This peaceful 170 sq ft. cozy cottage is a perfect get away in the heart of Hawthorne. The cottage is extremely quiet and wonderful for sleeping and hanging out. It has a small table for eating (if you like). A full bathroom, kitchen, dining room, and living room is inside the home and only 10 feet away.
The cottage has a comfortable queen sized bed and beautiful walnut hardwood floors. There is a cot under the bed if one doesn't want to share the bed. There is an oil space heater in the cottage as well. The cottage is fully insulated and warms up quite nicely. A fan is provided as needed.
This is a wonderful place for one or two people or a cozy family if you enjoy little retreats in the heart of city life. The space is clean, simple, and full of love. We hope to see you soon.
The main house for use of the restroom, kitchen are most frequently used. Access to the dinning room and living room are open as well, just note that we have a 2 and a half year old that will be there too!
Street Parking is pretty open for guest to park. It does get full on the weekend evenings.
We love to connect with our guests. Often we are still going to work, teaching classes or taking care of the little one... so we are not available in person all the time, but you can easily reach one of us by cell phone if one needed anything.
We are walking distance to many great frills, such as, New Seasons Market, SE Powell's Bookstore, Yoga Union, Stumptown Coffee, Kure Smoothies, Por Que No? Taqueria, Bagdad Theater and Pub, Float Tanks, and so much more in the Hawthorne district of Portland. We are also a short walk to Division and Belmont Streets, which host many of Portland's famous food carts. Movie Madness, the NW largest collection of movie rentals, is near us as well, just in case you find some time for a movie. If you want ideas or suggestions of what to do, where to go, or what's interesting and fun around town, then we are here for the asking!
It is pretty simple to get to our house using the public transportation of TriMet systems. A busy bus line is just a block away and on 39th there are a many more bus lines to take you most any where you wish to go!
We, Lotus and Brandon, are both Massage Therapists and offer affordable prices for "In Cottage Massage".
The room was in a great location for walking to Hawthorne Ave.
This place is perfectly located in the Hawthorne neighborhood! I saw a concert and and walked back. That's a lot nicer than having to drive. Hawthorne has a lot of cool stuff to do!
The hosts were friendly and helpful. Lotus even taught me some thing about essential oils.
I highly recommend this place!
Lotus and Brandon have a beautiful cottage private from the house. Be sure you communicate carefully about the shared bathroom. This is one of the best neighborhoods in SE Portland and an extremely good Air B&B value considering a shared bath.
It was a great weekend at Lotus and Brandon's. The warm cozy cottage is exactly what we needed after long day of walking in the city. Bathroom and kitchen are in the main house, but it's not too much trouble.
The location is great, there are some bars and restaurants right on the street. We have a car so we drove to my favorite breakfast sandwich place Fried Egg I'm in Love, which is around 10 blocks away.
Lotus and Brandon are very friendly and welcoming, I definitely recommend staying at their place for a little getaway trip!
A perfect stay, with perfect hosts and in a perfect location. My stay at the cottage was wonderful. Brandon and Lotus are welcoming, accommodating and made my relocation process alot easier. The cottage is in a prime location for the Hawthorne District - close to restaurants, pubs, stores and parks. The cottage french doors are beautiful to open in the morning and the heater works great for cooler nights.
Lotus and Brandon were more than accommodating!
I needed a laptop for some work-related things and Brandon let me borrow his personal laptop without even thinking twice about it.
There is a bathroom that's in the main house and it was kept nice and clean.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cottage for anyone who's looking to stay in Portland.
My husband and I had a great stay at Lotus and Brandon's place. They are very well located near all the great restaurants and bars!
Very quiet and nice neighborhood too.
It's 2 blocks from the original Stumptown coffee shop ;-)
I stayed at Lotus and Brandon's suite with my son for 4 nights and we felt welcomed into their home right away. The suite was cozy and comfortable and the neighbourhood was friendly with lots of restaurants nearby. Lotus helped us with her knowledge of aromatherapy and even sent us with some samples of essential oils. This was a great home base from which to discover Portland.
Both of us would come back here and highly recommend Lotus and Brandon.
Great stay at Lotus and Brandon's cottage !
The room was wonderful : extremely calm and peaceful
The neighborhood was great : only a 5 minute walk to SE Hawthorne for great restaurants, coffe shops, shopping,...
Using the family bathroom could sometimes be a little complicated in the morning, but it really wasn't a big problem. As we were traveling around, we didn't use the kitchen, but I'm sure it is possible to cook your own meals there, although it might take a little organisation.
The wifi was available but the signal was very weak. It's fine for using the internet for getting some precise information, but it might be a little complicated for someone who would like to work out of the room and needs to rely on the internet. But it worked out great for us, to look up adresses in the morning.
Thanks for a great stay, I recommend this place.
Lotus and Brandon create a very welcoming and homey space in Portland. Their kindness and attention really made us feel like we were in a home, even as the separate cottage gave us our own space. The cottage is very sweet, clean, and comfortable. The restroom is in the main house, but neither of us had any trouble with this. Located in one of my favorite neighborhoods, the cottage is walking distance from great food, shopping, and Mt. Tabor park.
