While this house appeals to visitors of all types, we have especially curated it for our guests who thrive on the endless opportunities for adventure that the WNC mountains are famous for. The space
The home has been completely remodeled with every single detail thoughtfully and intentionally designed with our guests in mind. The space is comfortable and relaxing with a bright interior full of natural light, soothing décor, comfortable furniture, and all of the amenities you need for a cozy stay. The house flows well with bedrooms to one side and living space, office, kitchen and dining on the other side of the house. The kitchen is spacious, very well stocked and ready for homemade meals or a cup of your favorite brew at the well-appointed coffee counter. The living area offers a comfortable place to gather and watch tv, play one of the games provided or read a local interest book from the thoughtfully selected collection. The large windows in the living room offer a beautiful view of the mountain range right across the street. The bedrooms each have high end hybrid mattresses with individual pocket coils topped with memory foam layers and luxurious bedding, blackout curtains, ceiling fans and sound machines to provide a good night’s rest for your mountain adventures the next day. We provide two comfortable rollaway twin sized beds for additional sleeping. The office space offers a desk for four people to work remotely with the added convenience of charging stations, Bluetooth speaker and maps of DuPont and Pisgah Forests for planning your next adventure. The bathrooms are bright and clean and stocked with soft towels and wash cloths. The garage has been remodeled and outfitted as a game room for your enjoyment featuring air hockey, foosball, darts and hook and ring. The backyard is newly fenced in and offers multiple outdoor spaces give you the opportunity to continue to enjoy nature after your days exploring the mountains. There is outdoor dining for 6 on our covered porch; a sitting area, table and gas grill on the back patio; and a firepit with firewood provided for an outdoor bonfire in the evenings. The backyard is huge and newly fenced in, offering a safe, private space for the entire family to enjoy. Every detail of the house has been intentionally selected with you in mind, and we can’t wait to host you for your time in the WNC mountains.

Guest access
There is plenty of parking at the Cognative Ride House for your entire crew. The house is conveniently situated on a hill set off of Brevard Road, a two lane road connecting Hendersonville and Brevard. You can easily travel via car to anywhere in the area or walk across the street to restaurants and visit our coffee shop next door that features craft coffee, espresso drinks, baked goods, light eats, beer/wine and grab and go food.

It is situated in a perfectly central location with easy access to DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Bent Creek Experimental Forest, Kanuga Bike Park, The Riveter, Downtown Hendersonville, Downtown Asheville, Downtown Brevard and The Biltmore Estate.

Neighborhood highlights

The house is located on the west side of
Hendersonville which sustained far less damage from Helene than other areas of WNC. Restaurants, roads, shops are all opening or already open in our area and in downtown Hendersonville and Brevard. While you may see some remaining evidence of downed trees or waterlines from flooding while driving around, we have graciously been spared much of the severe damage in our area and the house was untouched.

The Cognative Ride House provides the perfect home base for exploring all the best trails Western NC has to offer. It is situated in a perfectly central location….only 12 miles from DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest, 14 miles from Bent Creek Experimental Forest, 8 miles from Kanuga Bike Park and The Riveter. Downtown Hendersonville is only 5 miles away, Downtown Brevard 14 miles, Downtown Asheville 24 miles and The Biltmore Estate is 18 miles.

The Ride House offers the convenience of super easy access to the forests and downtown Hendersonville as it’s situated on Brevard Road on 3.5 acres on a hill set off of the road. You can walk to restaurants. spa services and a pastry shop across the street, and there is a hangout with taps, live music and food trucks a mere 0.3 miles away. While this isn’t a remote and secluded mountain getaway and you are located in the heart of Horse Shoe, the convenience of the location keeps our guests coming back again and again. The future Ecusta Trail (under construction) is within sight of the property and the Ride House will be the perfect home base for riding your bike to the trail once development is complete.

I'm a beach girl at heart that married a mountain man and after a decade of vacationing in the area, we made the beautiful WNC mountains our home in 2017. We love hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, camping and exploring our beautiful home here. We love to give recommendations for outdoor adventures and things to do here so feel free to ask or take a look at the binder filled with local recommendations. I have always had a heart for hospitality, and hosting vacation rentals in our beautiful mountains has been such a great fit. I enjoy talking with guests from all over the world and doing everything I can to ensure their stay is comfortable. After hosting well over 250 groups, I have been able to hone in on the small details that make all the difference between an "okay" stay and a 5 star stay. It is my goal to provide a safe, well appointed and comfortable environment for an unforgettable experience at our homes.
