We would advise that only the adventurous and more open minded stay here. This is not the Marriot or a central park west local, although we are very close. The neighborhood is considered very safe. It is jumping and unbelievably vibrant and once you step outside the Guest House you will be living amongst real New Yorker's... not tourists. This may be enticing to some but scary to others... so take it for what its worth. Highly recommend if you are looking for a true New York experience! Dont take our word for it... Just read the reviews and see for yourself!
The building itself is very safe and secure. Ray lives on premise and can deal with any issues should they arise. The room is private with your own lock and key. Fresh bed linens and towels are provided. Share 2 full baths and basic cooking facilities with the other guests. We have long term international students and tourists staying with us from all over the world. The room has a full size bed and is located on the 3rd Floor of a renovated Mott Haven Brownstone. There is a mini-fridge and 32" Plasma TV located inside the room. But your in New York... how much time do you plan to spend inside??

This stay was perfect, the neighborhood was nice (people very welcoming), the place was very clean and the room comfortable (big tv, fridge). I will go back to this place :)
Very nice place.. Clean, quiet and great people.. Will be back as I like the diversity in the area..!!!
This was my first Airbnb experience and it was a good one. As a solo female traveler I was a little worried about staying in the Bronx but it was absolutely fine and I didn't feel unsafe at any point. Although Brook Avenue subway station is closer the walk from Third Avenue 138th Street has well lit streets with shops and people in them and a 24 hour gas station so feels like a safer route. I had a late check in and a very early check out but Martin, Ray and Greg were very accommodating and this wasn't an issue at all. Clean sheets and towels, a room with a lock and good kitchen + bathroom facilities are provided. It is only about a 20 minute ride on the subway into Manhattan and there are a lot of takeaway shops + food shops nearby.
Great stay love the like home feel. Ray is very nice and accomadating.
la chambre de loin la plus propre et la plus confortable de notre sejour. accueil sympa ,un tres bon plan pas loin de central park.
Was a fine place. cheap and clean!
Everything was great, clean , we had no problem . The only thing we were a little bit scared of was the neighborhood as we were the only / not black /not mexican/ people in bronx . anyway, everybody was nice during the day . we enjoyed our trip in NYC
A great place to stay. I met interesting people there and felt completely comfortable in the neighborhood. Nearby Metro access made getting into Manhattan a snap.
We had a fantastic time! Colourful neighbourhood, easy access to the city, easygoing hosts.
Great place to stay for cheap. It was exactly as it was advertised, clean, simple, with other amenities including a/c, wifi, etc. Everyone was helpful, quick to respond, and generally accommodating for specific needs.
