About This Listing
is happy to welcome you to the beautiful cradle of the Renaissance a few metres from Piazza Santa Croce, in the heart of the historic center of Florence.
A beautiful and bright apartment, completely renovated and tastefully furnished by a Portuguese architect who spent 5 years in the house.
The apartment, on the fourth floor (no elevator) of a nice building, consists of a small entrance that connects the comfortable lounge, with views of the cathedral dome, and the kitchen overlooking Santa Croce.
From the Living Room, up a set of red stairs, you reach the sleeping area organized with Japanese tatami, all lit by a large skylight in the roof.
The kitchen is spacious and comfortable and fully equipped to prepare new recipes. The kitchen floor is made of Carrara marble and the worktop is teak marine. You can spend pleasant hours among the Florentine roofs bathed in the natural light that filters through the five windows at any time of the day; a perfect enviroment in which to read a book while drinking a nice Tuscan wine.
The central district of Santa Croce is filled with art and museums with an abundance of restaurants serving Tuscan delicacies. In the evening there are several night clubs within walking distance, in an area known for its lively nightlife.
The main railway station is easily accessible by foot or bus (there is a bus stop right in front of the house).
Everything is at your fingertips to put you instantly in the right mood for a wonderful holiday.

We want your stay to be as comfortable as possible and want you to feel as at home as possible. All we ask is that you please treat our apartment as you would your own home and be respectful of the neighbors remembering that they are not on vacation like you, so no wild parties please also note that there is a specific doorbell with our name in it, please DO NOT ring the all the neighbors bells to get into the building!! And absolutely NO SMOKING PLEASE! We also kindly ask that you DO NOT leave any food that can go bad or any unwanted clothing items.
My boyfriend and I stayed in Casa Mia for three nights and had a brilliant stay. The location was perfect – we loved being so close to Santa Croce's amazing bars and restaurants as well as being within walking distance to all the main attractions in Florence. The apartment itself is very cool with beautiful décor, the king size bed was really comfortable and the view of the rooftops and Santa Croce Basilica from the kitchen window was stunning. Communication with Remo and his friend Mari was great and Mari gave us some really good recommendations of things to do and places to eat. Overall we had a fantastic stay and couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you Remo and Mari!
Really enjoyed our 3-night stay here! The flat has everything you could need (including a good wi-fi connection), is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and has a very comfy bed (reached by a wooden ladder). Bear in mind that the flat is on the top floor of a building with no lift - not a problem for us but may be for some. Located within easy walking distance of all the main sights - it's almost on the doorstep of the the Basilica di Santa Croce (which you can gaze at from the kitchen window whilst eating breakfast!) and very close to the Duomo. Good sized supermarket nearby too if you decide to self-cater. Marilena greeted us and was very friendly and helpful, providing us with a map on which she marked some suggested places to visit/eat. The neighbourhood was a bit noisy on the Saturday night (nothing that couldn't be resolved by some earplugs) but this was to be expected when staying somewhere so nice with such a good central location, so it was a small price to pay! Many thanks Remo!
We were met at the flat by marilena, Remo's friend. She was quite charming and informative. Easy communication as my wife and I do not speak much Italian. The flat was beautiful on the top floor of the building. Be advised there is not a lift but the view made up for the flights of stairs. Would stay here again for sure. Great stay for us. Just wonderful.
You can seriously stop looking for your Florentine apartment because you've found it here at Casa Mia!!! Staying here is an experience in itself, the attention to detail in the styling is just incredible and I was constantly noticing new details and artwork. And the view of the Basilica from the sun-filled kitchen is just stunning. It is a really modern apartment and like nothing I have ever seen in Italy, you have to check it out!
I stayed there for 7 weeks and it is in a fantastic location, only a short walk (max 10 mins) to anywhere you need to go, whether it is the bars in Santa Croce, the fresh food markets in San Ambrogio or shopping near Piazza della Repubblica, the Duomo or Ponte Vecchio. It really couldn't be more convenient.
There are plenty of restaurants in the area - I Ghibellini was my favourite - and many bars for aperitivo - Soul Kitchen has great food and cocktails - and the Conad supermarket was in the next block.
I felt really at home there, the bed is extremely comfy and the loft space was welcoming and cosy with a full length mirror at the foot of the bed. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to make meals at home, although there is no dishwasher, toaster or microwave.
There is plenty of storage space throughout the apartment, lots of drawers and hanging space in the bedroom and a medicine cabinet in the bathroom.
There is a washing machine but no dryer however there is a clothes horse hidden in a secret spot and with the windows open there is a great cross breeze.
The apartment was also very clean and Remo was kind enough to organise a weekly cleaner at no extra cost for my long stay.
The only negatives were the many stairs to get to the apartment on the top floor (although they weren't as bad as I thought they would be) and the steep stairs to the bedroom can be tricky when you're drunk on too much Italian red wine or if you need to go to the bathroom during the night. The toilet is a really strange height and it's very narrow but you do get used to it, and sometimes the street noise and ambulance sirens can be annoying. But these things certainly shouldn't deter you from staying here. I highly recommend this apartment for a young single or couple and I will definitely stay there again next time I visit Florence.
I had a lovely stay at Remo's apartment and am already missing Florence! The apartment is in a great location and you can walk pretty much anywhere you need to super easily. The decor is really lovely, WIFI is great and it was a very comfortable stay. I would recommend Casa MIA to anyone and would love to stay there again next time I find myself in Florence. Thank you Remo & Marilena!
Our space in Santa Croce was very nice. There were a lot of design details throughout. The futons were able to turn into a double bed on the floor for when you didn't feel like climbing the stairs to the bedroom. Speaking of stairs, the walk up to the apartment had a lot. I think we counted 9 sets of 10. There are also stairs leading up to the bedroom. Bed was very comfortable. Loved that there was a fan up there. A bit of a steep climb in the middle of the night to get to the bathroom but its ok. The location was very nice and in more of an Italian neighborhood with good local restaurants. There is a Conad grocery a block or so away. Marilena greeted us at the apartment and she was lovely. Thank you.
