PRINCE KUHIO APARTMENT ASSOCIATION HOUSE RULES
PK House Rules 5/4/10 Approved
For the benefit of everyone enjoying Prince Kuhio Resort, all owners, residents, guests and contractors on the
premises are bound by the following rules:
Vehicles: The front parking area and the spaces in the adjacent parking structure labeled “Prince Kuhio” are
reserved for owners and residents only. Register vehicle in office and display permit on dashboard. Car washing is
permitted only in the car wash area adjacent to the parking structure. Do not use this area for parking.
Trash: All trash should be placed in the bins adjacent to the parking structure at the back of the property.
Bicycles: Riding or storing bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, etc. is prohibited on PK grounds.
Animals: Animals or pets of any type are not allowed on the premises or within units. Do not feed the chickens,
birds or other feral animals.
Pool: By State law, children under the age of 14 years can not use the pool without an adult present. Pool gates
have childproof latches that must be kept closed and latched at all times for safety. There is no lifeguard on duty at
any time. Pool hours are 9:00 a.m. to sunset daily. Use of the pool is limited to owners and residents of Prince
Kuhio. No glass containers or radios/portable stereos are permitted in the pool area. Please obey posted pool rules
and remove trash and any other items brought to area.
Laundry: Facilities are for the use of owners and residents only. Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Renters can
obtain key code from their rental agent to access laundry when door is locked.
Smoking: There is no smoking allowed at Prince Kuhio with the exception of the designated area at the front west
end of property. This means no smoking in any of the units or unit lanais or on any PK grounds (pool, BBQ,
laundry, hallways, office, basement, etc.).
Outdoor Cooking: A BBQ area is provided for your (website hidden) outside of the designated BBQ area is
Eyesores/Storage: Hanging towels, rugs, garments or other articles from the lanai or walkway railings is
prohibited. No storage of surfboards, bicycles, beach chairs, equipment or supplies on the lanais, walkways or
other common areas.
Noise: Noise travels very easily at PK, especially from lanais and open windows into units. Please be considerate
of others and keep noise levels down. Association by-laws require that after 10:00 PM all noise must be contained
within the unit. Notify manager of any noise complaints including construction noise.
Construction: Construction or maintenance activities are limited to the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday and 10:00 am to 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Noise must be kept to a minimum at all times. Owners or
contractors check must with manager for specific instructions before starting major work.
Kitchen & Bath Drains: Prince Kuhio is served by a small, private sewage treatment plant. To ensure its
effective operation, no garbage disposals are permitted. Sand, food waste, diapers, wipes or any bulky materials
should not be put in drains or toilets.
Sand: Foot washes are provided on both sides of the front of the grounds and at the rear entrance. A carwash hose
and pool shower are also available. Please use these to remove sand from feet, shoes and beach equipment.
Prince Kuhio Park: The adjacent park does not belong to Prince Kuhio Resort. It is a Hawaiian historical site
and a monument. Please treat with respect. Do not play golf or ball games or climb on the walls in the park.
Keys: As required in the by-laws, each owner must provide keys for the unit and storage locker to management for
This location in Kauai was terrific! We were able to see both sunrise and sunset from the deck and walk right across the street for great snorkeling with beautiful fish and turtles! The Beachouse restaurant was a great place to sit and watch dolphins, whales, and other marine life swim by. The accommodations were very comfortable with nice furniture and a fully stocked kitchen for meals. Brenda was a great host providing recommendations on what to do and see in the area. It was also nice having access to beach chairs and beach gear during our stay. We will definitely be back to enjoy this wonderful location. Thank you!
We had a wonderful time staying at Brenda's place and she was a wonderful hostess. Brenda was so quick to respond to my initial inquiry and was friendly and helpful. It's a 2 minute stroll to the Beach House and small nearby beach to watch the sunset or get shave ice. The aloha welcome with our names at the entryway stairs made us feel so special. All the thoughtful touches (fresh fruit, flowers, snacks, coffee) were appreciated and enjoyed. It was great that she provided beach towels, beach chairs, and other beach equipment so we didn't have to lug it from the mainland. It was the ultimate relaxation to be able to view both sunrises and sunsets from the deck.
Brenda's condo is a great base from which to explore the South shore. It's cosy and has a nice beach house feel. The light is really special. We made use of the snorkling and boogie boarding gear at Poipu beach and the very beautiful Mahaulepu Beach (well worth the drive or walk.) We'll be back!
It's a beautiful apartment - a little small for 4 adults, but still very nice. The porch, the view (of course), the shower, the kitchen - all great. Only downside is walking up those 3 flights of steps with our (heavy) luggage. But would recommend this place to anyone!
We stayed in this condo for a week as part of our honeymoon to kauai. At first we were a little turned off by the fact that it is in a condo building with many apartments. For some reason we both imagined a smaller du-or-quad-plex building. However, while the building itself is not very luxurious, the private four floor was wonderful. We loved the space and the set up. The condo has everything you would need and the ocean is actually much closer than it seems it the pictures. This was an excellent location for us: directly across from the Beach House lawn for sunsets, close to Poipu Beach and natural foods stores. We actually enjoyed our time at the condo much more than the luxury (and much more expensive) hotel we stayed in for the first several days of our honeymoon. Brenda has done a fantastic job with mirrors and windows and the space was so comfortable and private. If we return to Kauai we will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
This place was amazing! Our group included two families, each had at least one child and there was plenty of room. The view is amazing. Being a penthouse, you have a nice level of privacy: no noisy neighbors above you. The area around Poipu beach is fantastic as well. There's a great touristy shopping center nearby, and there is a great small beach for children in the neighborhood right next to the rental.
We stayed an entire week and everything went very well. You'll definitely need to rent a car. We cooked most of our meals in the condo. Additionally, there is a washer and dryer in the condo so you don't need to worry about using the public one downstairs.
We had four adults and three children and there was enough room for all of us. There's even a pak-n-play and high chair there if you have younger children.
Highly recommended, and we will definitely be back.
Brenda was absolutely lovely! She provided champaign in the fridge for my new wife and I, it was our honeymoon. The penthouse was clean, beautiful and in such a great location. We would definitely come back.
