This space offers a wonderful place to convene with family and friends. Adjacent to Battenkill Valley Outdoors, an outfitter for canoe, kayak, raft, or tube rentals, local hiking, or just being....come relax here. 3 bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, a stocked kitchen, common area, outdoor fire pit and grill, expansive lawn for grass games, & starry night skies. Cook great meals, tell tall tales, share experiences.
Pet friendly...a space to toss balls & a full dog run. This is an all season rental.

The space
Inside: Comfortable furnishings throughout. On one end of the Long Lodge is a bedroom / full bathroom with a queen bed. The other end contains 2 bedrooms ( 1 double bed - the other with 3 twins) and a full bathroom. In between is a comfortable common area with 2 couches, a cozy gas fireplace, a big screen TV ( Cable is not available, Wifi and Chromecast is) - with options for old school VHS or DVD movies (provided). A simple sound system plays CD's. Puzzles, games, and books share the bookcase with the movie options. The open space flows onto a kitchen, fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes etc. and a table that seats 6.

The Long Lodge welcomes families of all ages. Although, the space is not child proof. Parental responsibility is expected.

Outside the front door: opens onto a raised deck with chairs to enjoy the morning views. Down a few steps is a pavilion with picnic tables and grills.
A fire pit offers wonderful group connectivity, and tall tales into the night.

Outside the back door: opens to a covered storage space, and access to a chain link dog pen. Pets are welcome at the Long Lodge- inside and out.

The property sits on 10 acres against the state forest. There are beautiful sun rises and sunsets. The night sky is stellar! This is a remote area, 2 miles from the Vermont border. Within a hours drive, you can be in Albany, Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, Manchester, or Bennington. Rural country roads ( by bike or car) take you over covered bridges, along stunning farmlands, and quaint towns.

Smoking is not permitted inside the cabin. Sand buckets for butts are provided outside.

Guest access
The Long Lodge is located down a long dirt drive which is shared with Battenkill Valley Outdoors. A left vere takes you to the cabin, with parking in the driveway.

Other things to note
Cambridge (7 miles away) offers grocery, brew pub, restaurants, a great book store, an eclectic theater/community center, a coop, and Walgreens.
Shushan, across a covered bridge has the local butcher and a well stocked
Ma-Pa grocery store.

Spring, summer, Fall activities include hiking, biking on local country roads, or river sports on the Battenkill located across the road. Battenkill Valley Outdoors - next door - offers rentals of canoes, kayaks, tubes, and rafts.

Art, antiques, shopping, swimming in the Battenkill - all locally accessed.

Reading, knitting, writing, wood carving, cooking, being, connecting - all things past guests have experienced while at the Long Lodge.

Saratoga Race track is 1 hour away

Winter sports include Willard Mountain in Easton, NY (25 min), Bromley or Stratton Mountain (45 min).
