About this listing
This comfortable, fully furnished two bedroom apartment has a nice patio and offers great privacy, ideal for couples. It is located in "De Pijp," Amsterdam's most charming, vibrant neighborhood, packed with art galleries, cafes and restaurants.
The apartment is very well maintained and is equiped with everything you need to make your stay as pleasant as possible, such as central heating and fast WiFi at 24Mbps. I have improved the apartment based on customer feedback as recently as August 2013. Amongst other things, all rooms are fitted with brand new lighting.
The apartment is very large (75m2) compared to other apartments in Amsterdam. It has a spacious living room with an open kitchen, two separate bedrooms (not connected, ideal for couples who enjoy their privacy), a bathroom, a separate toilet and a large outside area. This is very rare for Amsterdam where apartments tend to be very small!
The living room has a a couch, two sofas, a 40" TV, Xbox, a desk, coffee table and bookshelves. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, an oven, dishwasher, a design fridge / freezer, espresso machine, water boiler, toaster, pots & pans, silverware, plates and everything else you need to cook a great meal!
Both bedrooms have comfortable double beds (200cm x 160cm), bed lights, and large closets to hang your clothes in. One bedroom has a TV and an AC. I have plenty of extra sheets, blankets and pillows available. For families traveling with a baby, there is a baby cot available as well.
The bathroom has a bath, separate shower and sink. Towels are included and there is a separate toilet. A hair dryer, ironing board and iron are also available.
I don't have a washing machine but just around the corner are two laundry places where you can do your laundry or drop off you clothes and have them do it (incl. dry-cleaning).
There is a big outside terrace (20m2) with a table and chairs. The terrace is facing the south, which means you'll have sun almost all day long!
Guests have access to everything my apartment has to offer, nothing has to be shared. The apartment has it's own entrance.
Interaction with Guests
When you book my place, my main priority is to make sure you will have a perfect stay. I will send you my personal guidebook to the apartment and the neighborhood and will be communicating with you on a regular base.
"De Pijp" is arguably the most interesting neighborhood in town and my apartment is located at the best spot. Although it features a number of tourist highlights (such as the Heineken Factory and the Albert Cuyp Market), it has kept its local feel. You'll find numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and art shops within a few minutes walk. It also features one of the nicest park in Amsterdam, the Sarphati Park.
There are seven tram stops within 5 minute walking distance. This means you can easily get to almost anywhere within Amsterdam!
To get to the apartment from the airport you can either take a taxi (Euro 40, 20 minutes) or take a train to Amsterdam CS and take tram 16 or 24 to tramstop "Stadhouderskade." From there, it's just a 5 minute walk.
Other Things to Note
* Please note that due to the vibrant nature of my neighborhood, my place is not very suitable for light-sleepers who like to sleep in late.
*Please note that my computer in the picture is old and doesn't connect to the internet. If you need to work I recommend to bring a laptop.
I'm pretty relaxed when it comes to the rules but please keep the following in mind to keep my neighbors happy when they sleep (after 11pm):
- don't make any noise on the balcony
- refrain from having parties, music or loud conversation
- open/close the front door quietly
Also, please don't ring the neighbor's doorbell, my door is located on the left, nr 144-I with name plate Jasper Ribbers.
Please respect these times.
About the Host, Jasper
I gave up my finance career in 2010 to pursue a lifelong dream: to travel the world full time. To support myself, I rent out my apartment on Airbnb. It's been a great experience, so great that I recently wrote a book about it! It's called Get Paid For Your Pad and you can find it on Amazon.
I also started a podcast under the same name that you can find in iTunes.
I share my adventures with the world through my blog, The Traveling Dutchman. I love exploring the planet, learning different cultures and discovering new places.
I'm also a big fan of anything that involves the ocean and starts with an "s", such as scuba diving, swimming, surfing, sailing and snorkeling.
I love meeting people from different parts of the world and I look forward to connecting with you as a host or traveler. I will do my best to make stay as comfortable as possible or being a good guest, depending on my role.
