Fernbridge at Grahamton is nestled in the woods of Central Pennsylvania - close to Penn State, the Susquehanna River and Quehanna Wild Area. Fernbridge got its name from the lush fragrant green ferns that blanket the floor of our 10 acres of forest. The most beautiful feature of our private cabin is the historic stone bridge that is on the original Grahamton Road which spans a beautiful peaceful stream and waterfall just down the path from our rustic comfortable cabin.
The space
Fernbridge is only approximately 30 minutes from Penn State making it very convenient for guests attending Penn State Football games or other sporting events and all the wide array of events and activities State College has to offer. Also close to the Susquehanna River, in 10 minutes guests will have access to this beautiful waterway for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. The Quehanna Wild Area is very close and guests will be treated to spectacular elk viewing areas!
The cabin's main living area has a spacious open design with a large great room and a fully equipped kitchen complete with a large dining area. There is ample comfortable seating in the living room enhanced by a cozy fireplace and a large screen TV. The kitchen has everything guests will need to prepare and serve full meals including a full sized refrigerator , an electric stove, other smaller appliances, dishes, utensils and glassware. A Keurig and a blender are available for coffee and beverage lovers and special signature snacks, enjoyed during Nina's Girl Scout hiking and camping history, are provided to enhance your stay along with other culinary delights.
In the upper level are two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The master bedroom is equipped with a double and and a single bed and storage for clothing. There is a futon, a bunk bed and a very cool sleeping loft in the second bedroom along with clothing storage. All bedding is provided for your comfort and convenience. The bathroom has a shower, sink and flush toilet plus a dressing room area - toiletries and towels/wash cloths are provided along with a hair dryer and iron.
Downstairs in the lower level your recreational needs can be met with a bar and full size second refrigerator plus, a foosball table and a Widdy dart board complemented by comfortable furniture to accommodate numerous guests. This area and the cabin remain naturally comfortable cool on hot summer days due to all the shade trees and there is an air conditioning unit in the master bedroom providing additional cooling comfort.
The various couches and futon offer additional guest sleeping areas if needed and the property provides ample space for tent camping also.
There is an outdoor fire ring and canopy with seating. Fire wood is available to provide that priceless special ambiance of a camp fire complete with roasted marshmallows and s'mores. Our cabin is equipped with campfire cooking utensils too. There is also a porch swing in the yard under the trees to provide many peaceful opportunities to just relax and soak in the trees and beautiful atmosphere.
Guests are welcome to use recreational equipment available including corn hole, horseshoes. and ladder golf (aka "hillbilly Horseshoes". There are many other recreational opportunities for adults and kids including board games, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles along with crayons and coloring books, frisbees, hula hoops, kids' swings, wiffle ball and jump ropes to to make your stay enjoyable. And for our youngest guests, there is a Pack and Play available, if needed, to make their stay comfortable and safe.
There is winter road maintenance along with electric and gas heat to keep guests comfortable. Ample parking is available on site and a keypad entry provides easy access.
For our guests' health and safety, we have committed to the Airbnb 5 star cleaning standard.
