  • Great value for money!! lovely hosts quiet street even at night , police at the metro station just around the corner 2 minn walk and when I asked people living in the neighbourhood for directions they where super friendly and helpful I even made friends just getting some lovely Caribbean food from Mellanies on Fulton St!
I highly recommend this room and neighbourhood for adventurous travellers who want a complete experience of New York and like to experience culture. I would stay here again!

  • Location, Location, Location! Very convenient place to/from JFK and Manhattan. Subway station is just around the corner(2min.)
A/C train is very useful day and night.
Room is OK for just sleeping. Shared bathroom is quite busy at morning (Shared with 2 or 3 rooms) but very clean and tidy.
A guy in the house is very helpful during check in, I arrived at early morning, he guided to downstairs room to keep my stuff and allow me to use bathroom.
When check out, Nobody there in the house (except other guests) and I left keys in the entrance. (time is around the noon)
I was not sure kitchen area access is allowed or not, at that time nobody there to ask.
I didn't talk to host much, but satisfied with my stay.
If you looking for just place to sleep and convenient location, I reccommend this place.

  • Marylyn was a great host. The room is small, but more than sufficient for a single traveler who needs a safe, clean and affordable place to rest his/her head between trips out exploring NYC. The subway station is a short walk away, and I have experienced no problems in this neighborhood (I have stayed in the area a couple of times).

  • Nice place, close to all amenities and at walking distance to both the Nostrand Avenue subway and railway station (about 150m to both). Marylyn and her husband are very friendly. This was my first experience with airbnb and I would recomend it. The room was exactly as depicted in the photograph of the advert and there is a small fridge that we can use to keep water and food. The bathroom was always very clean.

  • "Description" & "Reviews" were true. The rating is five stars. It's no doubt.

  • The room was clean and tidy and adequately equipped, but also rather small. It is fine for someone traveling on his own to see NYC and is out most of the day. Marylyn was a very gracious host and was always available to help whenever needed. She was also very responsive prior to the trip and answered every email promptly. The bathrooms were SPOTLESS and very comfortable, although they are shared and not private. The location is a short walk from the A subway taking you to Manhattan in less than 20 minutes.

  • Just moved back to Brooklyn so I wanted a cheap place that I could stay and keep my stuff. Thats what I got so i was really happy and when I met the owners it was even better for they rocked!

If you want a glamourous hotel go to Manhattan, if you want a simple place with your own room and no commotion talk to Marylyn Palmer.

  • Staying at Marylyn's and Lloyd's house it's like staying with a family member that you haven't seen in a long while! Marylyn is such a hospitable lady, she first showed me her immaculately clean and modern kitchen where she told me I could help myself to any drink that was in her fridge, and that I could also help myself to breakfast in the morning. Next, she directed me upstairs to my room, and even helped me with my very heavy luggage! The room where I stayed is small but very cozy, especially the bed....even more comfortable than my own bed. It's a shame that I only enjoyed it for about 3 hours per night, since I got in real late and headed out real early as well. There is the best subway line literally down the street -the A route takes you straight to the heart of Manhattan and also back to the JFK airport. The bathrooms were pretty clean, and she provides you with clean towels and a nice soap. There is also wifi available. The neighborhood is pretty safe, pretty much all of NY is very safe now a days. I would highly recommend staying with this amazing family. I couldn't have been luckier and blessed to have found this deal. Very economic, and down the street from the subway line that connects you to everything, and not to mention that there is lots to do in Brooklyn as well. It's a shame my time was limited but I'm hoping to go back soon and hopefully stay at Marylyn's again! I wouldn't think twice about staying here again, very pleasant experience :)

  • Marylyn and Lloyd are simply great hosts, very kind, respectfull and communicative! It almost felt like beeing at home:)
The room was quite small but absolutely sufficient for me as I was out in town most of the time. As previously mentioned: the bathroom is still spotlessly clean as its cleaned several times a day.
Marylyn served me breakfast several times, thank you for that!
The neighborhood was nice and easy going, the way to the next subway station was about 100 meters and I could get to midtown in about twenty minutes! In short: highly recommended!

  • I was in NY for the weekend, and Marylyn and Lloyd were just really good hosts.
I could barely interact with both of them due to my busy schedule, but i always had enough food in the fridge and they were even nice enough to leave me a couple of sodas and water in the small fridge in the room.
The place is in a really good location, close of the subway, and really convenient if you are flying from JFK. (You only need to take one line to get there)
Manhattan is about 30 minutes by train, and that line crosses all of the most important points, so you wont need to do many connections.
The bathroom was pristine clean and there were towels and even a soap just for me.
In conclusion, i would definitely go there again.
