About this listing
Located about 100m from the stairs where Owen Wilson experienced time-travelling in Woody Allen's masterpiece: Midnight in Paris.
It is a lovely flat, located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris within the famous Quartier Latin. This cosy and warm flat is at the 5th floor of its building offering a nice view of the rooftops of Paris (with elevator, no worries). Fresh bed linens and towels are furnished.
As located downtown Paris, it is really easy to move around from the apartment: 2min walk to bus stop, 3min to cab station and subway station at Place Monge, 5min to Cardinal Lemoine metro station and finally 15min walk to RER B.
You may start sightseeing walking with the Panthéon and the Jardin du Luxembourg being at 5min distance. Or you could decide to go for a walk along the famous Quai de Seine and appreciate the beauty of the Notre Dame Cathedral just 10min from the apartment.
The Eiffel Tower may be reached in just 25min with the subway. Or if you are more interested in History, the Arènes de Lutèce (Paris' former name) remains from the Gallo-Roman era are just 2min away !
Louvres: 15 minutes by metro.
Champs Elysées / Arc de Triomphe: 20 minutes by metro.
Le Marais (Gay district, many fashion shops and bars) 25 minutes by walk or 7-10 minutes by metro)
Hill of Montmartre: 30 minutes by metro
Château de Versailles : 1 hour by traun
It is a fully equipped apartment with oven, microwave, washing machine, dryer, coffee machine, digital television with international news channels (BBC, CNBC, Deutsch Welle,...) and WiFi. The bed mesure 160X205 cm. I also have a baby crib (60X120).
For those of you who don't know (yet, of course) about the 5th arrondissement, there are plenty of lovely restaurants, bistros and bars all around. Everything needed for grocery shopping is easily available around the corner (Monge Street): supermarkets, green groceries, cheeses shops, boulangeries (with true French baguettes!), cellars...
I furnish bed linens and towels but I ask you to leave the flat as clean as you found it. Thanks.
The apartment in is a perfect location and looks just like it appears on the pictures. I was also very clean. Pierre was very easy to deal with and very quick to respond to my message.
This neighborhood is a perfect setting to experience Paris like a true Parisian. The butcher shops and bakeries were wonderful and a convenient grocer as well. Wonderful places to walk nearby as well as very convenient Metro stop.
Pierre was very accommodating when helping my daughter and I deal with the frustration of missing luggage and was available right away to answer any questions. It was great to have access to a fully appliances kitchen even though the controls were a bit different than I'm used to.
Never having done this before I do hope I was an agreeable guest.
Volvere a repetir.
We stayed at Pierre's apartment with our 4 months old baby for 7 nights. Even before we arrived I knew Pierre would be the perfect host. He offered to purchase a baby crib for our comfort at his own expense! The crib was a huge bonus for us and the place was just perfect for us as a couple with a small baby - Big enough elevator for the baby stroller, perfect location (close to the action but quiet enough), Carefour store just downstairs, washer+dryer and a big bathroom. Even the very near by metro station 'place monge' had an escalator going up ;) Pierre was also totally flexible with the checkout time, which was extremely helpful... don't miss the yummy boulangerie at rue monge and lacapede, it's beyond words! In short - don't think twice. Thanks Pierre!
We are experienced travelers who have been to Paris numerous times, but never stayed on the left bank or rented an apt before.
The apt was in a wonderful location 100 meters from Rue Mouffetard
and a block from Place Monge and the metro station. Getting around was easy. The shops and restaurants nearby were excellent and
reasonably priced. The apt is small and could not handle more than
2 or 3 people. The elevator is fairly new and efficient. The building
offers great security. The one negative is that the apt is not as fully
equipped as we would have expected.
Overall, the experience was good, the apt was adequate and clean,
with the location being perfect.
We just loved Pierre's apartment. The location was spot on -- just where I wanted to be in the center of the action near Contrescarpe, but removed enough from a majority of the late-night crowd noise. The flat itself was spotless and clearly cared for. A terrific view out of magnificent windows. The one bedroom was private enough to comfortably house myself and my wife, along with one guest on the living room futon. We had any amenity we could want, including laundry (though perhaps instructions for dealing with metric temps and settings could help?!). We felt completely safe with a keycode entry for both a gate and the building and a solid lock on the flat door (important factors for my wife and sister). The apartment was about two blocks from the Rue Monge metro stop - an easy, though slightly uphill (important to note with luggage), less-than-5-minute walk.
Pierre was available to me on email during my stay for questions. Pierre's place is EXACTLY the kind of housing that I joined AirBnB to be able to find and utilize. I highly recommend his place (and, as I said, the area in general). Enjoy!
We stayed in Pierre's apartment and loved it !! Don't know where to start except that it's secure, perfectly located and quiet (except as perhaps someone else alluded to the fri and sat. nite revellers down the street, to be expected, you're right near Sorbonne, Univ. du Paris). Everything you need to enjoy Paris: 1 min to the store, 1 min to the Contrescarpe intersection of 4 streets forming a nice circle of cafes bars/restaurants. We saw two concerts down in Bercy, Palais Omnisports and enjoyed a nice 20 min. stroll home each night.
Perfect. We also will be back !!
Thanks Pierre :))
