk, nice resstaurants, and a trendy selection of shops).
The house itself is as depicted, clean, very spacious with a bright living and cosy rooms. Mina gave many clear explanations and we were surprised by the speed with which she replied or reacted to our messages.
A great place to discover some of the most interesting faces of Seoul.
If you are travelling with 3 young kids and 3 luggage plus a baby stroller like we do, get MINA to arrange the meet and greet from the airport ( especially in wintry conditions ) it will cost you KWR$100,000 in cash. The slopes and steps to the house did not deter us. Walk down Samcheong-dong is nice. Restaurants, cafés, convenience stores, retail shops aplenty and great bonus is the the Bukchon Hanok Village that is within the area as well. Bus 11 brings you to City Hall, Seoul Station, Dongdaemun easily. Cost KWR$500 for adults. The apartment is actually withinthe city centre limits. Nearest metro is Anguk on Line 3 ( about 20 mins walk away if you are not distracted by the shops along the way ) Mina's place is a home away from home. Under-floor heating is adequate for the 3 bedroom apartment ( we only have access to 2 ) there's a queen bed in one room and ondol with futon sleeping in the other 2 rooms. Plenty of space for the kids to move around. Washing machine is available. Everything is provided in the house. Mina sent a hair dryer when I requested. She is very helpful pre trip providing info requested and upon arrival suggested several useful tips. She also prep address cards with phone numbers in case you need to tell cab drivers when heading back home after a tiring day. Wonderful stay ...thanks Mina.
My family and I booked Mina's apartment for a whole week. It was nice, clean and cosy. My parents especially, were happy with the place as it was spacious with good facilities provided. Seoul was quite cold in November, especially for us who are from Malaysian, a hot climate country. So we really appreciate the heater, piping hot shower and lots of thick blankets!
Finding the apartment is not easy initially, so we got the taxi driver to call Mina and it was easy once that was settled. There's a bus 5 minutes from the apartment that goes directly to subway station. But we also enjoyed a nice walk to the station, that takes about 15-20 minutes. We walked to Gyeongbukgung, Cheongdukgung and Bukchon Hanok Village. There's also a 24-hour mart 10 minutes from the apartment. It's very safe to walk around proven by the fact that we always returned past 11pm with the streets deserted.
Mina is very easy to contact. We can ask her anything and she'll reply the same day. And she'll also supply things that we need very fast. I was extra appreciative that she took the trouble to help us print our boarding passes and book a van to the airport.
Everyone of my family is happy with the apartment and if you are traveling in a group, with no walking/hiking problem, you should really consider Mina's apartment.
My two friends and I enjoyed very much staying at Mina's appartment that made us feel like if we were in a house in Seoul. The area is right at the bottom of the mountain with a nice breeze in comparison to center Seoul. So many good restaurants, cafés and cute stores are in that neighborhood and at walking distance. Plus you get very easily to center city, the train station or a subway with the bus 11 that is right at the bottom of the street, only 2mn walk from the house. Mina is extremely helpful for whatever question you may have. We highly recommend that place to enjoy a stay in Seoul.
Located in a nice, traditional area (with a lot of Hanokhouses) we stayed for a short week in Mina's place. The house is located close to the woods (only 5 minutes walk), restaurants and coffeebars, shops, palaces and public traffic (bus 11 is only a few minutes from the house).
It's a trendy area, great to walk around, in which it is more difficult to find more authentic Korean food. And most of the restaurants close early here (09.00 p.m.). But the house is located close to Insadong and other nice areas where restaurants are openend until late in the evening.
To get to the house will take some climbing stairs and small steep streets, but when you're there it's great. Mina helps you with your luggage, which was very friendly. The house is nicely decorated and clean, the rooms are spacious, the view is great (especially from the roof garden) and all the things you need are there. It's a relaxing place after a day in busy Seoul.
We would recommend this place to other airbnb travellers.
Mina has a wonderful little house in a quaint part of town. It's tastefully designed and cutely decorated. Literally a few minute walk to the best coffee shop-laden area of Seoul, full of great small shops. I enjoyed staying there, loved the huge window and large living room, and found the bed quite comfortable.
As others have mentioned its not an easy walk if you are infirmed in any way, but if you are healthy it's a short 3-minute walk to the main street. It's only really an issue with luggage - other than that I thoroughly enjoyed the fresher air and quietude, an oasis from the crazy hustle and bustle that is Seoul.
We want to thank Mina for being such a wonderful and caring host.
The house is located on a scenic hill and easily accessable by a short walk up the stairs.
Access to the nearby subway is easy, just take a 10-15 min walk down a beautiful road with many restaurants and coffee-shops -or take a 5 min ride by bus or taxi.
Living room, bedroom and kittchen are decorated very tasteful and are equipped with everything guests need.
We stayed in Mina's house during very cold winter days and the heating system turned all rooms into a very comfortable temperature -I loved the heated floors!
We are planning on staying with Mina again after our return to Seoul, which is scheduled for beginning of April.
Once again thank you very much for providing us with such a fantastic place.

