Peter and I love to travel and enjoy the comfort of a quiet B&B.
We were both journalists for many years working in television and newspapers. We love culture and books. We have loving cats that enjoy lap time and will probably seek yours.
We are just crazy for the bay area, and are great guides. We can point you in any direction, even an exquisite restaurant.
We love hosting.
Location & Our Home
We are located in a highly desirable neighborhood in Mill Valley. We face the sun all day, and have great views of the mountain and trees. Our historic home was built in 1896 when the Tamalpais Land and Water Company sold the land. It is shown in turn of the century photographs. With loving care our home has been restored. It was built with redwood from the local area. The rooms in our home are quite large. The living room floor has quarter sawn oak and first harvest pine floors in the bedrooms. (A good reason we ask for shoes off in the house)
Parking is on street. We have about 30 stairs to walk up. Don’t sweat it. We do it all the time and with groceries.
Our property is lush with three apple trees and one lemon. We pick the wild mint for tea and cook with the wild rosemary in our garden. We grow vegetables which we try to keep in bloom year round. The backyard patio is a great place for breakfast. We have a redwood tree and many California Oaks in our yard.
We are lucky to have such a wonderful retreat right in heart of Mill Valley.
Perfect for the Mill Valley Film Festival.
America's Cup is around the corner, and we are in perfect location for the race.
Enjoy a good night sleep and wake to French press coffee, fruit, eggs and toast in our kitchen, or backyard. We use organic food whenever possible.
This is available from 7:30am to 8:30am.
We do not allow our guests use of the kitchen accept to put food in the refrigerator.
Clean, bright and beautiful. It’s located on the second floor.
The large bedroom has a comfortable queen bed. It is outfitted with Ralph Lauren sheets and a fabulous down comforter.
It has a comfortable chair, side table with drawers, reading lights, and a Sony speaker dock for you’re Apple iPhone, or iPod. It also has a radio with alarm.
There is a closet, which may come in handy.
Wireless Internet is available (this is a secure connection, you must request the password for access).
There are two bathrooms in our home. One is on the first level, and the other down the hall from your room. We believe in privacy so this should not be a problem.
We have a second bedroom for a 3rd person for $75. a night. You must let us know before securing your reservation so we can write the contract with this addition.
Check in after 3pm. Not later than 10pm unless prearranged.

Penni was a marvelous host, helping me feel right at home. I stayed for 5 nights while also attending a business workshop nearby. She helped guide me to the best sight-seeing, restaurants and walking paths. The house was spotless, bed was uber-comfy, breakfast was tasty, kitties were entertaining, view was heavenly. I will definitely stay again if travel brings me back to Mill Valley area.
My first experience using Airbnb, and I believe I will have a problem with expectations from now on. Penny and Peter were the ultimate hosts. The room is beautiful, full of sun and fresh air, and the bed was very hard to climb out of. I stayed here as a stop over to extend business travel. I will be back for vacation. The best hopping off point for all of the beautiful regions north of SF. In two days, I explored Stinson, Point Reyes, Sonoma Valley, and Napa Valley. Commute was easy, and scenery all points around is gorgeous. Breakfast each day was delicious. Parking could have been a hassle considering the street, but Penny and Peter went out of their way to make sure you had a spot. Penny's recommendations for local sight seeing were excellent and spot on.
Don't hesitate. Book!
The experience my daughter and I had during our stay at Penni and Peters home was nothing short of a perfect weekend. They were available when we needed them. The location is excellent, convenient to the hiking trails, beautiful Mill Valley and restaurants/entertainment. We had a great experience during our visit and would recommend this place.
Awesome.. It was like spending the weekend with relatives that you love or your dearest best friends. From our first communication when booking the weekend I felt like I had just made another lifetime friend.
Penni & Peter were great. They were flexible in letting us drop our things early, and they were warm and made sure everything was taken care of. The house is lovely, and it's a short walk from downtown Mill Valley--particularly convenient if you're in a wedding :) We would happily stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Pacifica. A beautifully located (walk 5 mins to town) warm and friendly home in the heart of charming Mill Valley.
Penni and Peter were excellent hosts. No detail was missed and expectations were greatly exceeded. The room is very lovely with a cozy bed (only quality bedding) and a peaceful view of the trees and hills beyond. Gorgeous, sunny bathroom, fluffy towels and a deluxe shower as well. Even quality toiletry amenities were offered, just like a nice hotel! They really think of everything.
Breakfast was always delicious and beautifully presented.
Penni and Peter themselves are very interesting, well-traveled and easy to be around. We were so jammed with social commitments and explorations, I only wish we had had had additional time getting to know them better.
Parking is easy on the street in front of the house - never a problem.
All in all a first rate stay for our first AirBnB experience!
Thanks Penni & Peter!!
Penni and Peter couldn't have been better hosts. They were very generous and with their hospitality went to extra lengths to make me feel at home and to make my stay enjoyable. I really enjoyed getting to know them while I was there, we had some great conversations and they were genuinely interested and wanting to connect. I really appreciated this. I learned a lot about life in California.
The house is beautiful and spacious and the room is really lovely and private and has a lovely view. The bed is extremely comfortable.
Mill Valley is such a peaceful place, the natural environment and redwood forests are really something. It's a great spot if you are looking for a quieter environment.
I really felt like I was home during my stay. Thankyou Penni and Peter.
Staying with Penni and Peter at Casa Pacifica was the best! The views were gorgeous and the company was wonderful. Penni and Peter were very welcoming--as were the two cats! Their home is clean, beautiful, bright, and homey. Plenty of privacy, and an easy walk to downtown Mill Valley. My boyfriend and I would love to stay again. Thanks, P and P!
Lovely area, lovely house, lovely people. Only downsides were purely logistical -- you might find some difficulty finding a place to park on (Street Name Hidden), and lugging heavy luggage up from the road to the top-floor bedroom isn't for the faint of heart or weak of leg -- but all the truly substantive stuff was great. Peter & Penni are gracious hosts, and made me feel quite welcome. Served breakfast in a sunny dining room. Hung out one day, reading, in their sunny "TV room" which looks out across the valley to the south. Downtown Mill Valley is within an easy walk down the hill -- maybe 10 minutes away -- and Mill Valley Park is even closer.
Penni and Peter are delightful hosts. Casa Pacifica is lovely and comfortable. The location is beautiful and within easy walking distance of both downtown shops and breathtaking walking trails. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Casa Pacifica to anyone traveling to the Mill Valley area.
