This comfortable, fully furnished two bedroom apartment has a nice patio and offers great privacy, ideal for couples. It is located in "De Pijp," Amsterdam's most charming, vibrant neighborhood, packed with art galleries, cafes and restaurants.

The Space

The apartment is very well maintained and is equiped with everything you need to make your stay as pleasant as possible, such as central heating and WIFI. I have improved the apartment based on customer feedback as recently as August 2013. Amongst other things, all rooms are fitted with brand new lighting.

The apartment is very large (75m2) compared to other apartments in Amsterdam. It has a spacious living room with an open kitchen, two separate bedrooms (not connected, ideal for couples who enjoy their privacy), a bathroom, a separate toilet and a large outside area. This is very rare for Amsterdam where apartments tend to be very small!

The living room has a a couch, two sofas, a 40" TV, Xbox, a desk, coffee table and bookshelves. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, an oven, dishwasher, a design fridge / freezer, espresso machine, water boiler, toaster, pots & pans, silverware, plates and everything else you need to cook a great meal!

Both bedrooms have comfortable double beds (200cm x 160cm), bed lights, and large closets to hang your clothes in. One bedroom has a TV and an AC. I have plenty of extra sheets, blankets and pillows available. For families traveling with a baby, there is a baby cot available as well.

The bathroom has a bath, separate shower and sink. Towels are included and there is a separate toilet. A hair dryer, ironing board and iron are also available.

I don't have a washing machine but just around the corner are two laundry places where you can do your laundry or drop off you clothes and have them do it (incl. dry-cleaning).

There is a big outside terrace (20m2) with a table and chairs. The terrace is facing the south, which means you'll have sun almost all day long!

Guest Access

Guests have access to everything my apartment has to offer, nothing has to be shared. The apartment has it's own entrance.

Interaction with Guests

When you book my place, my main priority is to make sure you will have a perfect stay. I will send you my personal guidebook to the apartment and the neighborhood and will be communicating with you on a regular base.

The Neighborhood

"De Pijp" is arguably the most interesting neighborhood in town and my apartment is located at the best spot. Although it features a number of tourist highlights (such as the Heineken Factory and the Albert Cuyp Market), it has kept its local feel. You'll find numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and art shops within a few minutes walk. It also features one of the nicest park in Amsterdam, the Sarphati Park.

Getting around

Tramlines (phone number hidden) and 24 all have stops within walking distance. This means you can easily get to almost anywhere within Amsterdam.

To get to the apartment from the airport you can either take a taxi (Euro 40, 20 minutes) or take a train to Amsterdam CS and take tram 16 or 24 to tramstop "Stadhouderskade." From there, it's just a 5 minute walk.

Other Things to Note

I look forward to hosting you!

  • I have to say that my first visit to Amsterdam has been great. In part, thanks to Jasper. Great host, any information it was required pre arrival was given on time and once arrived everything was as expected. Very welcoming Sandra on arrival, we realised not just the flat, also the location of it were great.

Very nice neighbourhood, full of bars, shops, and places to go if you feel you don't want to move too far from it. However, if you are into visiting the city and its attractions, the location of Jasper's is so convenient... Walking distance from the city center we used to have a nice walk every day to the closer places we wanted to visit.

The flat itself is great. Big and clean. Everything was ready when we arrived. Very homie, invites you to stay resting after long day around the city.

I will definitely come back to Jasper's place on my next visit to the city!!!

    Looking forward seeing you back.

    Many thanks!!
    Javier

  • We were two couples staying in Jasper's flat for three nights before our cruise. Jasper is an ideal host and Sandra made sure we were well oriented. The beds were comfortable and having the Wifi was an added benefit. The information Jasper left about Amsterdam and his neighborhood favorites was extremely helpful. The apartment is very comfortable and well furnished. De Pijp is a great location, particularly for waling to museums and we felt our experience was enriched by staying in an actual neighborhood, which was truly alive with the World Cup on view in bars and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again if returning to Amsterdam.

  • We loved this place! Very accommodating for 4 people with lots of space (didn't think i was in Amsterdam!). Great balcony. Excellent location within the city, as it's close to museums, cafes, markets, service stores, public transit, etc.) Loved the tea & coffee that was available (along with the espresso machine). We felt very much at home during our 8-night stay and didn't want to leave. Greeted by very friendly and patient 'Sandra', in lieu of Jasper who was travelling in another country but thankfully kept in touch (we initially had a problem with the internet but it was quickly addressed and resolved by him).

  • My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Jasper's home. It's perfect for a couple or even a few people. We loved to neighborhood too. It felt a bit BoHo and Brooklyn like. Away from all the tourist traps, we ended up spending more time in De Pijp than anywhere else. It was steps to the grocery store, coffee shops, ATM, the tram, etc. It was only about a 15 minute walk the museum area of town. The only drawback we found was that there was ALOT of street noise which made it difficult to sleep in in the mornings. I think there might have been a warehouse of some type just below that took early morning deliveries (around 6 am). Aside from that we highly recommend. Both Jasper and Sandra (the woman who greeted us) were fabulous.

Hi Jenna, thanks for sharing your experience. I'm happy to hear that you had a great time in my neighborhood. Sorry for the noise you've encountered. Given the vibrant nature of the Pijp, this happens sometimes. Thanks for being a great guest and I hope you'll come back!

  • We had a wonderful stay in Jasper's flat. The accommodation was very spacious with two double-bed bedrooms. I loved having breakfast on the terrace - what a luxury.
Sandra met us at the flat on our arrival and ensured we settled in.
There are restaurants, cafes, supermarkets so close that it is easy to shop each day. It is also easy to walk to the Rijks Museum and the Van Gogh museum.
My husband loved the free wifi.
The walk-in shower was also appreciated as so easy to use for my elderly mother.
    A highly recommended apartment.
The only downside was the smelly fish vans outside who were stocking up nearby Cuypstraat market - but that wasn't a problem as we only noticed it leaving the apartment in the morning:-)

  • Jasper was very organised and easy to communicate with. On arrival we were met by his friend Sandra who was very polite. The apartment was perfect for our needs and in such a great location, having visited Amsterdam before I felt like we had escaped a lot of the stereotypical tourist hot spots to find something more local but equally interesting. Japser's local information guide was very helpful in finding restuarants and exploring. I would definitely come again. Thank you.

  • We stayed in Jasper's apartment for 7 nights and loved every moment of it. Despite the fact that we are a family of 5 (us with 3 kids of the ages of 13, 18 and 21) the place was perfect.
Instead of repeating others, we find it appropriate to refer the readers to all the superlatives included in previous reviews regarding Jasper himself (although we didn't get to meet him), the apartment and its location, which we adopt all and find all more than justified.
We had a great time - Warmly recommended!!!

About
I gave up my finance career in 2010 to pursue a lifelong dream: to travel the world full time. To support myself, I rent out my apartment and run a few online businesses. I share my adventures with the world through my blog, The Traveling Dutchman. I love exploring the planet, learning different cultures and discovering new places. I'm also a big fan of anything that involves the ocean and starts with an "s", such as scuba diving, swimming, surfing, sailing and snorkeling. I love meeting people from different parts of the world and I look forward to connecting with you as a host or traveler. I will do my best to make stay as comfortable as possible or being a good guest, depending on my role.
