About This Listing
This spacious junior suite with ensuite shower gives onto a patio. It has a beautiful oriental arch separating the sleeping area from the sitting area. It can sleep 2 people in the large double bed and another 2 to 3 people in additional beds.
The 1001 Nights room is a magical room in our traditional riad (house) in the heart of Marrakech.
The 1001 Nights room is a junior suite, spacious with large arched windows and beautiful oriental curves.
It has its own private patio in front, where you can relax on the large sofa.
There is a double bed and a single sofa bed.
Another bed can be added to accommodate up to 2 adults and 3 children.
The en-suite bathroom, with shower, is made of traditional tadelakt (a typical moroccan plaster-work finish)
There are 5 other bedrooms in the Riad, all very different in style and size.
The riad, a traditional house built around an open patio with a fountain and trees, is very peaceful.
You can relax on the roof terrace on a lounger or in one of the tents, in the jacuzzi/pool or why not try the hammam!
Moad, the 2 Rachidas and Hassan will welcome you warmly and help you organise your stay in Marrakech.
Guests have access to the roof terrace, the central courtyard, the jacuzzi and the hammam.
Our Riad is centrally located in the Medina or old town, in a quiet area, but only 2 minutes from buzzing pedestrian streets, lined with colourful shops, traditional workshops and laid-back cafés, that lead you to the souks (10 min) and the famous Djema El Fna Square
There is a taxi station about 5 minutes from the riad.
Other Things to Note
There is a local tourism tax of 8Dh and a tourist promotion tax of 15Dh payable per guest per night at the property for all guests over the age of 12. This 23Dh charge per night per person is about €2.30.
We would like to remind you that Morocco is a Muslim country, therefore as a mark of respect for its inhabitants it is highly recommended to avoid short dresses and shorts, as well as bare belly, low-cut tops, or anything too revealing (especially in the old city).
Also it is very inappropriate to eat or smoke in the street in the daytime during Ramadan (starting 28 June 2014 for 1 month)
What a beautiful riad! It was so comfortable and the room was exactly like the pictures. I was sold the room based on the private lounge area, which turned out to be communal - good Job we had wonderful neighbours!
Rachida was a wonderful cook, friendly and smiley and the breakfast was delicious. I would definately recommend eating her lovely food!
The only thing I would say, is that we hardly ever saw the managers. On our first day we spent most of the time in the riad, as we didn't have any keys - luckily one of the cleaners was available to help. Make sure you organise your own set as soon as you arrive.
I had a pedicure which was below average and my sister had a massage she enjoyed. Both reasonably priced.
Overall lovely riad!
We, two grown-ups and a 4-year-old, spent a week A charming riad with a perfect location near the souks and just next to Sidi Ben Slimane, where you can easily get a cab. A 1001 Nights' feeling with a big, charming rooftop terrace. Very child-friendly environment and nice employees. The only downside is, since it isn't heated, it tends to get cold during nighttime in february.
My partner and I stayed in Riad O2 for two nights when we first landed in Marrakech. It was comfortable and warm with really helpful and funny hosts. They arranged pick up from the airport, Hammam and helpful advice for getting around. The price includes a really generous breakfast best taken on the beautiful roof top terrace. Comfortable bed, free wifi, excellent communication and a great location minutes walk from all the Medina has to offer. I would definitely stay here again.
The whole location is amazing and we were very happy with our room. The rooftop terrace and the patio offer much space to relax. Rachida is an excellent cook and we really recommend to try one of her dinners. Everybody at the Riad is very caring and nice. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
What a gorgeous riad! The staff was pitch perfect and the accommodations were stunning. We were greeted with tea and sweets as Moad joined us, map in hand, and clearly explained how to get to the riad and other highlights of Marrakech. Our room was amazing and the rooftop was perfect for sunset every night. It's a leisurely 15min walk to Djemaa el Fna, just far enough to escape the craziness of the Medina center. Would book with Riad O2 again in a heartbeat!!

About the Host, Marie&Hugues
We are a French couple who fell in love with Morocco years ago.
We then decided to buy a place in Marrakech. After a long period of renovation work, combining modern comfort, traditional material and our taste for design, we finally created our beautiful riad.
We love going to the desert, sleeping in berber tents and listening to Touaregs playing drums and singing.
We also enjoy meeting people and telling them about our favourite places to see and visit.
