Bring the whole family to this spacious cabin with room for fun inside and out! Enjoy trail systems, fire on the patio, splashing in the pool, visiting in the hot tub, a light competition with badminton, bags, bocce and waffle ball, ping-pong or pool table tournaments, and more!
Wedding, anniversary and other event venues are housed in the state park adjoining this property or host your event right here on our acre plus yard.
Across the street is the newly renovated Lake Keomah filling daily.
The space
This is an original fishing cabin that has been added on to and had some renovations over the years. Most of the rooms are wall and ceiling pine. The original metal crank out windows and screens are still in place and while storm windows have been added, in the winter bring layers and get cozy!
The yard is peaceful with songbirds in the morning, Cicadas and owls talking in the evenings, and deer munching on pears throughout the night. When you sit on the patio, you’re enveloped by flowers, and entertained by squirrels and woodpeckers.
Please book long enough so that you can pick a book from our delicious library and enjoy read alouds or your own solace getaway through story! There are stories for all ages and lots of games and puzzles too!
Both great rooms have tall ceilings, cozy rugs and throws and pretty views!
The home is spacious and full of character. We live here part of the year, so you will see our family photos and your children and grandchildren will play with our grandchildren's toys. We will not be on the premises during your stay, with the exception of cleaning the pool and watering the plants in season.
Guest access
We have a large driveway for hard surface parking, but have utilized grass parking at the end of our driveway when we have had more than 8-10 cars. There is absolutely no parking on the side of the road as this is prohibited in Keomah Village.
Other things to note
There is at least one dresser in each room for your personal belongings. Full disclosure: Airbnb adds 18% to our nightly rate. The nightly rate reflects this increase.

Lives in Oskaloosa, Iowa
My wife and I are long time residents of Oskaloosa and love to provide hospitality to others. We, like you, enjoy personalized unique homes immersed in the local culture! We love to partake in all the things the locals enjoy so we share with you the fun in our award winning midwest town with a culture all its own!
We've lived on the East coast for many years and loved it, but did always miss the downtown square where gathering is commonplace! We celebrate this unique culture and travel to celebrate with others their spice in this beautiful world!
We are available to set up an itinerary for you or leave you to do whatever you'd like. We've had weddings in our home, parties in the backyard, dress up events and live musicians and each celebrated event has been thoroughly enjoyed by all!
Our grown children and myriad of guests from all over the country and hopefully one day, world, keep us abreast of the desires we all have in our stays away from home and we try to continually grow from this wealth of input. Please add to that ocean of thoughts and please fully enjoy your time in our homes nestled in the midst of a sprawling bit of American history!
