Waipouli Beach is a great resort! Condo is very well furnished and clean. Very spacious kitchen equipped with everything you might need during your stay, including all kinds of appliances, plates, different kinds of glasses, pans, etc.
Both bathrooms are very clean and well equipped.
There is a great view of the pool. You also can see ocean on the side, so we enjoyed watching sunrises every morning.
Anna also provided us with a Pack-n-Play for our kid. There is also an option to rent other stuff like high chairs and beach toys from a company nearby.
Beach is not swimmable because of the rocks and corals, especially for the kids.
However, there is an excellent beach with lagoons for the kids just 5-10 minutes away.
After 16 hours of traveling we were so happy to finally arrive at the condo and were thrilled to see it was exactly what we expected - newly updated, clean and beautiful. The complex itself seemed relatively full of guests ranging from families with young children to older couples - despite being on our honeymoon we fit right in. The grounds are wonderful - Room G307 has a slight view of the ocean and oversees the beautiful pools. Small, but well equipped fitness center as well.
We had a fantastic stay here on our first visit to Kauai. Kapaa was a perfect location - in the middle of everything, and good food all around. The condo was really well appointed, and my wife and I loved the kitchen and the giant subzero fridge. The balcony had a great view of the pool, and the other balcony gave a nice view of the beach and the sunrise. We spent five days here with our 9 month old son and didn't want to leave. The concierge was super helpful, the food at the restaurant was quite good, and my son enjoyed the lazy river pool and the koi pond. The condo has everything you could need for pool, beach, or cooking, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom spotless and HUGE, and the location, wonderfully convenient - walking distance from everything from food to shopping to coffee to groceries. I have already recommended the place to friends, and I do hope we have the opportunity to return.
This is a lovely and quiet resort with awesome pool and beach access. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the building and grounds are impeccably maintained. The room was wonderfully quiet, clean, and comfortable. The food and bar service at the Oasis was great. I found the Fitness Room was equipped well. Anna provided us with all the start-up items like hand soap, dish soap & Laundry detergent etc, which was great. This Resort is located on the East Shore and we found it easy to access our favorite beach’s on the north shore, yet kept us close to the restaurants and stores in Kapaa. If we ever return to Hawaii, we would stay at this resort again, Mahalo Anna!
First, we'll talk about the condo. Waipouli beach resort is an upscale resort right next to the beach. The room was well appointed with granite countertops, a jacuzzi tub, and a comfortable bed. The kitchen was spacious and had everything you needed in there to cook like you would at home. The pool area was really nice (winding river style with 2 water slides and a sand bottom hot tub - must try) and would be great for families. The pool area was also home to some community grills for those so inclined - but they always appeared to be in use and it would be a little bit of a walk to get your freshly cooked meal back up to the room. Beach towels are provided at the pool if you show up before 6 PM. The only con to the room is the beach view... the room has a panoramic view of the pool area, but in order to see the beach you almost need to be on the porch. The porch for this property, if I recall correctly, did not have room for a little patio set either.
Second, the beach: the beach is located a stones throw from the pool. Even though it's nice to look at, the beach is really not all that swimmable (rocky). Keep in mind we were staying in April - I don't really know how the east side of Kauai is during the spring, summer, and fall months.
Third, amenities: 2 grocery stores (also walkable) are right across the street from the condo. Next door to the grocery store is Tropical Dreams Ice Cream and is worth a try - just be ready to talk with the owner. Also nearby is Hukilau Lanai - you should definitely make a reservation and go here! I had the red snapper and it was delicious! Waipouli is convenient to Poipu, but is a little bit of a hike to Waimea Canyon and Princeville.
Look out for the "Activities" stand next to the grocery store - they sold us on a couple of activities on the condition that we go over to Poipu for a timeshare talk saying that we were saving close to $200 for the 2 of us to go kayaking to Secret Falls and on a Blue Dolphin snorkel. My recommendation is to stay away from the activity booths and call yourself. I bet you'll get the same deal we did without the timeshare talk...
Overall: it was a nice stay for my wife and I, but I could really see Anna's condo shine with a family of 4 as it has an awesome pool area, is centrally located, and walking distance to good eats and ice cream.
You know those new, modern-looking condos that have fixtures and appliances that look great but are flimsy and cheap to the touch?
Yeah... this is not one of those places.
Beautiful inside and out, we were so glad we picked Anna's unit at Waipouli for our honeymoon! Everything in the condo was well made and really pretty. The view was overlooking the pool (mostly), you can see the ocean from skinny balcony but you probably won't spend time there (there are two balconies, if you're like us, you'll only use the one that has chairs and a table on it). However, the beach is about a 90 second walk away.
We loved the location in Kapa'a: being right in the middle of the Eastern coast meant we were about 40 minutes from everything on the north side and 40 minutes from everything on the south side which let us explore the whole island very easily (went north for snorkeling and SUP, went south for some resort-y sorts of activities and for a particular restaurant).
Absolutely loved our experience and I'd highly recommend it to anyone!
