The space
Private entrance upstairs cabin located above my husband’s wood shop. This unit is separate from our home located 20 yards away. The views from the windows are of the forest and pond.

The cutest mini farm house bunks were built here at Heartwood.

At 66 acres we are the small farm in this neck of the woods surrounded by two 200+ acre cattle farms and a horse ranch. Our wooded property keeps the neighbors from view unless you head to one of the lookout spots along our mountain trails. The center of town (Floyd) is just under 11 miles away.

Hi, I am a retired Navy veteran from Southern California who moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia in my husband's hometown of Floyd. Although I love this peaceful rural life, I do miss my neighbors (the good ones at least lol). Want to be my neighbor? Sometimes it is nice to see a wave from across the street, or to hear about things that are happening in town. If you need a cup of sugar, don't hesitate to ask. My husband and I are both Veterans and love swapping military stories (sea stories for me) if you are into that sort of thing. We also know how to give you some space to explore. Our young kids are always excited to meet new friends if you have children, and they mainly play on the opposite side of the property if you don't. We live about 20 yards from the cabin and are typically onsite. Call or text me with questions, and I hope to see your smiling face out here in Floyd!

We treat guests as we would any neighbor, we at least give a friendly wave and say hello in passing. If we are lucky, friendships are formed. Being open to a 5 minute intro seems to make the whole experience better for everyone.
