About This Listing
We are a professional couple in our 30s and we have an extra apartment in our brownstone building that we would love to sublet on a nightly, weekly, or monthly basis. We know how hard it is to find clean, nice, and reasonably priced accommodations as a visitor to our city. What you see in the pictures and listing here is what you get! Since we live in the building we are available 24/7 should you need any help or have any questions.
The fully furnished and newly renovated apartment is located on the third floor, with bamboo floors, stainless steel appliances (dishwasher!), and all the amenities you could hope for. It is a completely private apartment. The living room windows have southern exposure, looking onto the street, while the bedroom windows look onto the very quiet and peaceful backyard. There is a shared luxury washer/dryer in the basement and the kitchen is fully stocked and ready for cooking.
The bedroom has one brand new queen-sized bed. The living has a pull-out queen size sleeper sofa. There are also two extra twin air mattresses available if needed.
If you are traveling with a child, pack n' play, blankets, toys, and books can be provided.
Hair dryer, curling iron, iron/ironing board, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, CD player/radio, linens, and towels all included.
We are in a very safe neighborhood, only 10 blocks North from Central Park, and a short walk to the A,B,C,D,2,3 subway lines. You can be in midtown Manhattan in about 15 minutes on the express trains!
Some landmarks around the area include:
Studio Museum of Harlem
The Harlem School of the Arts
Mount Morris Park Historic District
Museum of the City of New York
We are also close to many amazing restaurants and great nightlife. The grocery store is only three blocks away. A guidebook with area maps and take-out menus will be provided, plus free high-speed WiFi. Parking in the the neighborhood is free and relatively easy.
We hope you will enjoy our beautiful building and residential neighborhood as much as we do!!
Note: Absolutely no smoking allowed indoors.
All we expect is common courtesy and that you treat our space as you would your own. Relax and enjoy yourself without wrecking anything! No smoking is allowed indoors.
We can be very flexible with check in and check out as long as it's not in the middle of the night.
2 Air Mattresses available should you need a little extra space besides the bed and pullout sofa.
Wish we would have discovered this place four years ago when our son started university in NYC! A wonderful location, great neighborhood with fantastic restaurants, very near a subway stop, and probably the best deal for accommodations in the city. The apartment was perfect for our purposes, since we had family members coming and going during our stay and were able to accommodate them all while we enjoyed the benefit of our own room. Very comfortable and lots of space to put your "stuff". Grocery store nearby, and all the staples you need in the kitchen. Really, can not think of anything we would have wanted or needed. Thanks Larah!
We cannot thank Larah and Rocco enough for their kind hospitality.
This was our first Air BnB experience, and Larah's immaculate apartment turned our trip from great to magical!
I arrived quite late and Rocco was very kind in waking up to give me keys and show me basic things around apartment.
The apartment is even better in real life!Very spacious and tastefully decorated.
Super convenient location, with only a short walk to subways, restaurants, bars etc.
I cannot recommend Larah's apartment enough, and would 110% stay here again!
This was our first experience using AirBnB and I can tell you it was a very good one. The apartment was as advertised, very cosy and homely. Getting to/from JFK and Manhattan was super easy with the close by metro stations. The area boasts plenty of good restaurants and bars making it easy to spend a night out away from the busy Lower Manhattan.
As hosts Larah and her family were superb. Very welcoming and relaxed making you feel at home right away. Couldn't wish for anything more!
Larah's description of the apartment and neighborhood were accurate. The apartment is clean, bright and welcoming and had everything we needed for our four-person family. Larah and Rocco helped us with subway directions and lent us an umbrella when it rained. The express train can get you from 125th Street to 59th Street/Columbus Circle in no time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again and recommend it to others.
We spent wonderful holidays in this nice aparmtent.
It is exactly what you can see on the pictures: a warm and luminous place.
The chamber is a haven of peace. You immediately feel like at home.
The neighborhood is safe and more authentic then Manhattan downtown.
At our arrival, our baggages were delayed and Lara's in-law were
so helpful and comprehensive. Thanks to them, thanks to Lara and Rocco we
met few days after our arrival, we could benefit serenely from our long days
visiting the city during our stay. I can tell it counts when like us you have very
I write now specifically to my french "compatriotes" (countrymen), despite my
limited english ;-) we were put at ease by the whole family. I believe that Robert
would provide you some good advices to beer lovers ;-)
My family and I loved Larah's apartment! It was just like the pictures - clean and comfy! Larah was very helpful in directions and was open to us for any needs we may have had. The neighborhood is nice and quiet which was a nice change after being in the city for about 12 hours in the day. There was a great coffee shop around the corner and a grocery store and the train was about 5 blocks. Loved coming back to this beautiful place after a long day!
About the Host, Larah
Originally from upstate New York, now living in the heart of NYC with my husband and two babies. Love traveling, reading the New Yorker, music, and keeping fit. Adore the many many foods available in the city and can't resist a well-made cocktail. Can't wait to meet all of the interesting people passing through our place!
