Great Host. Very welcoming. Clean apartment, and in a convenient location(mostly everything in Cancun is in a convenient location-its basically just one main road) When you go here, don't fall for Timeshare scams that are infecting the Hotel Zone, and if people try and offer deals on tours that are too good to be true, just say no thanks and walk away. About 50 minutes from there is Playa Del Carmen, a beautiful beach town. Cancun itself is decent but if I were to go back, I would stay in Cancun for 4 days and 4 days in Play Del Carmen. All of the adventure parks are located near Play Del Carmen.
Nice place, good location if you have a car for transport. Clean. But... The host has a tendency to go into the apartment when your not at home. We found this out with the first night, when he decided to send me a msg saying no smoking inside, smoke outside ( I found this odd because I didn't smoke inside... But I did use a cup as an ashtray and left it inside) and second day when we left the aircon on and on return it was switched off... And so was the living room lights.
I'm not the biggest fan of invasion of privacy. This is not a hotel, we want our privacy when renting an apartment
Leon thanks for your comments, because they will support what I say. 162 reviews Profile and no comment to say something bad about me in four years. This was a reservation that Leonid Poel made on the same day. My mistake was to accept in my apartment without reading his profile before.
As I live up is easy through my window smell smoke your cigarette, so I sent the message. The next morning when I went to check my property and turn off the air conditioning. Educated guests are aware that if they are going to be all day should turn off air conditioning, no sense wasting energy when no one is in the room, in Mexico electricity is very expensive. From the moment I get this person I did not feel safe or peaceful after reading the comments from previous hosts.
Luckily 99% of the time, I get great people of which have even come to a friendship. It is acceptable that there is a 1% that unfortunately we should receive, as Leon.
In my comment on the profile of Leon just put "Not Recommended" because I did not go into these details that I am obliged to explain now.
For this experience I decided to remove the immediate reservations of my property and back to the pre-approval system, is more safe to filter people like him.
Our first experience in Cancun was nothing short of wonderful. Walter was a very accommodating host that helped us every time we needed to call or text him he was very easy to get ahold of him. The room was affordable clean and perfect for our stay for 2 people who just wanted a simple room that is not too far from basic amenities and points of interest. As a newly engaged young couple we were anxious to get out of the typical tourist areas and really live the ways the locals do. And with the help of our host we were able to do that along with my organized planning we were able to see the tallest Mayan pyramid Nuhoch Mul in Coba, the playful experience of the turtle farm at isla mujeres, the beautiful and rough waves of Playa Delfines along with lots more :) all wouldn't be possible or affordable without staying with a local and learning the fascinating ropes of what Cancún would really be like :) we very much enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again!
This space was perfect for me and my partner's needs during our brief weekend stay in Cancún. It was located a very short distance from the bus stop that takes you directly to the Hotel Zone, a 20 minute ride, and costs 10.50 pesos per person (less than $1USD) per ride. Close to the convenience store and supermarket. It had a very good A/C unit, which was very much needed during hot Mexican nights. A comfortable "crash pad" was what we needed, and this was what we got. It was great.
Walter was easily accessible, and met us at the door with a smile and many useful and great recommendations and suggestions for our brief stay there. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and fluent in English and Spanish. A great host.
Walter's place was very cozy, at a nice location, & a great price. It's only 4 blocks from the bus (or taxis) at the convenience store, otherwise 1 block away you'll definitely get a cheap cab during the day. I stayed here with my uncle the second half of our trip. It's a private efficiency stay with a bed and a couch for someone to sleep on. Right when we confirmed our stay, Walter asked what we were interested in and sent us info with links.
Walter was a really nice host and we couldnt have asked for a better one. He was our first airbnb experience and awesome. Best bbq and birthday celebrations a traveler can ask for.
Moreover Walter and marco are very helpful and knowledgeable and you feel immediately at home. The appartement is clean and very well located.
We can definitely recommend this place for ppl coming to cancun.!!
