Spacious and quiet room with all amenities for a short stay: microwave, tea kettle, coffee machine, small fridge, comfy armchair with lamp, a closet, a bed and a bathroom all to yourself. NOT FOR SMOKERS OR FOR VERY ALLERGIC TO CATS (read on..).
If you are passing through San Francisco and need a place to stay for a few nights that is close to highways (2 minutes by car from 101 and 280), transportation (Muni buses and Bart) and lots of nice stores and restaurants (Cortland Avenue + Mission Street) in the friendliest neighborhood in the city, then this is the room for you. You have your own private bathroom and a room opening into a sunny yard. The room is very quiet and equipped with free wi-fi, a microwave + drip coffee maker and a small fridge for your breakfast needs. The bed is a very comfortable single bed (twin size). A lazy-chair for your reading needs and a comfortable office chair + desk in case you need to do any work at the computer complete the furnishing. When it is cold out, you can turn the heating on (we have an electric base board heater, very efficient). Just turn it off when you are not there, to help us keep our electrical bill in check. We live upstairs and will be happy to direct you around our pleasant neighborhood. We are also very close to the largest farmers' market and flee market in San Francisco.
We do need a deposit to confirm the reservation. Airbnb will collect it from you and will give it back to you 48 hours after your departure.
MINIMUM STAY: 4 nights.
When you apply, PLEASE WRITE A PROFILE describing where you live, what you do, have your PORTRAIT PHOTO (just you) posted in the query, add your interests/hobbies and something that can give us a better idea of you. Also, add any previous hosts' review of you as a guest. In addition, for your protection, in case you should fall ill and need emergency care while at my house, I will need to make a copy of your photo ID when you check in (and of course it is for my protection too :) ). You can also scan and email it to me, after I confirm your booking. Either way it is fine. Thank you for your cooperation.
Occasionally you may see our she CAT passing by your room door, she will not enter your room unless you invite her in. She is an outdoor cat and gets out through another pathway than your room. If you are not big on cats, you can just keep your door closed and she will be very discreet. But if you are very allergic, you may want to find another arrangement.
WIFI, fridge, microwave oven, tea kettle, a clipper card to charge with your money and use on public transportation.
Interaction with Guests
I communicate with my guests constantly to make sure they have all the information needed to come to my place. Once they move in, I am there for them on a daily basis, for any additional information or need they may have.
It is a friendly and homey neighborhood. Lots of coffee shops, restaurants, a nice supermarket, a public library, a yoga studio, a Pilates studio, and a few boutique-food stores, with very good quality soups, sandwiches and ethnic foods.
A few minutes walk from my house are 4 different buses that will take you to downtown, the Mission and Valencia, to BART, to the Pacific Ocean and to Pacific Heights.
Other Things to Note
I have a very sweet cat, she will not enter your room unless you invite her in, she is very independent and mostly outside.
IF YOU ARE A SMOKER, THIS ROOM IS NOT FOR YOU. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM BOOKING.
Please make sure not to leave our front door open (to prevent our cat from getting out).
Always keep the screen to the yard closed, small creatures can come in from the yard (and we have raccoons).
Please dispose your garbage in the bins right outside our garage door. We provide you with garbage bags and we recycle (blue bin is for paper, glass and plastic containers; green bin is for food scraps and black bin is for regular garbage).
I had a great stay at Cecilia's place. The room is big and has everything you need - a comfortable bed, a drawer, en-suite bathroom, a nice terrasse outside and even a little fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Cecilia even bought some breakfast items for me. The neighborhood is really nice, a quiet area but also with good Shops and a farmers market nearby. I can definately recommend Cecilia as a host, I had a really nice stay.
She was very accommodating and (email hidden)e place was a great comfort with a large garden with a view. Very steep hill( which she warned me about) and a great hike to the mountain near her made the place a photographers dream.Nice quiet house in a great nabe.
Excellent host and wonderful space. Cecilia was very friendly and welcoming, and went out of her way to make sure that I was comfortable and provided for, and had a good experience. The room was very nice, and in a great neighborhood. It was great to have a room with a closet and hangers, and a microwave and mini fridge, and my hostess even offered me breakfast while I was there.
Cecilia is a fabulous host. I would love to stay with her again. It was great to have my own bathroom and a little sort of kitchenette. It was so comfortable and I slept so well. The neighborhood is also very lovely with great restaurants and so much more. Initially I thought I was away from everything but that's not the case. Cecilia is also productive, she called ahead with a plan to pickup the keys. She provided me with yogurt, blueberries and orange juice. She's great!
Cecilia was a great host, she made sure to check in periodically to make sure I had everything I needed. The room is as advertised and was clean and very comfortable. The location was convenient; I used the 67 bus to the BART, which got me downtown pretty quickly. Thanks Cecilia!
I had a wonderful time at Cecilia's place. The room was just as described, perfect for who is traveling alone. I rent it for 4 days and when I decided to stay more time in the city I extended for 5 more days. I felt home, like I rent my own studio. The neighborhood is quiet, but bars and restaurants in Cortland Avenue are just a few blocks away. There are buses that take you wherever you want in the city. Cecilia was great. Always available and helpful. I totally recommend her place! :)

Hi, my name is Cecilia. I am from Rome but live in San Francisco. I love good food, books about history, philosophy, art, anthropology, and film. I dream about having free time to read good novels. I love classical music, jazz, arabic music, and traditional indian dance. My favorite travel destination: a hammock in the shade near the sea, preferably on a hill, a cold tea with lemon and sugar and a good book and also the desire to sleep without a work deadline.
As a guest I am independent and curious. As a host I like clear communication and would like for my guest to feel at home and welcome.
My motto: a day at the time.
