About this listing

Beautiful, charming brownstone one bedroom...sunny and quiet..high ceilings and 3 large windows face inner garden courtyards. Near All transportation, Lincoln Center, and Central Park.
Upscale neighborhood.
away most of time. Looking for guests-4 day weekends-Fri-Mon.

The space

Charming 1 bdrm brownstone, high ceilings, brick walls, old world charm mantle. Internet, (Wi Fi) TV. Large, sunny 1 bedroom- 850sf. "Junior 4 room".

There is a sense of upscale comfort and luxury. The furniture is very luxurious. The extra high 12' ceilings and large , old brick wall , with turn of the century oak mantle, with an inlaid mirror and huge sunny living room, with garden views, add to the feeling of luxury and comfort.

This room is a large bedroom, with 3 windows and faces south, and the inner gardens below. There is an oak inlaid desk in the room for working and a closet. I have many antiques - like an Art Deco dresser. - I've also recently added a new, luxurious carpet in the master bedroom.

It's very quiet, faces the inner gardens, which is relaxing. Perfect for a traveler, or month to month.

Ideally looking to host one person at a time- but on some exceptions I'll host a couple, so email if you're interested.

Quiet, upscale neighborhood, near Riverside Park, and Central Park, Lincoln Center, Museums.

. Prefer quiet, mature professional.
- I will be home periodically, while on a project, so you'll enjoy some solo time in my apt.
I stay in the room not hosted.
All transportation nearby, "1, 2, 3 and A,B,C metro trains, are a few blocks away... and the buses are around the corner on Columbus Avenue.
All in all a great, quiet, and Upper West Side upscale apartment experience awaits you.

Very quite and comfortable apartment near Central Park. Not far from Midtown and museums. Excellent position. Sandy was kind and gentle.

It's a quiet residential area with many friendly restaurants to explore and mostly loved the fact that I could walk around central park so easily and to all the museums on the east. Convenient access to metro to get to midtown and downtown also. Didn't get the chance to meet Sandy but she gave me all the tips and guides needed to get around, it really felt like having a friend checking up on me while I was visiting the city! 16hrs of flight from HK, but will def come back to NYC!!

Sandy was the best host I could have asked for! She was so helpful with everything and made the whole trip so easy. The apartement is very big and clean, while the room you sleep in is very cozy and quiet so you will sleep very well :) The location is great, only blocks away from Central Park and the subway, so you are in the center of manhattan in 10 mins. There is shopping and great restaurants/cafes close by as well. When the blizzard hit New York and my return flight got cancelled Sandy let me stay longer at her place and was so helpful to make sure I am taking care of. Thank you so much for the best airbnb I stayed at! :) xx

Sandy User ProfileSandy is a superhost.

I'm a cheerful, creative person who enjoys interesting, creative, and quiet people. I enjoy photography and architecture and interesting conversations. I was trained as an Architect, and have had my own business. I have been involved with the Occupy Wall Street movement since it started last Sept.

I appreciate a quiet lifestyle..I'm looking for longer stays over a few weeks, but email me if you see openings.I enjoy meeting professionals from all over the globe coming to NYC to visit and for work.

There are many interesting dining and recreational and cultural areas around my neighborhood, and people seem to love the quieter, tree lined streets, lined with beautiful, renovated brownstones- historically preserved, and the interesting cultural events and places in the neighborhood, like the Museum of Natural History, and Lincoln Center within walking distance. And then we have weekly flea markets and have a live concert hall, with top performers 2 blocks away at the Beacon Theater. And if that's not enough, you can indulge in sidewalk cafes, and upscale food shopping all along Broadway 2 blocks away. And of course to exercise, jogging and visiting both Central Park and Riverside Park are a few blocks away too. But lastly the subways and buses are also a few blocks away, so you can head to anywhere within the city within a short time.

Please Note: * Can't receive guests on Thursdays between 2-6 pm.

Also please note that I have more recently become sensitive to wi fi's and wireless devises. This means I might sometimes turn off the wi fi before I go to sleep.
I would prefer ONE PERSON to host at a time. And would very much prefer longer stays, say for a month, or even a few months stay can work-
I look forward to hosting you.
