Living in a 19-story skyscraper allows a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River. Located in the heart of the Downtown Neighborhood – near the nightlife, restaurants, and shopping – our apartments are the ideal home base for exploring the city.
The Exchange Building, completed in 1910 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was refitted in 1996 to house 202 attractive efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments, penthouses, and handicap equipped units. While the building has undergone a series of renovations, every effort has been made to preserve its historic features, such as the original mosaic tiles, an early-1900’s era Tennessee marble staircase, the elaborate plasterwork, and the granite surfaces. The towering marble ceilings of the lobby exude the elegance of downtown living.
The apartments provide a homey feel with a luxurious touch and high-quality amenities. Several of the units located on the higher floors provide our residents a spectacular view.

Walk outside and explore the rich, dense neighborhood. Fine dining is offered within blocks at renowned restaurants such as Rendezvous(!), The Majestic Grille, or Flights. Enjoy a pint at the neighborhood Irish pub, The Brass Door, or make the 3-minute drive to Beale Street and relish in its famous bars such as Silky O’Sullivans, Alfred’s, or Bardog Tavern.
You could also take the trolley to Beale St, to the Pyramid, or around the Downtown area, since there is a trolley stop a block away.
Check our Duidebook to find more information about must-go places around.
There are public metered spots all around the building. Since parking is not always available, we provide parking passes for a nearby parking garage (1 block away) at the price of $10/day. Note that these prices are non-negotiable since the garage is operated by a separate business.

Clean, bright, convenient! The sofa is comfy to sleep on. If you're heading to Beale St, this is the place to stay!
The front desk staff was awesome! They had maps of the local area and gave us recs for late night eats.
The apartment was exactly like the pictures shown. It was in a great area and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The place was in a premier spot where Beale street was only a few blocks away and only about 10-15 minutes away from everything else. The issues I had with the place was that there are barely any kitchen materials. No spices (not even salt and pepper), no knives, etc. They had pots and pans, cups, plates, spoons and forks. So if you are looking to make a homemade meal then have to get everything yourself. The other issue was the mattress and sheets. It was uncomfortable and the bed sheets kept slipping off which was annoying.
This is our second time staying at the Exchange Building. We will never stay anywhere else when visiting Memphis! It is just like home!! Everyone is friendly and helpful! It is close to everything downtown. Thank you once again! We will see you again!!
The apartment was perfect - spacious, comfortably furnished and complete with all the basics. The building itself was secure and the staff were very polite and helpful. The location was ideal for exploring downtown Memphis!
The good: the location is great, getting into the apartment was easy, and Sardor was quick in his responses.
The bad: The apartment has the bare minimum, 2 plates, 2 bowls, not a very well stocked kitchen. The towells were mismatched and old, and the shampoo/conditioner was left over/previously used. Power would randomly go out and turn back on (to be fair they are doing construction in the building) and the ac/heater was extremely loud at night. The "gym" is not a gym, it's a room on the 19th floor with a few pieces of exercise equiment that are probably from the 70's, not sure if they work. However if you ask the front desk about the gym and tell them you are in a vacation rental room they will kindly offer you a one day pass to Envision Fitness which is only a 5 minute walk.
Overall, I would not stay here again unless improvements are made. I have stayed with Execustay on Mud Island, and will likely do so in the future.
We were quickly checked in and given keys to our unit and the people helping us in the building office were friendly. I never actually met Sardor but the people working for him were nice and responsive during our brief interaction. The unit itself was pretty basic - we noticed a residue on the kitchen island that hadn't been cleaned and there was a stain on the lampshade in the bedroom. Also, there was no place to hang towels in the bathroom. Generally, the unit was as described and appeared the same as in photographs. We had a problem with the bed - it didn't have a mattress pad and the sheets were too small and fell off repeatedly. In the end, we decided to exit the unit and Sardor was kind and understanding throughout the process. The unit could be nice but it just needs a bit more attention to detail.
The description was accurate and provided for a very nice stay in Memphis. I would recommend staying here!

I was born in Uzbekistan and raised in Memphis. I'm the middle child, with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters -- and recently a 4 time uncle! I've been fortunate to travel the world in my early years and learned a lot about the different cultures around the world. I enjoy learning about geopolitical history, architecture, and technological advancements that benefit the myriad societies around the globe. To me, Memphis is an exciting city that competes with the great cities of the world as a worthwhile stop for play and leisure. Allow me to host you in my apartments, located in the historic Exchange Building in downtown Memphis.
