We stayed only a night at Vida, our last night in Costa Rica, we had a very early flight the following morning. we had been staying on the Eastern ocean side of Costa Rica in a tiny village called Manzanillo and needed a place near the airport for our last night.
despite the very short stay, we really enjoyed the place. Isabel was very welcoming and showed us all around the place. she gave us a nice map of Alajuela, too. it was such a homey, cozy place and I felt right at home. a lot of travel books, books on Costa Rica and cool traveling things on the walls. we stayed in a room off of the main house called the Garden Room. it was tranquil and I loved the bunnies hopping around the garden. they're cute and calico and it's nice to sit in the chairs back there and watch them frolic. we liked the fridge access and available drinks and kitchen use. Alajuela is a fun little town- we walked around, saw the market and churches. and watched some kids play soccer. sadly, we missed out on the awesome soccer tournament going on that night, we didn't discover it was happening until too late!
Vida is really close to the airport. I'd highly recommend staying there if you need somewhere close to the airport, the taxi ride took ten mins or so and Cost about $7, folks there will kindly arrange a taxi for you.
Vida Tropical is a great B&B, easy access to and from the airport and a great breakfast. The staff were very friendly and attentive. With a 3 day stay I was able to enjoy a complimentary laundry service and my taxi transfer to the airport was quick and easy for my early morning departure.
Great location for overnight flying in and out. Isabel is so helpful in arranging taxi and other information. Easy walk to restaurants. Felt safe.
I had a short overnight layover in San Jose and this was a great inexpensive choice. Jose was helpful and friendly, the location was a short drive from the airport, I was able to walk to a good restaurant for dinner and the breakfast was very good. Thank you.
The location is within walking distance of the city center but was a bit less clean than we expected. However, it probably is above average for a central American host.
hola dee and mike
i am sorry we did not meet your standards, we like to think we are better than above average in cleanliness, but we respect your opinion. although we are very busy this time of year, we work hard to please everyone and keep the standards high. if you could be more specific, we would surely appreciate it
Great BnB in San Jose! Convenient location and very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were comfy and clean and the breakfast was good. Free parking too!
Very lovely family and a nice place to start our trip in Costa Rica. My husband and I came earlier in the day and got to enjoy walking around Alajuela. There is a very fun indoor market there to explore. The rest of our family came in late and since it is very close to the airport it made it easy to get them situated. The breakfast is wonderful and Isabel made sure we had all the information we were looking for to start our trip.
