What a great weekend. This was my first time using Airbnb and it was a fabulous experience. Ann was such a gracious host--she gave dining tips and other suggestions on things to do but was not overly involved. She has lived in the area for awhile so knows it pretty well (be sure to ask her for farmers market suggestions. Each morning she made a lovely, fresh and organic breakfast that was delicious. Smoothies and muffin tops are a must try.
The house is adorable and the bedrooms lead right out to a large deck space. The direct pool access is pretty amazing for days when you're not up for all the beach hassle. Also, each bedroom has a semi-private deck area which is also great.
All and all the stay met and exceeded my Airbnb expectations. Will be looking forward to a return trip!
Another great stay with Ann to close out the summer. Looking forward to next season!
Ann's surly review says it all. The fact that she would be so catty as to mention the so-called non-local bumper sticker on our rented Jeep is just a mirror of her curmudgeonly attitude and non-welcoming behavior towards her guests. I have been summering in the Hamptons for decades and am from Manhattan as one can clearly read from my own account here. After calling Ann with an emergency my friend experienced with a last minute cancellation Ann was absolutely rude ! We resolved the issues ourselves ensuring it in NO WAY affected Ann. We arrived super late and were only were at the house to sleep. The home itself is very dated and smells as such. The pool was covered in insects in the morning. The so-called "breakfast" was zucchini bread and coffee which she only serves for an hour from 8:30-9:30 and reprimanded other guests for being late to "breakfast" on their own vacation. The lights and electricity were out for an hour Saturday evening--its a miracle no one got hurt entering the house. If we were there at all we whispered and felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable ! She even entered our bedroom unannounced ! As a host I must say there are some of us who really embrace the process and others who resent it. My advice to Ann is : If you don't want people in your house then don't host on Airbnb. My advice to others who consider renting is: the house is the farthest thing from an Oasis.
So sorry your friends had a bad time. As for electricity being off you have to take that up with LIPA as I have no control over power outages. Any pool in the Hamptons has bugs on it until the pump goes on which it does at 9 AM. Breakfast is served from 8:30 - 9-30 and if you look at the facebook photo of Saturday's breakfast there was clearly more than zucchini bread and coffee on the table. My advice to you is to behave like a guest next time you stay in someone's home. I have had nothing but lovely experiences with my guests until you.
Raw Oasis is a quiet sanctuary perfect for a weekend getaway. The place is located in the woods and provides a quiet, refreshing atmosphere. There's a pool with chairs to kick back and lounge and get some sun. Ann is a great host and her raw breakfast is delicious. What a great place to stay. I'd go back anytime.
My friend and I stayed here, Raw Oasis for two nights, and those two nights turned out to be wonderful ones more than we expected.
Ann, the owner, is a healthy food expert. With her warm hospitality and delicious vegan breakfast, Raw Oasis is a perfect getaway place.
Even though I am not a vegan nor vegetarian, I enjoyed her food and healthy food knowledge very much.
I definitely recommend this B&B.
Ann was such an amazing host. We have food allergies and she accommodated all. Especially delightful was sharing coffee in the morning with Ann while she cooked up and served her signature delicious and healthy food. We can't wait to go back!
Ann's place is top notch. Clean, open, and she's got a great pool for guests! She's extremely welcoming, easy to communicate with, and she takes great care to cook amazing foods for guests. Raw foods for the win! I highly recommend you stay with her. Thanks, Ann!
