Enjoy the spectacular sunrises, sights and sounds of Lake Superior at Chateau LeVeaux nestled atop the lakeshore cliffs. There are so many ways to spend the day - whether hiking beautiful Minnesota State Parks, skiing at nearby Lutsen Mountain, shopping, dining, catching some live entertainment, searching for waterfalls, or simply staying in. The Cozy Lake Superior Getaway on Minnesota’s North Shore provides endless opportunities for creative inspiration and relaxation.
The space
The condo is fully furnished with cookware and utensils, so enjoy cooking up a storm. Melt into the jacuzzi tub in the unit, take a nap and sleep well on the comfy, King-sized bed. On the Chateau property, you can play in the rec room, read on the lakeside observation deck, build a fire in one of the fire pits and toast up some s'mores, or…do nothing at all. And, from spring through fall there is staircase access to the magnificent rocky shoreline down at the lake. Rest and repeat!
Other things to note
Please note: the jacuzzi tub is deep so it is a bigger step in than a regular tub, and the king-sized bed is extra high. The funny part is... I'm only 5'2", but it works for me (and...there is a step stool is in the kitchen if needed).
Like most resorts on the North Shore, we do not have air conditioning. The lake effect keeps the shoreline 10-20 degrees cooler than inland. On the rare hot summer days, you can cool the condo with the lake breeze and our ceiling/room fans.
In northern Minnesota we can get all sorts of bugs (mostly flies and mosquitoes). Larger animals such as deer, bear, and bobcat have over the years been seen on our property. In general, they are not that interested in humans but should you encounter one, do not feed or engage. We also have semi-steep driveways which can get snowy and icy in the winter. The average temperature in Tofte ranges from -30 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Plan accordingly :-)
