There was a dilemma with my stay at Christine's. I had relocated to Florida due to a job opportunity.
My first night there--she prepared dinner which was very kind for her, which she also prepared breakfast for me.
When you walk into her home, it is very clean and tidy. However, there is a very strong odor that you notice as you walk in--I am guessing it's from the bayou.
She keeps her thermostat at a very high temperature--it was set at 79/80. I had asked her if we could turn it down a notch--she agreed to 77' and stated I need to get used to the heat.
I expect it outdoors but prefer to be cool indoors--she then tells me that her power bill is at a rate she wants and that she gave me a good deal for a month.
Due to airbnb calling her my second day there and reporting that I had called--she stated I went behind her back and due to her not trusting me, I couldn't stay. So I got my things and left, leaving my groceries behind.
However, she did assist me unloading my things when I arrived and had sent me messages that I had left a couple of things--which I did reply and let her know she can keep them.
Needless to say, if you don't mind the bayou smell and the 79/80 temp indoors, this is the place for you!!
Hollie was in a shock with the climate change she experienced upon arrival in Florida in Summer! She is a first timer w airbnb and a novice traveler and I was reluctant to accept her request for a month not knowing her at all, but doing a favor to another airbnb guest who I also didn't know. I will not do that again! As it back fired because I refused to give in to her request to lower my thermostat down to an unrealistic temperature so she could better adjust to Florida in June. Wait until July and August! She was a nice girl, but with some unrealistic expectations of bring a guest in someone's home and has mistaken my kindness for weakness. A recommendation is highly questionable and doubtful from what little I know about her.
Christine made me feel welcome since I arrived at her place. She prepared the breakfast which is rare. The house is very clean. I went there mid-june and the temperature indoor was perfect compare to the outdoor.
The twin size bed is kind of tired but I slept like a baby so no issue for me.
Very good place for the price.
Christine has a BEAUTIFUL Florida-style home on a quiet bayou - a tranquil oasis where I spent time hanging out working on the WiFi & enjoying nature (a much needed respite at the end of my trip).
Her location was perfect for me as I don't like to be in the middle of the beach crowds all the time yet Clearwater Beach (one of Florida's most beautiful beaches) was just an easy 15 minute drive & there's LOTS of restaurants & things to do there. Her place was also convenient for me as she's close to Tampa & the airport (especially helpful for a 7am flight)!
The beds were comfy (I tried both) which is crucial to me.
She was a very helpful host & I'd definitely stay with Christine again (hopefully in about 6 months!!!).
I've stayed at a lot of airbnb's and Christine's was one of my best experiences. She's just a really genuine and nice woman and was very easy to get a long with. Her house is in a very nice area as well. It's quiet, close to Clearwater and St. Pete Beaches and very clean. I'd definitely recommend staying.
Christine was a most gracious host. Her home is located right along side a bayou with a deck overlooking it. The bedroom and bath were clean. Thanks Christine.
What a wonderful, and thoughtful host..............Christine is very gracious, and understanding..............since I came in very late. I really appreciated her knowledge of the area for directions, and even down to the latest traffic accident report.
If you are visiting as a tourist, Christine is (email hidden) from Disney World, has all the info you will need for your trip!
She will spoil you with her attention to detail.............thank you again Christine!
great host and great stay. Christine offered a number of great suggestions to see and do in the Clearwater area, which was great as a first time visiter.
This was a great location as I was visiting the area for a few days and I wanted to be closer to the beaches area & also close to Tampa downtown but still wanted to be at a quiet area so this was a great choice. Also Christine was super helpful at providing lots of information about the area, the interesting places & how to get there by car. She also made me feel welcome during the whole stay. I would definitely come back again. Highly recommended.
A lovely well kept home in a quiet neighborhood. Christine is very inviting and friendly.
