Interaction with Guests
I live in an apartment and I like to watch for the guests, although conditioned by the hours of work they do to pass some time away from home.
Is hipster neighborhood with many creative people of Madrid. Many small shops, with identity in food, clothing, jewelry and bars. There is a live music venue next to the building.
My area is very well connected, as it is the center of the city. The flat is on the proportional distance between the stop metro Tribunal and Gran Via.
After many guests – where I made many positive expierences, I will establish a few basic rules as this seems to be needed:
1.- It is a house where we recycle. The planet has limited resources and must contribute to all conservation. In a cube is organic waste in a paper bag, paper and cardboard and other behind the kitchen door, cans, and plastics tetrabrick.
2.- Lights, heat and airconditioning - in a word, energy, are to serve the people. Use it only when you are in the room or hall please - It's a small thing!
3.- Therefore turn heater and lights off if you dont need them.
4.- The kitchen appliances are to be used, but with discretion and good use.
5.- The washing maschine takes a load of 8 Kilos – some people used it to wash a few underpants – therefore please ask me first before you use it!
6.- I dont provide any breakfast!
From Aug 1 - 31, 2015 the minimum stay is 3 nights.
Although we didn't see David during this trip, he's really helpful. He contacted and gave me the details a few days before the trip, also he kept in touch about if everything goes ok during the trip. The apartment is lovely and well- equipped!
Excelente anfitrión, si vuelvo a Madrid ojalá sea ahi mismo.
Sadly we weren't able to meet David as he was away attending to his sick father. Nevertheless he kept in constant communication with us to check and make sure we were okay, which we greatly appreciated. When we arrived we were shown into the apartment by Eli from the laundromat next door who was very gracious in showing us where everything was.
The apartment is perfectly located in the wonderful neighbourhood of Malasana/Cheuca and midway between several metro stations. Malasana is such a great part of Madrid with lots of bars, restaurants and little shops. It can get a little noisy at night however David's apartment is well insulated and very quiet (except for the rolling up and down of blinds/screens on the windows through the night :)
Unfortunately during our stay the temperatures were in the mid to high 30s and David's apartment doesn't have air conditioning. There is a standing fan in the room which offers some relief.
The apartment is very neat, clean and comfortable. Larger people might however have difficulty with the very small shower!
Thanks so much David for letting us stay in your apartment. We love Madrid!
David was very responsive to all questions i had. He gave prompt, accurate transportations directions--ie-- from his flat to bus, trains. i was very sorry to hear that his father was ill andcFavid was visiting him some distance away. nonetheless, david arranged for his cleaning lady to meet me at the door and it worked out perfectly.
David was not able to be in Madrid due to caring for his ill father in Lyon. However he took care to make sure my stay was not affected and made all the necessary arrangements for my stay to go smoothly. He continually checked in to assure all went well. As before I appreciate his attentiveness and the great location of his flat.
About the Host, David
I am a university professor, single, friend of friends and good host. I like people and this is a great way to meet people from all over the world. I believe in personal relationships how to change the world.
I like music, singing in a choir made many years ago, reading, cinema. The little things that make life better. Of course gastronomy, travel, are part of the knowledge of the cultures and are the best way to learn.
