About this listing
This peaceful 170 sq ft. cozy cottage is a perfect get away in the heart of Hawthorne. The cottage is extremely quiet and wonderful for sleeping and hanging out. It has a small table for eating (if you like). A full bathroom, kitchen, dining room, and living room is inside the home and only 10 feet away.
The cottage has a comfortable queen sized bed and beautiful walnut hardwood floors. There is a cot under the bed if one doesn't want to share the bed. There is an oil space heater in the cottage as well. The cottage is fully insulated and warms up quite nicely. A fan is provided as needed.
This is a wonderful place for one or two people or a cozy family if you enjoy little retreats in the heart of city life. The space is clean, simple, and full of love. We hope to see you soon.
The main house for use of the restroom, kitchen are most frequently used. Access to the dinning room and living room are open as well, just note that we have a 2 and a half year old that will be there too!

Interaction with Guests
We love to connect with our guests. Often we are still going to work, teaching classes or taking care of the little one... so we are not available in person all the time, but you can easily reach one of us by cell phone if one needed anything.
We are walking distance to many great frills, such as, New Seasons Market, SE Powell's Bookstore, Yoga Union, Stumptown Coffee, Kure Smoothies, Por Que No? Taqueria, Bagdad Theater and Pub, Float Tanks, and so much more in the Hawthorne district of Portland. We are also a short walk to Division and Belmont Streets, which host many of Portland's famous food carts. Movie Madness, the NW largest collection of movie rentals, is near us as well, just in case you find some time for a movie. If you want ideas or suggestions of what to do, where to go, or what's interesting and fun around town, then we are here for the asking!
It is pretty simple to get to our house using the public transportation of TriMet systems. A busy bus line is just a block away and on 39th there are a many more bus lines to take you most any where you wish to go!

I had a wonderful time staying with Lotus, Brandon, and Lilyana! The room was very clean and comfortable, the bed was great, and I enjoyed playing with their new kitten! Lotus gave me some tips on using essential oils and was even kind enough to offer me some when I wasn't feeling well. They are wonderfully easy-going and recommended a great taco place nearby called Por Que No? Taqueria which was delicious - I highly recommend it. I would definitely stay with them again when in Portland.
Excellent little place nestled in the heart of it all, in Hawthorne. Lotus and Brandon were as involved as you wanted them to be. A great spot to kickoff your Portland adventure.
Lotus and Brandon were wonderful hosts. The cottage is cute and cozy. The location is perfect. Only 2 mins from bus stop. It takes around 15 minutes to go to downtown by bus. A ton of good restaurants near by. Lotus taught me some knowledge about essential oils. I did an aroma treatment with her. It was amazing.
What a fantastic place to stay in Portland! Lotus and Brandon are super friendly and easy going and made my stay very comfortable. I stayed here for two nights and couldn't have imagined a better place for a solo traveler looking to explore Portland and its neighborhoods. Location is fantastic - smack in the middle of some great SE neighborhoods - Hawthorne, Division, Belmont, etc. Walking, bus, and Uber made it easy to get around. Highly recommended!
Lotus and Brandon are great, friendly hosts. The cottage was roomy, clean, private, and had a comfortable bed. The only issue was the heat due to a rouge heatwave that came through while I was visiting. Since I wasn't hanging around during high temp hours, it's wasn't too much of an issue. The location of the cottage is great—walking distance to bars, restaurants, and the 14 bus which takes you downtown in about 20.
Lotus&Brandon, they are so peaceful people. I could stay very comfortable at them quiet cozy cottage.

Lotus is a massage therapist, yoga instructor and essential oil educator. Brandon is a massage therapist as well and a massage continuing education instructor.
We both enjoy movies. Brandon's favorite is Dead Poet's Society and Lotus's favorite is the Notebook.
The Matrix and Lord of the Rings are pretty dang cool, too. However, any inspirational movie is always a plus.

Lotus loves singing and has a voice (this is Brandon writing) that is beautiful beyond words. You just have to catch her singing when she thinks she's alone.
And, when you stay with us, you'll enjoy your privacy. We simply leave you alone unless you would like to have conversations, which we love as well. You have the best of both worlds with us.
Our life motto? "Akuna Matata!" It means "No worries for the rest of your days."
