No smoking on the property. No shoes in the house. No pets. The kitchen and bathroom are shared, please leave the common areas as clean you found them when you arrived.
Thank you for your consideration. Please enjoy your stay in Victoria.
Diane welcomed and treated us very nicely. She always asked us if we needed any helps. I highly recommend her place for everyone!
Diane is an extremely nice and lovely person, and has a beautiful home. The room, was very clean and well decorated with a private entrance, and the linens and towels new and comfortable. We were able to use the kitchen and Diane had an empty shelf for us in the fridge. The home is uniquely and beautiful decorated with cultural artifacts from around the world as well as lots of plants! Diane was very helpful in giving us suggestions and directions, and even offered us berries that she picked in her yard. It is a 25-30 minute beautiful walk to downtown (through a park/along a path along the water). We felt lucky to end up here, and would definitely return next time. Thank you Diane!
This was our second stay with Diane within less than a week. The first stay was for 3 nights and after three nights elsewhere, we returned for another 4 nights. This time, we met Diane (read my previous review for an explanation) and she was as welcoming as she was during our numerous email "conversations". Sharing a bathroom with Diane was no problem, as both host and guest were quiet and respectful. While we did not use the fridge or the rest of her home, Diane still left room in the fridge for her guests and we could have been outside in her lush backyard. Access to downtown is easy and if you are looking for a quiet neighbourhood rather than in the hustle and bustle of downtown, then Diane's is the place to be.
I am writing this review under unusual circumstances, since our host Diane had an opportunity to be away during our stay in her home. We were able to make arrangements to get the key, etc. and we're both happy that we could help and ended up happy with our stay. Diane's home has a zen quality which added to the homey atmosphere. Due to the numerous correspondences we had with Diane before our arrival, we felt comfortable about being in her home in her absence. She lives an hour's walk from downtown Victoria, which may sound onerous, but the walk is lovely, largely along the Galloping Goose Trail on the water. It is an easy 10 minute bus ride otherwise. While we did not get to meet Diane, the good news is that we are returning for an additional four nights in a couple of days from now, and look forward to meeting her then.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time staying with Diane. She was warm and generous in sharing her home, making sure we were as comfortable as possible and giving us a great combination of privacy and company. She also gave us great recommendations about how to enjoy Victoria, including a waterside walk to downtown, which I think was one of my favorite parts of the trip! I would definitely love to stay with Diane again. Thank you!!
Diane was a wonderful host to me and my friend. We walked from the house to downtown once. It is a doable walk but takes 30 minutes at a fairly good pace. Having the car was very convenient. I definitely recommend Diane and her spot to anyone looking to stay in Victoria.
Diane is a v welcoming and kind host who made me feel at home. The room is spacious bright and well furnished and v comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Bathroom is clean modern and well maintained and had constant hot water. The busstop to downtown Victoria (no 14 bus) is only around the corner and is v handy for downtown access. I thoroughly recommend staying here.