It was a little heart shocking when we read an almost negative reviews submitted by one of her previous guest just right before we check in. I admit that i was a little anxious as we were on a family holiday. My parents is the skeptical type.
The very first reason we chose this unit, we find that it is practically near to most the places we wanted to go and it is said that we need to walk approx 20mins to the nearest subway minus off the short walk from the house. Minah has provided us with various road plans and directions to the places we wanted to go. If you could read map, i am sure you can pretty much estimate the distance and journey. this was what i did before deciding to secure my bookings with Minah. Around the neighbourhood, lovely!!!! if you are a coffee lover, this is a small paradise for you.
Overall, my family love the place, is clean, neat and well -equipped. Very cozy indeed. If you are looking for a place to experience a local culture, this is a place. We loved the experience of the 5 - 10mins walk to the house, as seen on Korean dramas. It was lovely that Minah offers her help to help my mother to look for genuine korean ginseng. And indeed, her recommendation was great. the price we gotten is far cheaper than in flight duty free. Credits to Minah's daughter, April!!!
For sure, i am back i will certainly stay at the very same place again. As, i did not completely explore the neighbourhood well. It was just a 4nights stay and is never enough. Cheers and thank you for your hospitality Minah!!!! Kamsahamidah!
Mina and her family accommodated us very well and were happy to answer any queries we had before, during and after our stay. We arrived late in Seoul and Mina kept in constant contact with us while we were on the bus to ensure we got off at the right bus stop. From there we took a short taxi ride to the house.
The house itself was very clean and was big enough for a group of 5 like us. Mina provided us with a lot of amenities (like shampoo, soap, towels, etc) as well as basic kitchen utensils which we used as we cooked at home a lot. The bedding was very comfortable and Mina provides pillows and thick quilts which kept us warm during the night. As we arrived during the cold winter, we always used the floor heating which is located throughout the house. The area around the house is very safe as it is located behind The Blue House (Prime Minister's Residence) so there are a few police guards patrolling.
The house is located on a hill so it can be a bit of climb especially if you have large bags to carry up like we did. The route to the house can be confusing and long at first but after a while it is easy to remember. Transportation from the house is also easy. There is a bus stop at the base of the hill which can take you to Gyeongbok Palace, the National Folk Museum or Seoul station for less than 1000 Won. If you prefer, you can take a taxi which come by often though that depends on the time of the day as at night there are not many. We found that taxis were cheap to catch from anywhere in Seoul so we used them often to get home. Just mention Samcheongdong and most will be able to understand where to go. Note that taxis will stop at the base of the hill so you will have to walk the rest of the way.
If you are hungry, there a lot of food options within a 10-15 minute walk of the house. These options include Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Indian and some cafes. Some places also close late so you can go searching for that late night snack if you are hungry.
This was out first time in South Korea and Seoul itself and it was very nice for Mina and her family to help us with all our enquiries. We would highly recommend this house for any visitor especially families and groups. Next time when we're in Seoul, we are definitely staying here. Thanks Mina!

I am not quite sure why Mina describes this apartment as close to the metro....it is at least 15-20 minutes walk! This apartment is set in a small community, almost village like, a few kilometres from the centre of Seoul. Although the apartment has large picture windows these are both an advantage and disadvantage. The apartment is light but the views are disappointing. Directly opposite the apartments is a military barracks, not the best of views. the other proble is that these large windows do not have any blinds or curtains. This means that everything you do can be observed by the military but worse, the very bright street lights shine directly into the living room and they are bright! One of the amenities is a washing machine, but this is in a private part of the apartment and only accessible with the owners permission. We did query with Mina if we had the whole apartment to ourselves and was assured that we did. This is not true since there is another part of the apartment that Mina uses as her office. It is rather disconcerting to arrive back at your apartment and find the owner has let themselves in when you are not there. The apartment is described as for 5 but in terms of kitchen equipment, plates etc we struggled and there were only two of us. There wasn't even a tin opener.
Getting to the apartment is also something of a struggle. The apartment is at the end of a long alleyway that includes several sets of steps. It is not accessible to disabled people and this should be made clear. You would also struggle with a pram.
Overall, although Mina tried to be helpful, our stay was a disappointment. It didn't help that it was minus 15 degrees and snowing heavily while we were there in early December.....this was bad even by Seoul standards.
One good point, the shettle bus (number 11) terminus is only a few hundred yeards from the apartment and it only takes 10-15 minutes to get into town (Seoul station).
I am sorry that you weren't satisfied during your stay. However, I am disappointed very much too from your reviews, because you said everything was "ok" when I asked several times. If you let me know what was needed more during your stay, those trivial things could have been accommodated. Also, I think you had a wrong knowledge about the location of my place. My place is the most near to metropolitan city (Gwanghwamun) of Seoul which is a walking distance from the house. This place is the only unique place that you can experience Korean history and culture at the same time. There are only 5 palaces (Gyeongbokgung, Deoksugung, Gyeonghuigung, Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung) in Korea and all of them are walking distance from my house. Also, Presidential and Prime Minister Residences are all located within 5 minutes on foot from the house.
